    Thanks for the update. If your scion wasn’t cut at the top would it have continued growing upward instead of sending off the new shoot? 🤔

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому +4

      You’re welcome! You are correct, if the scion wasn’t cut it would continue to grow upwards. But because the scion was cut it will send off new shoots from its nodes.

    Would you recommend to graft a yellow DF sapling to a matured DF plant to speed up the growing process?

      Hi Jo Ng, yes I would definitely recommend to graft. Speed will increase growth by a significant amount.

    When is the right time to take off the plastic celophine covering?

    • @GraftingDragonFruit

      You can take off the bag after 5 days. Continue to leave it in shade for an additional 10 days before moving it into the sun. It will need 15 days in complete shade to recover before you can introduce sun to your cleft graft.

    Hey Richard
    When is the best time to graft? TIA

    • @GraftingDragonFruit

      Hi Lam, grafting is best done in the grow season. So around March-October are great times to graft. Once it hits November dragon fruits go dormant and stop growing. I like to graft in the afternoon when sun is going down so that way it isn't too hot and doesn't dry my graft when I'm grafting. :)

    What is the benefits of cleft graft

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому +1

      Grafting helps increase the speed of growth on dragon fruits that are young or have slower root systems that take long to produce growth.

    Why put a bag on after grafting? Also why plastic? Can paper bag do the same?

    • @dangfob
      @dangfob 4 роки тому

      It helps the cion to heal, plastic bag keep in the humidity where paper bag soak it up and probably cause rot.

    Can it help if i craft a seedling too bloom early on a older plant?

    • @GraftingDragonFruit
      @GraftingDragonFruit  5 років тому +2

      Hi Frikandel speciaal, most definitely! If you graft a seed to a older dragon fruit. It will help increase the growth rate of your seedling and will bloom within 1-2 years after grafting.
