    Base, Posture, Connection, Pressure -- note to self, need to look for these whenever something doesn't work (or works, but poorly)

    What does he mean by "i connect"?

      he lifts his shoulder up a little to get a stiff connection between the attacker's hands and his shoulder so he can drive all the force into the arm directly and can turn onto his side then. As long as this connection is kind of wabbely it doesn't work

    So connection comes before base?

      Base is typically always first. Note the connection can't really be made without that foot placement (base).

      Did you see him making a gi grip anywhere in this move? No? Then it is not specific to a gi.

      Only with gi obviously you can’t do it without gi
