Man do I miss mine. Had one in the late 90's early 00's. Sounds, feels, and plays even better than this video does it justice. Still, this sounds great and I'm very glad to see one again. Thank you.
Thanks Will! I really appreciate it! My videos are intended as proof of fix type, and I have to say the clean channel of the vintage club series is amazing! And the sound of this recording doesnt pay justice of how warm and full the room was while I was playing. Unfortunatelly were I am those amps are really rare, but maybe where are you located it may come one out on the used market. If so, get a deal and take it home... its heavy but sound great!!!
@mikestormm You're not wrong about the clean channel or the natural warmth those amps provide at all. I was surprised to find a guitar combo with a "15 when I came across mine. One of things I loved so much about it at the time.
@@willredelsheimer Strange choise the 15 inch speaker, but I think it worked. The only bad thing of this amps is the cab that is made from mdf, heavy as hell.
Sad to hear you sold the amp. It has a nice honest sounding clean ch, and a decent drive ch, with the help of an overdrive infront, the drive ch sings. Sometimes those amps come up on the used market for really little money... who knows
I own one of these and stopped gigging with it a long time ago. It sounds great when it is in good working order, however I had to get some tubes and caps replaced before it was even five years old. To try and make it last it is a good idea to have a big fan running behind it. The channel switching is a nice option and get a stereo Y-cable for the effects loop. I never had the need to use an overdrive/distortion/fuzz pedal with this amp. The channel switching button on top is finicky so use a footswitch instead. It was a good idea to put casters on the bottom.
those amps have only 1 thing bad... heavy mdf cabs, after that the clean is very nice and the drive ch seems sterile but with a little push of an overdrive pedal, sounds great.
Thanks Tommy for your comment! The VC50 is a great sounding amp, the clean channel is sweet, and great for pedal uses, the drive channel its so so, but using it with a ovedrive pedal boosting a bit the signal, helps to make it sing. Bytheway the 15" speaker is a nice feature. My only concern is the mdf cabinet, its too heavy. Having a plywood one will help to loose a couple of kgs.
sounds pretty dynamic, it may be the kind of amp that I'm looking for. Di you achieve the changes between distorted and clean just through volume knobs on guitar?
Hi Paolo, the amp sounds really nice. Clean ch(ch A) is very dinamic, chimy but has a nice bottom. Overdrive ch (ch B) is ok, doesnt have to me the wow factor, but its honest. Each channel has its own volume control so you can set to your liking, and each ch has its own reverb control too. The one in the video has 4x el84 as power tubes and a 15 inch speaker. The only downside of this amp is the cabinet, its made out of mdf and its heavy as a rock. If you find a good deal but has the cabinet not in great condition, take it and make a new cab out of plywood. You will get an overall light amp.
Unfortunatelly yes, the entire cab is made out of mdf plus, depending on what type of Vintage Club you find, 1x15 speaker adds its weight too. But if they works as they should, they sound great.
Do dogs chase cats? Did the little piggy cry wee wee wee all the way home? Do wood chucks chuck wood? Can switching to Geico really save you 15% or more on car insurance?

Are these amps heavy?
