Silvino (South Africa) & Dene (New Zealand) were team mates for the Rest of the World in the world team championship alongside Malta's Tony Drago.

@@diamonddarts4548 A bit like his fellow countryman, Perrie Mans. A superb Potter but lacked a positional game of a really top pro. Despite this he reached the world final in 78 and famously won The Masters without making a 50 break!

I always felt a bit sorry for Silvino Francisco - he was the one who brought drug taking (Kirk Stevens incident) into the public eye and the governing body at the time never forgave him for it - they made his life and career as difficult as they could - having said that - the ironic thing is that he got into debt through gambling and so took a drug smuggling mission on and went to jail - wonder what he is doing nowadays

@@diamonddarts4548 Thanks for that - I've often wondered what became of him - I followed snooker very closely in the 80's and as I said in the previous post - the governing body treated him very harshly

He accosted Kirk during the interval Kirk never tested fir drugs he did it in his spare time Fransisco basically told Kirk to lose or he’d tell about his drug use not a nice man ..

@@opencurtin I knew that he accosted Kirk during the interval and accused him of taking drugs but I was unaware of the part about telling him to lose or that he would tell about his drug use and I followed snooker very closely in the 80's - how do you know this ?
