Imagine having a scar on your chest where Everytime you dress up and see it, it reminds you of the hell you went through and the suffering and the poisen and injuries that you get trying to save your brother and he was still killed anyway. Not only that he did it protecting you
I think sometimes it’s a good thing in Luffy’s case remembering that might make him want to protect his crew even more and become even stronger so he won’t ever have to go through that again

I simply love that since the day Jimbei met Luffy he never ever left his side (even though they got geographically separated for some time), he’s been since day one a true Straw Hat member. Not only he risked his life to save Luffy physically on Marineford, he was also the one to psychologically bring Luffy back on his feet after Ace’s death.

And don’t forget Buggy is also a secondary tank for Luffy to react half way. Even Mihawk deal no damage to Buggy and together with Blackbeard, they walked out Marine Fort with minimal damage while gained a lot (Buggy became Yonko thanks to his livestream on Marine Fort)

I think jayce is a good foil for vander. Vander was loved in the undercuts for being kind to his ppl and was even able to handle the politicking with the big guys down there. Which is something jayce can’t do yet. The difference with jayce also is vander wants the cities to remain separate whereas Jayce wants to join it together to some degree. Ekko jayce vi and victor are great foils for each other in so many different ways. They all clearly need each other to protect both cities form crumbling in a civil war. Heimdinger and ekko meeting was great I think that will be the mentee who actually takes his advice and uses it effectively. I feel like I’m the same regard the doctor who saved jinx’s life will come into play as a mentor of sorts to someone as well. Probably viktor. I wouldn’t be surprised if that doctor was the same person who saved Jayce and his mother though that is kinda too predictable for how well the show is written. Season 2 gonna be crazy though

Believe it or not there's a bunch of fans that do think zoro made the scar. Especially those that know nothing about the manga so they don't know what's filler and what's not
I'm pretty sure a majority of people who watch the anime will probably connect the dots that the ocean's dream is filler, and that marine Ford is the actual reason. He got the X-shaped scar on his chest. Because I skipped over the ocean's dream. And didn't even know that that scene happened where he got cut.

Luffy's X scar is from idk the episode but it is a episode where Luffy with whitebeard came to save ace idk the name who killed ace but he is the one who make the X mark on Luffy he wants to kill him but are big man whitebeard saves him sadly whitebeard died and Blackbeard stole his df. I always felt like Luffy keeps his shirt open and unbuttoned now to show it off because, since Akainu attacked him and Ace the same way, he’s proud to wear that scar. It directly connects him to his brother in a visible way no one can deny.

I think jayce is a good foil for vander. Vander was loved in the undercuts for being kind to his ppl and was even able to handle the politicking with the big guys down there. Which is something jayce can’t do yet. The difference with jayce also is vander wants the cities to remain separate whereas Jayce wants to join it together to some degree. Ekko jayce vi and victor are great foils for each other in so many different ways. They all clearly need each other to protect both cities form crumbling in a civil war. Heimdinger and ekko meeting was great I think that will be the mentee who actually takes his advice and uses it effectively. I feel like I’m the same regard the doctor who saved jinx’s life will come into play as a mentor of sorts to someone as well. Probably viktor. I wouldn’t be surprised if that doctor was the same person who saved Jayce and his mother though that is kinda too predictable for how well the show is written. Season 2 gonna be crazy though
