    Thanks! I just bought a trans am and I was a little confused when I saw what I now know is a “sealed beam!” And I like that those aftermarket lights fit the car! OEM+ is going to be my goal with mine!

    Thanks for making this video and for the tip on repinning the connectors! Just did this install this morning on my 2000 WS6 - fast and easy job and they look beautiful. I’m no longer embarrassed to pop up the headlamps. 😄

      @autolapse3693 these look virtually identical to the LMC Truck housings which are like half the price

    Those are really niice! Not exactly stock looking but probably close enough for most. I'm working on a LED conversion that is 100% stock looking utilizing the original factory headlight housing for significantly less. My prototypes look and work wonderfully.

    Seen a few videos recommending this light upgrade but yours is the only one I have seen clearly explain how to swap (not cut) the connectors for a clean install. Also, the added explanation of the wire routing issue is another excellent portion. Thank you for this. My lights have now been ordered and I cannot wait to do the install.
    Secondary questions: Where did you buy your wheels and what brand and model are they? Also, what twin turbo kit do you have?

    • @Sfdgarage
      @Sfdgarage  Рік тому +1

      Appreciate the feedback! They are Weld S71 wheels with fitment for a Chevy SS/G8 to clear the brembo brakes up front. I got them on trade locally. The turbo kit is from Huron Speed and is a nice setup

      Just got mine on the weekend. So thankful for the tip to swap the connectors themselves instead of cutting or soldering. Makes for a very clean install. Having not done it before, taking the old pins out was a bit more involved for me but watching your video again I was able to do it without destroying anything. Much appreciated.

    They are pretty good. Took 8 months after ordering to receive them. And opened the boxes to find one lense cracked. Was pretty upset but they fast shipped a new one. Quality was very good. Just the bulbs fit really loose on the housing causing water to sit inside the housing. No matter how much I tried to get them tightened they still kept collecting water. No way to review them in any way and they make sure of it

    So those orange weather seals on the red and black wires should have been slipped off the wires if possible and put on the old wires...

    Crazy I bought Headlights for my 99 and they are 4x6s which are 1/4 inch to big all they way around. Is there a way I can still use them or do you have a link for these.

    • @Sfdgarage

      If the ones you have are too big I don’t think there would be a way to modify them to fix, it’s pretty much gotta be the right size. Here’s a link to the ones in the video

    hey i know this is a old post... i had bought a led kit with ballasts for my 1995 convertible and it was expensive...my problem was true it was much brighter, but not focused...so interstate signs glowed bright but my driving lights sucked as well as brights...could see better with old ones...these seem better...although my fog lights were awesome until one came loose and burned my 2002 TA fog light housing.... I tried to click your link to purchase, but it will not load and says it is no longer available...Id like for you or others to provide me with a reliable trustworthy link that sells the kit including fog lights that actually work at a reasonable price or give me the part numbers so I can try and find them... Thanks to all willing to help!

    I did exactly this and they all work great but my drivers side headlight. No matter what I do, that connection stays loose and my headlight flickers on and off. I've tried redoing the connection several times and I've even added dielectric grease but it still flickers. Both the ground and the power wire wiggle in the connection. All other lights are working great. Do you have any suggestions?

    • @Sfdgarage
      @Sfdgarage  4 місяці тому

      @@stuartgibbs5825 you might want to try hardwiring it if you’re having a loose connection problem. Possibly cut both wires and crimp them together

    • @stuartgibbs5825
      @stuartgibbs5825 3 місяці тому

      @autolapse3693 I went ahead and zip tide the wires together to clean up the extra length like you did and since that caused the wire to now touch the connector all the time properly, no more issue....for now. If the problem comes back, I will turn try cutting and crimping. Thanks for responding

    You unfortunately didnt swap over the weatherpack seals into the back of that connector when you swapped wires, so its definitely not sealed up. Honestly soldering and heatshrinking the nice new weatherpack connectors onto the oem wiring would be faster and better off.
