- Shrink Sleeves are used as a tamper evident and resistant seal over the tops of bottles and jars. Also known as tamper seals, shrink sleeves are generally used in the food, beverage, pharmaceutical and general consumable packaging markets. The sleeves are placed over the product and shrunk with the use of a Heat Gun, fitting perfectly around the product. They are available with or without a perforations and are easy for anyone to apply.

Thanks for your message regarding the Shrink Sleeve Video and you are 100% correct, we would tell customers to have 3-4mm on the fold lid or cap and 3-4mm locking the lid to the jar. The Shrink Sleeve video does show a much higher sleeve and that was to demonstrate and show how the sleeve works. Thanks for the feed back.

@@cidamussplendens423 It is our opinion that whilst a hair dryer is adequate for testing, a proper heat gun will give you the better amount of heat and air flow and will provide the best results in a more efficient manner.

I’ve looked at your website, thank you. Is this shrink film is that correct?
Technically Shrink Sleeves are made from a shrink film, but shrink sleeves are a tube of film available in different widths with or without perforations. So you wouldn't use shrink film (sold in a flat double folded film), you could only use a shrink sleeve for this purpose.

Would a blow dryer supply enough heat to seal the wrap?
Hi Shari, whilst you could use a blow dryer if testing samples, you simply do not get the heat or power from a hair dryer that you get from a hot air gun to get a proper professional finish.

Hi, the purpose of shrink sleeves is not to prevent leakage, it is a tamper evident band. So if it has been removed it is a way of determining if something has potentially been tampered with.

Hi Yayne 009, Shrink Sleeves are not about sealing a bottle or jar so won't stop it from leaking - this is what the lid is for. Shrink Sleeves are about tamper evidence or tamper resistance.

If you're enquiring about leakage, shrink sleeves are a tamper evidence type of packaging. Other than that, the choice is yours and outside of our realm.

Hi Katie, There are no stupid questions. I don't think the torch would be hot enough to shrink the tamper seals.

U can use a heat gun or if u want something way cheaper use a hair blow dryer. But heat guns are very cheap. Just have to play with settings u don’t want to burn the shrink sleeve

U do know all those shrink sleeves are the wrong size for those bottles right? That’s why u get so much material on top. U should never have no more than 4mm to fold on top.
HAVANA SCP you are right. To shrink that small precut sleeve films with that heat shrink gun , I can also do it with a hair dryer .
