Aaron Enerio they see yachty, desiigner, and lil uzi vert, and skip over denzel all the time, he's easily one of the best freshmen from the past few classes.
This guy is good. I guess he doesn't have a great deal of exposure yet though... Yet he did manage to get features from Rick Ross and Joey Badass on this project so he's definitely going places. nattyjahmsmusic.wordpress.com/2016/12/20/assessing-the-new-breed-of-rappers/
Aaron Enerio imma be honest. I have slept on Denzel Curry. imma listen to his music. it just sucks that he was in a class that was total garbage. which lead me to think he was trash
Dunno, the beat doesn't do it for me I guess. Lyrics are crucial of course and I don't doubt that 'Zenith' is lyrically solid, but for me it's important but for the musical aspect of the track to be good as well, so it also has to work melodically and I'm not sure I'm too tuned in to the sound on 'Zenith'. I prefer 'ULT' and 'Sick and Tired' a lot better because they also work as a complete track, melodically + lyrically.
Amazing production and even better bars. Definitely deserves an 8-9. He himself is the most impressive part of this album, which is scarce nowadays, at least among young up and coming rappers. Some of the most vicious flows I've heard in a long time. He can physically outrap most rappers in the game
Surprised he didn't like Zenith one of one of my favorites love the Album lots of Bangers and Wavy Joints all with aggression glad he added a little bit of melody & harmonies he'll definitely grow more into his own as an artist. Florida has a dope MC on his hands man. 8/10 Dope Score
Brady Roscher Totally agree very wavy/Elevated/Jazzy Beat with a Very Dope Ambitious yet Introspective/Retrospective verse from Joey BADA$$ can't go wrong with that
If TPAB hadn't come out, this would've been ranked a 10 on most people's lists. They were just shy to rate it as high as that album when it's obviously one of the most ground breaking rap albums of all time. Probably my favorite East Coast hip hop album
This album is fantastic, strong 8 for me. No bad tracks in sight. This and kendrick's untitled makes the new flatbush zombies kinda go a bit sour and made me pick up betteroffdead again
all the Flatbush ZOMBIES fans who keep saying 3001 was better than Imperial.. y'all need to stop smoking.. I mean 3001 was mediocre at best.. Flatbush come out with the same weird ass stoner shit every year..
anthony fantano i've been watching you for like over 2 years now but can you tell me what the weird sound between 0:14 and 0:16 is about? i've never seen anyone ask about it.
This album aged fucking amazingly well. In 2016 I liked it, but wasnt blown away by it, but now I love this shit. In hindsight, it's probably top 5 of that year. Album is fucking gorgeous, no tracks that arent fire (including Zenith, love that shit too idgaf), great production, obviously crazy flows, solid lyricism, etc.
The thing with a laced Odyssey, it's one of thoses projects you don't think much of at first but after repeatedly listening to it you realize how good it really is. It's is defo better than D.R.U.G.S. but better off dead is still their best work
After many listens through the album, this album is fucking amazing. His delivery is insane but the only thing I wished he could switch up a little is his flow.
James Mandla Narcotics and Pure Enough aren't on the Apple Music version because he couldn't get samples cleared so he replaced them with Me Now and Good Night
I'm happy to see him getting reviews from you man, I grew up with him & he's really seeing his dreams come true, he appreciates your reviews @theneedledrop
I became a fan when I heard ULT last month . All his records go hard AF.. He is like the most Savage gangsta Nerd ever lol.. Can't wait for him to grow. Hope he don't go Mainstream man 😩..
Thank you Anthony! I was losing hope on your hip hop reviews (which just means I didn't agree with you on many lol), but we finally agreed again and you got me right back. Denzel is the epitome of the HEAT boiiiiiii
ayyyy you didn't disappoint with this review hell, this entire year has been pretty on point for reviews except oblivion access (I don't agree with opinions on tlop but still really good review)
Thank you Anthony for introducing me to Denzel Curry, this album is amazing.. dont know if i would of checked it out if i didnt watch this.. cheers mate
I enjoyed some of the bangers on this album but the final track was definitely my favourite - I'd love to hear Curry go in more of that slower, funky direction on his next project
I definitely dug Curry's flow on the XXL Freshman Class video. He stood apart from all the others. This EP is definitely what I expected from Curry. Excellent review!
I was a bit iffy with this at first but damn. He's not just rapping fast and aggresive but he's actually saying something. Got this and Kendrick on repeat.
Album was really impressive, thoroughly consistent

everyone saying shit about xxl 2016 trash but everyones sleeping on this denzel
Aaron Enerio they see yachty, desiigner, and lil uzi vert, and skip over denzel all the time, he's easily one of the best freshmen from the past few classes.

Aaron Enerio IKR but dicots sick
G herbo and denzel curry are the best 2016 freshmen yet they're the most underrated
that instrumental at the end of Knotty Head is amazing
Rick Ross goes so hard on that track
The most slept on rapper of 2016
I kind of agree but still Bas is the most slept on
Andrew Oketch the based god is heavily slept on
2016,2017,2018 he still the most slept on
Still slept on 2 years later :(
Lol SecretHypeMan is highly slept on guy only 15 and making really good music

How Zenith is your least fav perplexes me lol
I actually don't like Zenith too much either.
Swaganomics 101: Jimmy Rustles Why though?
Dunno, the beat doesn't do it for me I guess. Lyrics are crucial of course and I don't doubt that 'Zenith' is lyrically solid, but for me it's important but for the musical aspect of the track to be good as well, so it also has to work melodically and I'm not sure I'm too tuned in to the sound on 'Zenith'. I prefer 'ULT' and 'Sick and Tired' a lot better because they also work as a complete track, melodically + lyrically.
Swaganomics 101: Jimmy Rustles The way Joey and Denzel flow over that nice atmospheric beat is sick imo
Zenith is also my least favorite just because it gets repetitive at times, still an absolutely stellar track tho
ive listened to this thing over and over, its a 9 imo shit is fire start to finish
Same bro even after 5years

