Thank you so much making this video! My daughter has been very curious about how everything is made lately and this helped both of us understand better 😁
Thank you for creating and sharing your videos. They are so great. My 5 year old daughter and I where talking about words that begin with WH, we got to the word wheat and she had so many questions. We found your videos and we both have learned so much from vocabulary to the actual process. Thank you!
You have patience of gold I would not be able to complete this project now baking is the easiest part but to get to the flower part is very difficult so kudos!
Hi, I so grateful for this video. With the economy tanking, I questioned whether I could raise, harvest and produce my own usable wheat flour. Ty ty ty : )
Breadmaking tip: AUTOLYSE ! Form a wet sponge with about 2/3 the flour and most of the water, cover, and let rest at room temp for 2-4 hrs, or overnight in fridge. During autolysis, and amalyse and protease present will begin scissoring up the long chain carbs and proteins, and develop the gluten without the need for excessive kneading. Then, add your remaining flour and your dry yeast, knead to form a loaf, and rise until doubled or tripled ... then bake. The autolysis does wonders for the flavor and texture, improves the gluten quality, and helps it leaven more easily and evenly. BTW, Ive found thst a 50:50 mix of wholemeal flour and bread flour give the best breadmaking results.
Great video! Subscribed❤ Growing your own is a great experience. I've grown soft Winter white and hard Spring red. Now I grow some einkorn and spelt, and purchase organic wheat berries AND I still purchase organic wheat flour...just don't have the time to dedicate to full flour production. I feel like I got the most out of my homegrown by sprouting the berries and incorporating the sweet chewy little nugs into my yeasted bread loaves, quickbreads and hot cereals. My spelt and einkorn are specifically to go into multi grain flatbread that I vacuum pack to last me all year.

Was super stressed out and in a bad mood trying to get schoolwork done and watched this to help with an assignment. In the end this video helped me to de-stress a little bit, thank you so much :)
What a great job. I have been meaning to do something like this myself. I've wondered if its really necessary to get out all the chaff. Fiber is good for you haha
I love to see this! I love seeing people knowing how to do stuff old school. We are so privileged. Who knows we might be heading into times where you would need to learn how to survive. This generation is something else. Knowing how to forage, grow your own food, hunt and fish. All very necessary stuff to learn. It’s just sad
This is crazy! I've always wondered about this process and what happens from wheat --> bread. I'm much more appreciative of going to the store and simply a loaf of bread now.

So, do you think that your bread is gluten-free? Do you think that gluten is added to regular whole wheat flour in the store? Or do you think that the gluten is already in the wheat naturally?
@@n.a.garciafamily So that's just enough to plant for next year. Interesting. I'd love to be able to grow enough for a season. First I need the property. Lol. What size area do you think would be necessary for say a family of three? Curious of your thoughts. Thanks.
@@bigbrother8285 He got 5 lbs of wheat berries from 25 x 25. Do the math on how much wheat/flour you use in a year. 5 lbs of wheat berries yields 5 lbs of flour unless you sift out the bran.
I have wondered for ages Why do Americans call the seed a ‘berry”? The encyclopaedia Britannia states “berry, in botany, a simple fleshy fruit that usually has many seeds, such as the banana, grape, melon, orange, and tomato. As a simple fruit, a berry is derived from a single ovary of an individual flower. The middle and inner layers of the fruit wall often are not distinct from each other. Together with drupes (e.g., cherry, mango, and olive) and pomes (e.g., apple, pear, and loquat), berries are one of the main types of fleshy fruits.
I'm curious as to how many ounces or pounds of flour from the full harvest it yields. It doesn't look like a lot honestly, for hypothetical sustainable purposes. On average, a loaf of bread is around 18oz of flour, a 25 pound bag of flour is 400oz which can roughly get you 22 loaves of bread. One loaf baked per week can give you 5-1/2 months worth of bread before the 25 pound bag is depleted. It looked at most 4lbs generously, giving you 3, possibly 4 small loaves of bread, one baked per week would yield a month worth of bread per plot of wheat. So you would need around 12 of those plots harvested, broken down, sifted, and ground into powder, in order to have the luxury of bread all year around approximately.
I cut the head off, fashioned a whisk out of #4 awg stranded copper grounding conducted. #6 is too small and soft at 1800 rpm. Put head in 1 gallon bucket and whisk with a cover on bucket. Winnowed with a 4 “ 200 cfm exhaust fan.
This is a little bit close how they did it back in the Bible days but I guess the smash the kernels they used Round Rock that went round and round but they had to do for like 3 hours or so. And I'm sure they didn't put yeast or sugar in it. We need to see a video like that.
God has no son,Issa peace be upon him is his prophet and messenger , not son. He said the The Lord is your Lord and my Lord so worship him alone that is the straight path.
I'm glad you showed the container of seeds at the end. I was about to flip out if all that hard work went into making only two loaves of bread.
Haha, yeah
Oh I missed that. Certainly would have been disappointing.
This was so satisfying to watch. Thank you and god bless you and your holy bread

