Lake Sabrina Basin Backpacking and Fishing

This was a 4-day 3-night backpacking and fishing trip in the Sabrina basin. We stayed the first night at the Sabrina campground at about 9,000 feet elevation to acclimate. The next day we took the Sabrina Lake trail to Blue Lake where we set up camp at around 10,400 feet elevation. The following day we hiked to Sailor Lake and set up camp there at 11,000 feet elevation. We then did a day hike to both Hungry Packer Lake and Moonlight Lake where we fished. I caught 2 trout (including my personal best at 12 inches), Robert caught 11 trout, and Jason caught 15. We cooked the trout and ate them that night and they were delicious. Also, the fall foliage colors were amazing! The stats for the trip were about 17 miles and 3,500 feet of climbing. The date of this trip was from September 27th to 30th, 2024.
