I did have a 1936 Ruby and my 1929 chummy is smaller inside. The Ruby should be a a 4 speed box.. I'm 5 ft 7" However. the chap that bought the Ruby from me was 6ft 2" and was just able to drive it away.. I guess being a short ass has its avantages sometimes.. Loved the video.
Did I not say 4 speed?! 🤔 I might have said wrong lol. Yea I'm just over 6ft which it most cars I'd totally fine of course...glad you enjoyed the video
Do you realise you could UP the performance, AND retain most of the originality - by fitting a (later) EIGHT - Fifty Reliant engine? Reliant took over the Seven's engine, and changed it to O.H.V., and increased the power.
The 747cc engine fitted to the later Austin Sevens, like the Ruby this car is based on, produced 16.5bhp.

Love it! Can't wait for the Bentley 😂❤
Haha same, still dreaming!
Beautiful countryside setting, by the way!
It's a great area I love it! Thanks for watching!
@@chriscomparescars4416 hello, Chris! But WHAT exactly is a good idea?
Very nice conversion. Mine was a Ruby based special but (ahem!) somewhat cruder. Always wanted a Speedy😊
Thanks for watching, I hope you got lots of enjoyment out of it!
This car, parked NEXT to a REAL, full-sized Bentley, must have caused a sensation at BROOKLANDS, where the Bentleys had many successes in races!
It's definitely a sight to behold at car events!
Great video! Good to see something unique, hard to achieve that on UA-cam these days!
Thanks for watching, it's definitely different!
You learned to drive on THAT? Explains a lot.
Haha yup, that's why I'm so good now 😎
Very nice Austin 7 👍
Thanks for watching!
It looks like a BABY BENTLEY!
Haha yes it does!
Looks like an RTC special body from roach.
Awesome!
Thanks for watching!
Loved it when dad just pushed you back rather than having to try get it into gear! Xxx
@@sazlugbug I guess from that I didn't succeed in driving it really 🤣

You need to convert it to AUTOMATIC and dispense with that cumbersome gearlever - which has no right to use up room, in such a confined space!
I guess that's an option but would take away from its character and of course originality in my opinion
@@chriscomparescars4416 okay, then! So NO automatic!
