Tyseley Locomotive Works Open Weekend - 18/06/23

Vintage Trains opens the gates of Tyseley Locomotive Works to the public for the first time since 2019, offering a behind-the-scenes view at a number of locomotive overhauls and constructions on sight. Coinciding with the centenary of the GWR Castle Class locomotives, Didcot based 4079 'Pendennis Castle' was on-hand to perform shuttles along the site's demonstration line, in the company of Tyseley based Castles 5080 'Defiant' and 5043 'Earl of Mount Edgcumbe', with 7029 'Clun Castle' taking charge of the morning return of "The Shakespeare Express' to Stratford-on-Avon. A selection of the locomotives on site include BR Standard Class 8 71000 'Duke of Gloucester', new build GWR Grange Class 6880 'Betton Grange' and currently awaiting overhaul, LMS Jubilee Class 5593 'Kolhapur'.

Nice video, I visited on Saturday. To add to the list, between 71000 and 4936's boiler are the frames of the new build GER Holden F5 789.

No problem, I think they have attached a number plate to the bunker but that was hard to see at the open day. I have seen their stand at Tyseley and other events before but they weren't there this time.
