- Oklahoma City, Oklahoma - July 28th, 2022 - Turning its predilection for parallel signals toward the world of filters and widening out to full stereo, Old Blood Noise Endeavors unveils its first digitally-controlled-analog pedal. Float boasts two independently controllable filters and copious capabilities for motion. Utilizing the two filters in tandem can create stereo movement, linked reactive elements, and modulations that approach harmonic tremolo and phaser, as well as classic filter sounds.
Float features:
Two independent filters, each with control over filter type, cutoff frequency, LFO rate, envelope sensitivity, LFO shape, resonance, and volume
True stereo, parallel mono, or series mono operation via top-mounted jacks
Min/max toggle for precise sculpting of LFO and envelope range
Sync toggle to link the LFO or envelope elements of Filter 1 to Filter 2
Expression jack to externally control Cutoff or Rate for each filter
Soft touch switching with true relay bypass
Hidden settings for LFO phase and envelope speed
Pedalboard friendly size
Requires at least 100mA 9VDC center negative power

This video is so terrible, it's terrible. Just bought one
They should just give me one since it’s so horrible! Like geez how dare they create this abomination of a pedal…
Me too, I just bought one. Hooking it up to synths!
I can't believe these videos are free to watch. So glad to be here
Once everybody complained about keyboarders never finding the same sound twice. You're giving this opportunity to guitar players, thank you for that!
"anyway, here's wonderwall"
I’m enjoying these late night after hours releases
They know their audience!
I shared this with grandmother, she is thankful and asks you to stop by to see the garden more often.
well that's just wonderful
They really made a pedal so cool and versatile with how it handles an effect that they had to shove a second one into it. I love it!
As a guitarist who got way into synths over the pandemic (like many of us stuck at home trying to make music solo) this is really really appealing to me, cause I actually understand how these controls work now (But Dan is also explaining it really well!).
Nice! that's great to hear.
This replaces a bunch of modular synth filters/LFOs/amp modules that I was using. Pretty easy user interface. Arturia makes something based on Tom Oberheim's SEM filters that does many of the same things., but you need two for stereo. They are cheap.
Perhaps one of the most chaotic demo videos -- aesthetically -- that offers some of the most cohesive -- informationally -- details about one of my favorite pedals to use in my studio.
What a leyend Lt Dan is. I love this
Ground Control to Major Dan
Mesmerising. And the pedal’s pretty good too.
THis is awesome ! Old blood rocks . Thanks another great tool .
thank you, Richard
@@oldbloodnoise thank you . For all the awesome stuff you make . And the cool videos . They are helpfull and entertaining. Your company rocks !
I'm not sure what's more entertaining, your pedals or your vids. I bet your Christmas parties are a whole new level of wacky. 🤯
Holiday parties w/ obne are quite fun.
Man these pedals just calling my name ! Greats stuff guys. This would sound amazing with my visitor
your name is wubwubwubwubwub?
Omg! I've been wanting a filter pedal recently but I don't really want any of them "normal" filter pedals. So glad you guys brought your flavor of creative insanity to this category! Love the min/max toggle.
Dan's presentations are a bit dadaist but, however, precise and complete. Thanks!
This is amazing. I love Dan explains it all. Keep up the awesome work. Love your stuff.
why thank you, Steve
Haha 😄 Just noticed that the pedal is actually floating in the video. Great video!
this is what I've been looking for. Going to have to buy one.
You guys are so weird and I mean that in the best possible way. I love it.
Can't not weird. Thank you!
Peter Parker forgot to take his glasses off before he put on his spidey suit.
Yep. Gonna get it.
I watched this video because I love the pedal, but it turned out to be a slightly bigger learning curve than I anticipated. The on screen antics were a nice bonus. Especially watching someone in the background who thinks they're 🫥 invisible!
What a cool design 🙌 and what a great and funny video 😂 👏👏👏
This might get dangerous for my Condor on the board. 😯😱

Old Blood Noise endeavors where No Man Has Gone Before
I starting watching this as I love seeing you explain your pedals and keep on getting blown away by the design. Having a modular synth did not think I would want one but it’s now on my list just behind a few of your other pedals. I wonder how the envelope reacts to synths?
tap tempo?
getting big Whitecap vibes from this video. and I love it.
chaos leads the production
I placed my order!
Man, these videos get better and better. Scared of this pedal cause I’m very much a rook but man I may just pull the trigger on this.
We've been working on our AV chops, thanks for saying so.
I've been making more sample based music lately and I'm seriously considering throwing this on my choppy sounding stuff.
