For anyone who's too young to remember or wasn't even born yet, here we go: Ahmed Johnson was never good in the ring or on the mic, and should count himself lucky that he ever got a run with the Intercontinental Championship. Just remember he won that title at the same King Of The Ring ppv where Steve Austin won the tournament, launching Austin 3:16. By 1997 no one wanted to work with Ahmed because he was dangerous, and even the Nation Of Domination rejected him in favour of a barely known young man called Rocky Maivia. They should have also kept him as far away from a microphone as possible. Add to that the fact that he was prone to injury. Bad booking and bad luck are mostly what got in his way.
he was a great wrestler i would of liked to seen ahmed johnson vs brock lesner in 2002
As much as I love this channel, I really wish he'd stop saying wrestling documentaries, they're 15 minutes at most, would really love an actual documentary from the channel though.
Glad you like the content. Just to note, documentaries aren't defined by length but by their factual content. 15 minutes or less on the subjects I choose is more than enough. If I was focussing on bigger subjects then it might be valid to make the videos longer.
The only thing I can't fault him for was leaving when his sister's condition had deteriorated, anyone would do the same. However when it comes to his 'wrestling' the guy was a hazard to in the ring. As far as the racist allegation, he's full of it. I've only heard the black wrestlers all hate him. The likes of Faarooq, Booker T, Mark Henry, D'lo Brown and Godfather couldn't stand him
Yeah his car keyed itself.
legend in and WWF champion 🏆💯🏆
Peak Ahmed was 1996 when he got knocked out cold, Goldust gave him mouth to mouth the he woke up lookin for him in a rage😂
Lets not play the race card here Ahmed...even Ron Simmons hated you.
Mark Henry too. Ahmed was his own worst enemy
and D'lo brown
And Akeem the African Dream.
Thirty years, little has changed. 😔
So who spray painted the n word on his car??? That's not funny in the black community
Ahmed Johnson debuted in WCW in 2000,not 1999.
This doesn't really mention how much other wrestlers hated working with him and how I think that played at least a small part in his downfall. Especially after he injured Ron Simmons
I bet you don't remember Ahmed Johnson playing Suge Knight in the MC Hammer biopic tho 😅
I do. I watched it. He actually beat out Michael Clarke Duncan for that role!
and at 8:48 this is when the "biker Michael likers" was born! lol
My friends invented a drinking game based on his matches. Everytime a commentator said, " Johnson is up" or "Johnson is down"; would be the time to take a drink.
Am I the only one who actually liked Ahmed Johnson especially during his 1996 run?
As a Black kid i fucking loved Ahmed Johnson. Seeing someone that looked like me getting a push like he did was amazing. Its crazy finding out dude was a piece of shit irl
he has among the top 5 babyfaces in 96 after sid, hbk, bret and taker
@@axeonslaught6332 He may have been an ass to his fellow wrestlers, but he was good with the fans. I knew him personally around twenty years ago.
He did have an action figure one of those bone crunching wwf figures. I had one as a kid & a bunch of other ones I even have Justin hawk bradsaw still in the box somewhere around
Dude was over but couldn't work, and injury prone
- The Pearl River Jam Powerhouse
- Big T
- The Nation Of Domination
- 1× time WWE Intercontinental Champion
- Spinebuster
- Pearl River Plunge Powerbomb
Fwiw, he was one of my fav WWE figs to play with. Looked best with titles lol
What’s with the age thing?! Growing up every wrestler I remember hit their peak in their 30s-40s. Roman is hitting his peak in his late 30s. Cody too… I’m not sure why him being in his 30s matters
He got hurt, then went to WCW out of shape. Never recovered. Has far more to do with him instead of the company. Of course, he blames everyone else
Johnson could been the top guy back then
Would never have stayed healthy enough
Not with HBK around..plus he was injury prone. I was hoping he would have gotten a big push but no. I always wondered why back then.. Now it all makes sense
It is a huge shame you didn’t go into Rod Simmons and Johnson’s heat backstage.
Johnson kicked Rod Simmons so hard he broke his rids, so when Simmons attacked Johnson he kicked him so hard he damaged Johnson’s kidneys.
He needs to be on 2K 😂
I remember around WrestleMania 13 he was a big name. I think he and the legion of Doom were feuding what the nation. I thought he was a cool character I don't remember when he disappeared but it wasn't memorable by then
I think Bobby Lashleys second run in wwe was want Vince McMahon had in mind for Ahmed Johnson back in 1995
I met him in february of 1998. Now he's my friend. 😊
pretty sure he was in the first raw game for n64 and does have an action figure... but this could be that 'sinbad did a genie movie' thing for me.
Ahmed [Johnson] lost my respect by calling [Stone Cold] Steve Austin racist smh😮
He was in 2 Videogames. WWF In your House and WWF Warzone
It's interesting how people can take the time to put these videos together but don't take an extra second to do research on certain things. Ahmed Johnson did have an action figure and he was in a video game.
I mean in the modern day. I'm aware he got a figure in 1996 and was in WWF Warzone, but he hasn't been in any of the recent games among the legends or had a recent legends action figure made.
Ahmed Johnson is always labeled as a dangerous wrestler... true. he gave Owen Hart a concussion. Nobody ever labels Owen Hart a dangerous wrestler, yet he broke Steve Austin's neck.
Wasn't that the only person Owen hurt though? I could be wrong but besides I believe Owen was safe. Ahmed harmed a larger number
@@spiderboiplays5049Dan Severn absolutely boo booed Owen during his WSI interview. Claimed he almost broke his neck with the same piledriver.
@@namemcnamerton4249 Which is why the piledriver is rarely performed any more. It's just too dangerous a move unless it's executed perfectly.
Of course, when I play the wrestling boardgame Face To The Mat, I have guys use the piledriver all the time, for two reasons. One, I use a lot of classic wrestlers, when the move was performed more often.
And, two, it's just a board game.
Put him in a Hall of Fame praise
They had an AVATAR THEMED WRESTLER!.....😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I don't ever recall seeing that😂😂😂😂😂
al snow walks to the ring unmasked and puts the mask on before the bell rings.
@@rickylucas6503 Damn that was Al Snow!! What was the character he did with the mannequin 🗣️
@@fyreleomh1896 Al Snow and Head
Hotting up
Only in WWF WARZONE game, 1998
He sounds like the Jesse Smollet of professional wrestling.
Lol "I was green, I knew I was still green, but I should have a world title shot" delusional
He accused Steve Austin of writing the n word on his car. Steve had Mark Henry on his podcast and they talked about it and Henry said he knows it wasn't Steve and that Steve was never acted racist and was always super friendly.
It wasn't for being injury prone and wrestling reckless in the ring while working stiffs, ahmed johnson would been the first black wwe champion.
Fans loved him but his contemporaries hated him to death
Surprised you never made any mention of Ahmed bursting into WWE by bodyslamming Yokozuna.