Denzel is one of the only new "underground" rappers who have turned out to be actually good.
Amazing production and even better bars. Definitely deserves an 8-9. He himself is the most impressive part of this album, which is scarce nowadays, at least among young up and coming rappers. Some of the most vicious flows I've heard in a long time. He can physically outrap most rappers in the game
Tab13oo is gonna be a 10/10.
Admirał Hax july 27th
+Droze Now I know.
+InBrooken Black Metal Terrorist is way better live, but the snippet sounded nice too.
Admirał Hax melon better give this a 9/10 or 10/10

ULT goes so fucking hard
Surprised he didn't like Zenith one of one of my favorites love the Album lots of Bangers and Wavy Joints all with aggression glad he added a little bit of melody & harmonies he'll definitely grow more into his own as an artist. Florida has a dope MC on his hands man. 8/10 Dope Score

why was zenith your least fav track?? it was fire!! well come to think about it, the entire album is also fire
So he dissed Spaceghost Purrp and honored A$AP Yams in one line?
A$AP mob over everything what u expect??
Purp referring to codeine
That was clever af
+Lawd Omega sneak diss
+freetodusimu he does diss ghost overtly though on one of the last tracks

Not a bad song on this album

That's a contradictory statement
I love seeing when the artists acknowledge the review, Curry tweeted this out so good to see he's looking out for feedback. Also great album.
Holy shit you gave an album something besides a 6!
"This Life" is my favorite track from Denzel. I was really stratified and did not expect this from Curry. Really dope project.
such a good album. i got hooked as soon as i heard ult.
I'm sorry I'm 0:16 in I have to stop and just listen to this shit. My favorite rapper right now easily. DON'T SLEEP ON DENZEL
did this man say "ult" instead of "u-l-t" like its supposed to be said???
anthony fantano i've been watching you for like over 2 years now but can you tell me what the weird sound between 0:14 and 0:16 is about? i've never seen anyone ask about it.

my mixtapes free download and
It's on Spotify now.
Rai Gresham Get a soundcloud Denzel Curry's page has all three album.
After many listens through the album, this album is fucking amazing. His delivery is insane but the only thing I wished he could switch up a little is his flow.
Zenith is amazing, Anthony..
Why did you completely gloss over This Life? That track was fire!
+Alan Simon love that track, i was waiting to hear what he was gonna say about it
This album was a 11/10, Fantano hates rap
I have Apple Music, and the songs narcotics and pure enough aren't on the record? But we have a song called Good Night. I'm confused
I'm confused as well
James Mandla Narcotics and Pure Enough aren't on the Apple Music version because he couldn't get samples cleared so he replaced them with Me Now and Good Night
Yeah, "Me Now" and "Good Night" aren't half as good as "Narcotics" and "Pure Enough".
Matt Silva Good night is better than Narcotics
been waiting for this review, glad people are realizing his potential.
"A wild Rick Ross appears" xD lmaoo
I've been waiting for you to review this for like 4 days, thank god you didnt make me mad like you always do with your reviews.

Thank you Anthony for introducing me to Denzel Curry, this album is amazing.. dont know if i would of checked it out if i didnt watch this.. cheers mate
Scored higher than DAMN.
BoredOfYou can’t blame
I mean its better
Dang
GUY PRODUCTIONS I think the concept of DAMN. is much more interesting, it’s the execution where I think this album is stronger
I enjoyed some of the bangers on this album but the final track was definitely my favourite - I'd love to hear Curry go in more of that slower, funky direction on his next project
Zenith worst track? Really???????:
zenith at least favorite is crazy
Better than Flatbush album this shit was fireeeee
And ur avatar meech? Disgrace...
I definitely dug Curry's flow on the XXL Freshman Class video. He stood apart from all the others. This EP is definitely what I expected from Curry. Excellent review!
nyck caution "Disguise the Limit" album is complex and powerful
I was a bit iffy with this at first but damn. He's not just rapping fast and aggresive but he's actually saying something. Got this and Kendrick on repeat.
Zenith & Knotty Head are so good
knotty head is best song on the project
+jake j Yeet it's ULT and sick and tired and zenith
Didnt even mention "This Life" the best track on the album
He is lyrically one of the best rappers out right now
Solid 8.5/9 out of 10 IMO
This is the year of the 8
This album is incredible. Been a fan of Denzel ever since I saw him open for Joey B at his concert
I fucking love this mixtape, I need a physical copy
Great video Anthony! Really feeling you on this one.

Good god this guys reviews are great. Would love to see him review more classic rap albums
I'd give it a 10 out of 10.
This is my favorite project of 2016 so far.
knotty head the best track, denzel curry: bumping speaker knockerz rico story when i see the chopperz🔥🔥
*coppers
Yeah agree, this album is easily a 8. I wouldn't say it's any higher, he doesn't do anything super ambitious, but that's not a bad thing.
I wonder how he would feel about the rerelease of this album that replaced “Narcotics” and “Pure Enough”, with “Goodnight” and “Me Now”
I was listening to this all day thinking if fantano doesn't give this at least an 8 then i'll be baffled. he didn't disappoint!
He never disappoints fam
lmao the butt hurt flatbush fans. I have bumped the zombies more that 90 percent of you and i still agree. this album bangs
The first Denzel Curry ‘8’ of many
y'all hear that cat at 3:45?
I loved that more introspective side from Denzel Curry's lyrics on this project, yet still he didn't lose his energy
it's strong 8/light 9 for me
10/10 review it again
1 year ago today and it gives me chills
