- Today Rockstar released a new tunable Red Dead Online Update with few very weird changes. Also according to SteamDB Rockstar are testing a new patch for Red Dead Online.

the horse one kinda sucks cause it was cool to see some of the creativity people had with naming there horses but now you cant see that 😢

People just made racial slur names lol, it would be allowed because of symbol replacing a letter so the game wouldn’t register it as a slur
Exactly - I used to enjoy viewing other players horse and posse names because it helped to build up the character they were trying to roleplay as. It actually added a lot of depth to the game, it was a mistake to remove it.
I kept naming my horses after philosophers, folk/mythology heroes, and novel characters.
Was kinda funny yelling "ISHMAEL WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?", or "GILGAMESH, STOP!" Whenever jank happened.
Imagine finally updating your game just to change shit that nobody wanted changed.
Rockstar: ‘comes back to red dead online’
Players: “OMG have you finally remembered us and decided to give us new content after all these years!?!?!”
Rockstar: ‘takes custom naming features and leaves’
Players: “…what the fuck is your problem?”

Rock ⭐ don't care about rdr2 online . If so ,there won't be glitches you're able to do or boot people off line ..
@@MaggieTheBadB they let a mod menu that had the potential to use GTA as a backdoor into your personal system roam unchallenged for a month before their lawyers told them it would be trouble if someone’s PC was actually damaged and only then they fixed JUST the legal issue of the modding, leaving remote crashing and ip theft functional. Even if they update it they don’t give a fuck.
And crazy how 4 years ago people said RDR2O was gonna be the true beta test for GTA6 😅 .... while it's being ignored while 13+ yr old game is getting the data. Unfortunately being realistic we the customers are to be blamed for it. My self and 30% other people are against the new gaming product ( starting back at least '88 ) and the other 70% complains but keep buying the product giving into the complaints you've already made. Not just R* but 2k is another GREAT example. Ubisoft and Activision is following closely behind. Either buy the games and be quiet and be part of the on going problem, or DONT BUY at all and be at rest
@@Chuck_Normies profanity filters in GTA have always annoyed the hell out of me. Rockstar be like “no no you can’t say poopyhead” and then I enter a cutscene where Lamar drops 49 different variations of the n-word 563 times in 2 minutes.

I liked being able to see player posse names, as it tended to give away which ones were the most toxic players.
They took my posse name away?! Wtf! They took my horses name away?!!!! This is bullsh*t. I love looking at people's horses names. This better be temporary

I hate the posse name update, it was useful to be able to describe the activity in the posse name, for example naming the posse "bounties and trader" etc. Furthermore, modders (who are now in every lobby) can make their names however they like, with zero chance of getting banned. So the fair players are punished while the modders can run rampant - what a fucking joke rockstar

I used to like to theme my horses with whatever outfit I was wearing. For example, I dressed my character as Sam Elliot's "Stranger" character from The Big Lebowski, and named my horse Lebowski, with my posse named "The Dudes Abide". Things like that. But now don't really get to do that. I was thinking that since they don't want to moderate the game at all in any way, they did this to make it even more "hands off" for them. I'll believe it is temporary when I see it.
Damn it would be so nice if they actually added all the content we were promised way back like robberies/heists and properties. I would definitely come back and play after 2 or 3 years of not playing. I actually miss this game... used to be my #1

There’s literally a button option to see the info on animals so we’ll see a horses info like you would in the stable. Seeing their custom name is pretty cool. I wish we could see who the horse belongs to, but no rockstar has a grudge on this game like an angry ex wife screw rockstar

It's so sad how they handled this game. When it came out, I had a bunch of friends playing, we were having fun, but bugs and cheaters pushed everyone to stop playing...
It's just going to me some changes made to their network, matchmaking, and friends list functionality. They're probably updating parts of their infrastructure to prepare for GTA6. I don't see RDR2 ever seeing a single piece of new content.

Previous projects will always be used for a testing bed on future iterations. In gaming it depends on how the company respects their player base.
Some games do it really well and others don't care about the condition of the game's current state, only what they will sell you next.

I wonder if the name changes were because of people like me? I named my horse "Your Mom". im a simple person & having people watch me hop on "your mom" & ride like hell, just always put a smile on my face. That joy will be gone now😢
The other 1 was my friends tag in the camp dogs name. We'll say his tag is "bob". Named the dog "Bobs ball bag". That way, everyone who visited my camp always had the option to give "bobs ball bag" a pat & scratch... If they so desired😂 did they change it for the dog as well??
I don't like them taking away posse names and horses names so other players can't see them anymore, that's annoying as hell.

I just started playing RDO about a month ago and it’s a shame I already have lost some desire to play it. I try to keep some big goals in mind to keep myself playing because I am enjoying it. It just seems like there’s not a lot to grind for even after a month of playing. Kudos to those who are still playing after all these years. I genuinely wish they would come back to the game and add some long awaited updates long term fans have wanted.
Rockstar could at least put a text chat like GTAO, I think what bothers me the most is not being able to talk to other players without having a microphone...

Rockstar would not let me call my horse Alexandre Dumas after the French Novelist who wrote The Three Musketeers & The Count of Monte Christo.
They wouldn't even let me call one of my outfits, Marshall Coat. Apparently Rock* thinks Marshall is offensive?
I play with PS5, so PC is not really an issue for me
rockstar might as well put up an invite only lobby or some kind of solo lobby for those not wanting to deal with other players, and the online part is slowly dying off anyways, but it seems like there just making these chnages or lack there of, to this game just to let it die while periodically checking on it. since rdr online is already on life support lol

Removing/banning startup.meta will ruin the game for me. I refuse to let griefers and cheaters spoil my experience. I agree that they need to create a legit way to allow players to have a solo or invite only lobby.

Well get ready to dump RDRO and find something else to play cause if there is 1 thing you can count on with R* is when they add or attempt to fix 1 thing, they usually screw up 3-4 other things. I'm sure they will only continue to wreck RDRO.

Not seeing names is a lousy change. It's nice being able to see them. I doubt anything new is coming other than that awful AC they chose. It's the worst software they could have chosen for cheaters and cheaters will easily get around this lame system. It makes NO sense at all that they are adding this to the 2 games they will not be updating anymore anyway.

Description: Become a alcohol, gun or clothes smuggler. Use the smuggler ship, other ships or new wagons. Also unlocks new islands like Guarma, unlocks mexico and new areas that are overseas like columbia...

Would love the ability to purchase battle wagons, stage coaches, etc. GTA players get to steal cars and keep or sell them all of the time. Do we get to do that in RDO?!
