Howard Kendall, Duncan Ferguson and me - Meet Ray Parr, who became big mates with Everton's greats
Ray Parr is an Everton icon.
He was there when the Toffees lifted the FA Cup in 1984 and was on the plane home from Rotterdam after they clinched the Cup Winners’ Cup 12 months later. He was even in the dressing room when the First Division title was won.
However, he didn’t score a goal for the club. He didn’t even feature in a game. He was just a top mate to so many of the players and the club’s greatest manager.

Ray used to be a member at Woolton Golf Club when I was a junior there. He saw me waiting at the bus stop one day with my clubs and gave me a lift home in his powder blue Merc! A lovely fella and great Evertonian

Ray sold my house around 1985 in come in to survey it and he saw Everton pictures on the wall he said one day I will take you to the match put you in the director's box and the player's lounge afterwards I took it with a pince if salt a couple of months later he turned up at my house took me to the Newcastle match in the director's box meet all the players afterwards a Man of his word an absolute gentleman