Absolutely wonderful pedal for experimenting and sound design, terrible for using in different ways during a live gig! We need presets and MIDI control!!! :D
And with the presets, a way of storing and restoring them so you can reload favourites for different songs/gigs.
Otherwise, I'm totally in love with this pedal and if I had the money, I'd add it to my Mondegreen and my Minim. Thank you!
I love this video. One thing that I still don't understand (maybe I missed it) - Can I run a stereo signal into the Float and add both sides of the filter and have a stereo signal come out the other end? I'd love to add both lowpass and highpass filters that are affected by the LFOs, but to retain the stereo sound throughout the processing.
Many thanks
I love Dan Explains it all videos but this is the first where the theatrics distracted from the demo in a way that made it a lil confusing. still love y'all and this is still my fav pedal video series, keep up the good work at OBNE!
whoah, awesome - am i correct to think you can bascially turn this into a harmonic tremolo by syncing them and setting one to HP and the other to LP? i guess you can’t sync it to time with a click input, you need to go by feel with an expression pedal?
yep, that's effectively how that would work!
You guys make me less depressed about moving to Oklahoma...
Gotta find your circle of support wherever you find yourself. Sometimes we have to go to outerspace for it.
Wow, why haven't I been hanging all of my pedals in a floating peddle board configuration!?
Great idea 💡 never run out of room.
Yes!!
I want ! Can you do a video on the new attachment for float ?
Hey.Is the Filter a 2 pole or a 4 pole Filter? Greetings from Germany
Finally, after many years, you came up with something only The Happiness from Dwarfcraft had.
NOW, please PLEEASE do a kinda "half float", single filter :)
WMD Devices - Protostar, SubDecay - Prometheus 3?
Beautiful- but can you explain what type of filter it is? 24db? 12? Ladder? OTA?
Good question! It’s a VCA implementation of the KHN state variable filter, so second order (12dB).
ugh I really need this to run everything ever through
Oh man. If this just had MIDI or some way to clock it ...
Dear oh dear oh dear oh dear. I’m only 8 minutes in and already I’m beginning to fizz with excitement and mutter “I want one of those. I really f**king want one of those”. Send some to UK dealers asap. PLEASE
This is a crazy good video, shout-out to the visual artistry and expression! Most unique pedal video ever, by far.
Hey thanks, we try and have fun with it.
u guys are funny. sick pedal. Good work
Im really liking the sound of this pedal but would like to use it send and return from an analog mixer or an insert. How well does it handle line level signal or will it distort easily?
Handles it fine 👍
This is so stupid and I love it
Slightly frustrating, that this digitally controlled pedal doesn't have MIDI capabilities. There are so many amazing sounds in this box. I'd like to save and recall presets.
With your shift into stereo capabilities, might be, I don’t know, a good time to revisit the headphone amp.
I mean, the ability to drive a speaker would be coo, as would an aux input, but at least the ability to pass the signal(s) on to an amp (or amps) or for direct recording, etc.
Pretty please?
Also, can’t wait to get my hands on a Float. Brilliant stuff, as usual. :-)
I love you guys, there I said it, now sue me!!
it's pretty rude to ask it here, but does anyone know how it compares with 3LEAF pedals?
how's the sound quality? how pleasant is the filter itself.
there's no way i could try one out in my country..
not rude at all. Can't speak to the comparison, but the sound quality is top shelf. what country are you in?
@@oldbloodnoise
Israel, in the middle earth..
Wait, are those the uniforms from Armageddon? Like the Freedom and Independence crew? Bruce Willis?
Love this dual filter pedal design! Will it accept line level without issue?
Yes it will
@@oldbloodnoise Excellent! Thanks for the reply. Looking forward to picking one up. Cheers! :)
Crap - another thing I gotta buy
Is that Eric Wareheim?
You guys are way too serious! Lighten up! Have some fun! LOL! ;-D
all work and no play makes OBNE party all the time.
Cute - and expensive noise making toy. Any sounds that can be used to play music?
Damn, Dean
That is really up to the user, I can't find anything usable in the EQD Data corrupter pedal but some people can. What is usable/music is subjective.
Absolutely the worse demo of this pedal
Dope that they pinned this
Absolutely the wOrSe comment
the worse comment
Is every hipster pedal company owned by dudes with mustaches? 🤣
i don’t have a mustache
If that's all the expression pedal does, I find this pedal totally UNDERWHELMING... of course, if I tried to explain it "all", I might say it was you, and not the pedal.
Damn, I don’t know if I’ve ever been called totally underwhelming. I’m still not sure if I have, but what a moment nonetheless!