Nice video 👍! I think if you add eggs to the ingredients, and a little bit of baking soda powder it will give you fluffy bread.

Remember, there are many things we as humans cannot digest. There’s a reason cattle have 4 stomachs and spend all day eating or chewing cud.

how much pace do you have to plant in order to get one loaf of bread? this is pretty cool. never seen wheat harvested bbfore.

Thank you for the hard work and the knowledge you imparted to us.
This helped me greatly with my research towards my writing thank you.
Thank You for the great video and information. What kind of wheat did You plant and when? That proofed yeast, Is it hime made? Again Thank You.
You should be proud of yourself. Very nice job.
I have wheat grass seeds- berries. Would they grow into wheat they are certified organic?
Yes. Wheat berries are the same as seeds
Thanks man, greetings from Long Island
That is just magnificent! Very nice video, i wish i could try that bread.!
Is it necessary to rinse the wheat before making flour? Thank you.
Very interesting and answered the questions I had but I believe I stick to buying mine. Thanks
How much flower did you get from that whole field?
How would you store the hay to keep for the winter. Unlike the commercial bale that stack. Anyone have a suggestion. Love the video btw
That’s one issue here. He weed whacked it. You can thresh the wheat by foot and then use the resulting hay for other purposes.
Respect!!!!!! I would’ve given up after trying to get the first berry out. 🤣
So how many cups of wheat seed do you reap per cup of seed planted? Doesn’t seem like s bunch more??
Can most wheat grain be used to make flour?
Like the wheatgrass berries.
Thank You
Just amazing! Turned out great! Love the video!
One of the few people that will be ok in the coming years
What part of SC are you in? Great video. Learned some new stuff. Thanks!
How much did the crop yield ? Just two loaves of bread ?
That bread looks so good and better for you than a bag of white flour from the store 😊
It would've turned White if he had milled the grains into a finer flower.

What is the grain mill you’re using?
So, do you think that your bread is gluten-free? Do you think that gluten is added to regular whole wheat flour in the store? Or do you think that the gluten is already in the wheat naturally?
grains contain gluten natural, though some grains have less than others. You can buy gluten separately also.
why does it look so different from regular bread? could it be that it wasn't ground finely enough?
This is so cool. Thank you for sharing this.
Bro , how much time it took you to grind the floor, please let me know, because I want to buy that machine.
Great video, thanks for sharing!
What type of Wheat is this? Is it white or red wheat? Soft or hard?
where do u get the yeast from?
Could you have used water vs the fan?
How much wheat did you have to grow for each loaf?
Your chest Ink is really cool. Hell yeah
Informative, excellent vibes, great tattoo!
so what, is that just like... Grass? Like if I just dont mow a patch for a year...? or is that some kinda special grass
All that work to put seed oil in the dough?
Excelente video. Greetings from Brasil
Beautiful process!! Thank you!

Is it 2 breads yield only from that land?
watch till the end

Thank you so much! SUPER reactive.
For how much he grew how much bread can he make?
Depends. Says he grew about 5 lbs. Maybe 10 loaves depending on grind and if he uses white flour with it.
