It really hits the gut when you had a rough day and while the sun is setting, you hear their call. I always told my friends that I will do the dove call when I think we need to leave a place really quickly
Yes, I am so confused with these videos, what makes people born from the turn of the century to a decade later special when it comes to hearing on of the most common birds???
This was just a huge part of my childhood when I was real little and when I woke up and the sun glaring through the blinds as the smell of wonderful breakfast my mom is making and I get out of bed to say good morning to my mom and just knowing it will be a good day...
Bro i was born after 2009 and this was literally my childhood. Waking up to this sound on a crisp, cold morning, feeling a cool breeze through my window. Silence through my room- aside the mourning dove coos.
Yea same here, I was born in 2011. When I hit around 4 I started to always hear these out on mornings n afternoons, it stopped when I turned 7 bc I moved to a city sadly. Wish I can visit my old town 😔.
One of my first memories was walking down the street with my great grandpa 9 years before he passed away, I was 3, back in 2002... Three of these doves were in the biggest tree near his house, and the air was completely silent. No car noises (we were beside a highway), no planes (he lived near an airport), and it was completely silent, then this Dove made the coo I will never forget.
I remember, during 2023, waking up in July, looking out my window and seeing these birds just chipping away. Going to play Roblox, just good times. Now, school has taken over my life and I don’t feel self happiness anymore. Hopefully this summer break makes up for it.
Waking up to the sound of these birds with grass being cut and a warm breeze coming through with the smell of grass, then going outside to run around and ride bikes with friends and then my aunt coming outside with a a handful of popcicles😭
As a 2010 kid, I still relate This bird just makes me cry when I hear it It reminds me of when I used to wake up all miserable because I had to go to daycare. But then I hear this bird and it makes me feel happy and safe. At home. I just stopped hearing it when I was around 5 all of a sudden I wanted to know what that bird was called so I just searched up “that one bird” right there, memories. I miss that bird. I just want to hear it. One more time.
2010 kid here, I’m older than you think. I feel the same as you, the nostalgia makes me sad. I wish times were better like they used to be, I wish that I could be a little kid again. I’m 12, almost 13. I worry I’m not ready. I’m mature enough, but I’m not ready to handle being old enough to have responsibilities, I don’t want it and I want to be a kid. But I know that no matter how old I get, the mourning dove’s call will live on in my heart, reminding me that memories can fade, but will never be replaced.
As a 2010 kid I do not belong in the category with newer kids. I love this sound so much. It reminds me of sitting on my grandmother's porch swing while listening to the sounds of nature because she lives on a farm. It reminds me of afternoons when I would walk over to my next door neighbor's house and knock on the door, wanting him to come play with me in our yards. We would always climb the trees that marked our property lines and catch butterflies as they were flying by. I remember feeling so aggravated that the birds were so loud but now I never hear them. I heard them one morning before school this year and I just looked up, trying to find it. It brought back so many memories I almost started crying
My childhood was 2010-2017, i miss those days, i miss the vibe, smell, sounds, and generally how it was back then in my suburban neighborhood and if i could be stuck in a year for eternity it would be 2014 or 2015. Playing with friends nonstop everyday on the trampoline, on bikes, ding dong ditching, sports, slip and slides. Whatever it was it was always fun and that bird i rarely hear now but id hear it nonstop back then. Now when i hear it i remember how good my childhood was. ❤ Forever in my heart 2010-2017.
I was born 2011 and heard these birds such a calming noise reminds me when you would go outside with friends everyone goes home with grass stains on their pants. The birds dont chirp anymore....
I am born in 2010, but I really do find this bird's soung so nostaglic, in the morning I used to hear this kind of noise so much, it was so beautiful but I didn't know the worth of it yet.

Idk why this is nostalgic for so many people, these birds always chirping and chillin right outside my window whenever I wake up
The sound of the birds in the morning... i could hear the sound over and over again ❤
A mourning dove actually nested outside my window a few days ago. I used to think they were annoying but now I love them.
I remember having mental breakdowns trying to literally interpret them
