Beautiful!!! As for the other episode... My husband & I watched w/a heavy heart. We're proud of you for carrying on w/business as usual, buying your forever home & dealing w/that matter w/profesionalism & class. You 2 really are a force. As we watched & talked about it, it almost looks as though all this was premeditated. I kept thinking of something my dad & older brother once told me. (They were both cops/detectives.) They said 'bad guys' have an innate ability to pick out victims. Robberies, carjacking, murder, SA , whatever their particular forte is they can spot the target from a mile away. I feel like you 2 were targeted, bamboozled & taken advantage of to the highest degree. You are a kind couple, ethically minded, helpful & sweet people. They recognized that & tried to pull a fast one on you but unfortunately for them, they weren't smart enough to understand resale value. OR the motive was just to seek, kill & destroy. Maybe they've watched you for a long time & were jealous? (Of ambition, drive or relationship?) Or secretly obsessed & when they didn't get the kind of relationship they wanted they went into motion. Maybe you dismissed a comment, email or DM? People are crazy. I wonder if there is a way to prove their motivations were more sinister than just being jilted over a kitchen? Sounds darker than that to me. Glad you guys are well. You have TONS of support! We're your youtube family!!!💞

This is a terrific house!! The amount of time and money saved with the unpainted original woodwork will allow a new owner to focus on creating their dream kitchen. I'm a firm believer in using the original floor plan of a historic house whenever possible. As you say, the use of the room can change, often quite easily, . I just cringe when I see tours of San Francisco Victorian townhouses where the interior is completely gutted, and converted to an open plan with slick, modern finishes. I'm amazed that even the mirrors above the fireplaces appear to be in perfect condition. The style and layout is excellent, and that tower room? Lovely! This is deceptively large home, and the fact the bedrooms are on the ground floor can make such a difference as people get older. I too am intrigued with the Mallard 'duck egg' details. I don't think I've seen anything like it on a mantel. Nice to see you doing what you do best! Hang in there, your peeps know who you are.

It's beautiful and affordable! Oh, I wish it was here in Texas, I'd grab this little treasure of a house. The woodwork, the original finishes, the charm and the pocket doors are there. I can't believe that no one has gone in and destroyed them. You're not accepting messages, but I'm very sorry that someone is libeling you. People like that make a snap decision and when they have doubts - or money problems - they get upset and turn around and take it out on everyone around them. I've been in your shoes and it hurts and it's infuriatingly unfair. I truly believe that all of their 'fault finding' was nothing more than lashing out at you over their own personal issues. Hang in there. There are thousands and thousands of people like me who see this for what it is and have the utmost respect for you.

I'm always so afraid when I see beautiful architecture like this. Not because of the history of the house, the supposed "hauntings", or worrying I might break something: It's the fear that some "flipster" will buy this house up, gut all of its originality and beauty, replace the original windows and fixtures with "modern" vinyl, pressboard garbage. I always worry that beauties like these will wind up going to people who will ruin it. All I think of is what the Deetz's did to the Maitland manor in "Beetlejuice" lol

  • @kennethstuckey7823

That intro music makes you want to grab a glass of sweet tea, find two sturdy rocking chairs, and join Miss Daisy on that circular porch to enjoy a nice conversation and a wonderful summer breeze that is saturating that awesome porch. Talk about a true house masterpiece! That's exactly what the Polk house is, simply gorgeous and exquisite throughout. What a fabulous double door vestibule with that "sit down and rest your sore feet" bench built inside it. All of those fireplace mantels are stunning, and so are the front doors of the house, the ornate windows, and those pocket doors. When you finally get a chance to see woodwork that's never ever been painted, you really grasp and appreciate the true beauty and value of it as they relate to the aesthetics of a home and its architecture. Laine, please know that your videos are beyond videos. They are educational webinars, that always contain your and Kevin's exceptional historic architectural, restoration/preservation and interior design expertise; and, your multifaceted general experience....all of which is always fascinating, enlightening, truthful and factual and so very needed and greatly appreciated. A person who is learning videography can also learn from Kevin's expertise, as all of his videos are flawless. You just don't know how much I value your and Kevin's knowledge and guidance, and I'm sure so do countless other subscribers of your channel. As for those modern designers that you mentioned, the word modern says all that we need to know. I thank you and Kevin for all that you do and for your unwavering integrity, graciousness, and kindness! GOD bless!

Beautiful property love the original light fixtures, woodwork and hardware! Wish they wouldn't have made the kitchen so out of place 😮

Cutest house ever! I always loved those curved porches; so elegant and inviting. I can never figure out why builders are inclined to give us two living rooms, but shortchange us on kitchen and laundry space, when many spend most of their time cooking and washing clothes. 🤔😂 I’m in a 2300 sq foot house with two living rooms, a small, cramped kitchen, and a microscopic laundry room. Go figure. I want a kitchen I can roller skate in, lol…the room for a bigger kitchen (it’s already bigger than mine!) is definitely there. Thanks for sharing! Oh, and as someone else mentioned, the Zillow link isn’t posted in your description.
