I was 17 yeARS OLD GREW UP WITH DEADHEAD PARENTS. FIRST SHOW IN 1979.. Was at this show with my friend. set break I went to take a piss. Guy next to me says hey man you wanna dose. He gave me the family white fluff... Needeless to say I had a real good time.....
All 3 UIC shows stellar, intimate venue! ...with decent seats on the other side I blew 'em off after finding a dancers dream spot on the low catwalk behind the stage, just a few ft above the drummers, we could feel 'em pounding! Playin' in the band, from their vantage, working their magic before a rockin' Chicago dance party. Brent! There was one specific Jerry Row Jimmy solo note that'll be ringin' in my ears forever. Listen closely, you'll hear it. Between sets we were just above their little cubicles; Jerry waved up to us a couple times. He had a cold. Tissues & OJ. The next night UIC had put up a huge curtain, blocking the behind stage area. Saw 'em many times, but that bouncy catwalk I'll never forget. Thx so much for posting this Kevin Tobin!
I was in school in Madison at the time too. Went down and stayed there for all three. Good shows. The area was something of a eye-opener. Figured out after the first day that wandering around the town around there wasn't the best idea.
Hey Kevin- thank you so much for posting these shows! These 3 nights were my first REAL shows and to have these captured and saved is so valuable. It take a lot of effort to video the show then maintain these vids for years until the technology catches up and you have time to marry everything together- thank you for your efforts!
I was blazing balls BIG TIME, right in front of Jerry 8th row. We were in line outside and peeps in front of us yelled back, "they're checking everything" so we gobbled up quite possibly the best shrooms I ever ate, and I ate a lot. The boys were laughing hard.
You can see they changed the setlist as they were going 1/2 way throught he 1st set. I do believe this is the only time they played two Brent songs in the same set. We were a mess by the time Far From Me broke out.
Went the next night. ...Jerry was healthy so it was. EPIC. to say the least. Little Red Rooster was to much for me at the beginning had to step back a sec. Wow
Wierd weir song. Not sure if I like it or just know it well. From 83-87 it was pretty heavily in the rotation. Unlike black throated wind. That's a masterpiece.

I don’t think the Tiger rig ever sounded better than that tour.

These were my first set of shows, living in Madison WI for college as a freshman. Was a magical time.

I too was in Madison at the time. Living on Mifflin st. Slept in my open air jeep outside the UIC. Froze my ass off.

Oh snap! 18:00 in. Someone knows they’re in ChiTown and bringing it hard. 😉
Victor Short “Chi-Town”? Lol
Chicago blues. They definitely paid tribute to past masters. The circle theatre was rocking that weekend. I'd do it again..
He’s killing everything in sight on this tour 🎉
I was at all shows at UIC 4/11/87 was very good, and 13 days before I got married. Sort of a Grateful Dead Bachelor Party!!!!!
Ride on! 1 in 10,000🤘💙⚡❤💀😊🤸♂️🤸♀️
Jerry's spirit double twists above Row Jimmy...

Met my lovely bride at this show! My future brother in-law had the most epic stag party after the Friday night show. How did we survive?

Epochal Show
Is Jerry's work on Far from Me especially nice? What a great show.
One of Brent's best tunes.
Trouble A Head Jerry's in Red💓🔥😋👌
I don't recall them playing Brother Essau a lot after Jerry's coma...I know they tried to float it as a B Side during In the Dark

Shelving it was a bad decision
Pretty sure this is my fourth push comes to shove
That China doll raised every hair on my body.
definitely my favourite china doll
2 Bob tunes 2 start the show bet that didn't happen often
3 Jerry songs in first set. Is that the lowest ever in a set?
i know you have 3/31/87 somewhere, right?
My first show. Want to see video! Jack Straw Franklin's opener was amazing.
my second show, and fav jack straw i ever saw
@@keseysvenisonchili My favorite show opener EVER!!!
Iwt
Jerry seems a little... detached, somehow.
Great dope in that city. Even though he usually brought his own supply.
