it is quite hard to move all that snow with snow shovel only. More than 1 time, especially if it is not fluffy but wet and heavy. So you wont be happy soon. Roads will become 1 way only, cars will stuck in snow every mile.
Enjoy no snow! Seriously. It looks pretty and Christmasy, sure. Maybe come visit, and experience skiing or sledding. BUT, I can tell you as someone from Cleveland, Ohio, USA (somewhere that gets a lot of snow), it’s not that great. Here’s how a typical blizzard day goes. - You set your alarm early for the morning to prepare. - Wake up an hour earlier than usual, have a quick breakfast. - It’s roughly -15° C (for a common example) and the snow is coming down inch by inch every hour, so you take 15 minutes to put on boots, a coat, a scarf, a hat, gloves, and anything else to keep warm. - Get outside and dust all the snow off your car, and then scrape any layers of ice. Turn on the car with heat so it doesn’t further accumulate. - Shovel your driveway, which can have as much as 1 or 2 feet of snow from overnight. Takes time, up to an hour and is very exhausting. Otherwise your car will get stuck. - Your skin is dry, your hands are numb, and barely mobile. - Finally you leave, and you’re practically in a space suit on the way to work. - Despite the plow teams efforts that they’re trained to do since it’s a normal thing, the road is dangerous and not everyone cooperates properly. You drive slow but you still slide and other people are sliding. Sometimes might see a car in a ditch or crashed into a median on the freeway. - You finally arrive at work. Time to take off your literal space suit of layers which are now wet from the heat in your car and your own body. Your skin is wet and clammy. - Work your shift and possibly repeat the process of dusting and scraping your car all over again as well as putting your gear back on.
I am a central Va resident a bit below Loudoun County. Drive wise it's not far but apparently makes a big difference in weather. I can tell from the footage the temp was close to 32 F. based on how quick your driveway thawed out the moment sunlight hit it. So one/two days pass before things are back close to normal. Maybe this season 2018/2019 it will be much colder and take days to thaw out. I grew up next to Winchester VA. It's north enough to get those freezing temps and snow that doesn't melt for days. I kind of miss that part of my childhood.
At 2:20 When the sun shined on the snow. It looked so Beautiful and Bright. I live in Victor Montana. We had have some winters where a blizzard would come and it would snow deep. We have a dry cold so our snow is never wet and heavy, but light and sparkly. The blizzard goes on for days the snow gets up to 12 inches. Then an Arctic front comes in and it gets very freezing below zero and the clouds shrivel up, and the next day there is a clear blue vibrant sky with not even a tiny cloud to be seen. The sun shines so bright, and it is too cold for the snow to melt at all, instead the snow sparkles like Star Dust in the sun.
snow as a tourist is amazing especially if you are seeing it for the first time. But as a resident, it's pretty annoying. You have to drive 5 miles per hour, cars sliding everywhere. one snowstorm(not even our worst) it took 1.5 HOURS to get home from school on the school bus. the school is 2.5miles(4 km) and normally takes 5 minutes...
It's really cool watching the visibility drop below 1/4 mile at times. I live in central New Jersey. We only received 22" of snow from that storm. (I have a short video of it on my UA-cam channel.) I was disappointed. Maybe we'll have a good one in the 2019-20 season.

Now this is a snowstorm. I've been looking at timelapses where it will snow 4-6" and the captions will say "Blizzard timelapse" or "28 inches of snow in 24 hours" and it will just be regular snowfalls with little or no wind. This has buried plants, buried mailboxes, buried fire hydrants, buried cars, big drifts, big snow mounds and big plows. This is what a snowstorm timelapse should be.
In Colorado at Vail you can watch the snow pile up like that in real time. Someday I'll do a timelapse where a Greyhound bus gets buried from the ski loft.
I used to get confused as to why does the snow accumulate on the pavement first instead of the grass. But I figured out why. It’s the type of snowflakes that are falling. This is a dryer type of snow. I’m in south Texas and when it does snow it’s almost always the heavy wet variety. I’ve only seen dry snow like this(in the video) 3 times and it wasn’t very much.
based on this video it seems very few people have snow blowers. it's clearly not a cost thing, is it the location, you don't get snow very often? if it is, i'd still keep a $400 snow blower tucked in the back of the garage for days like this haha. props on doing that all by hand, i'd have a heart attack.
We here in Montana call those Cold Snowy Sunny Days Winter Wonder Weather Patterns. We rarely get them, but they are oh so Beautiful when we do. When Our Winter Wonder Weather Patterns end it clouds up again, gets very warm like 45 degrees, and then it rains. Within 2 days the snow is completely gone from The Rainy Thaw.
Its sad to see all the snow melt
Daniel Blanco it doesn’t melt in this
Ι agree
A relief for people who can’t wait for spring.
well we don't have to worry about it, we had enough snow, we also have summer!
NOO WINTER IS COMING!
Being from a dry climate my whole life I would love to experience something like this.
It's a lot of fun.
@@remissiveslave Yeah
who knows maybe one day you will :3
Until you need to shovel your stuck car out.
@@peteranserin3708 I'm my opinion it's worth it
Watched a lot of these, yours is by far the best. Love your capture of moving shadow.
0:13 it snowed like that early in the morning before school few years ago.it was still dark, but the street lights made it SOOOO pretty!
I love watching and doing these time lapse. Watching the clouds move in is just amazing to me.
Ahh, I wish I had snow like that... but unfortunately I live in south east England☠️
ISeeYouLookin Try live in South England
Same I live in Chatham

Wow. This is so cool video. In southern Finland we have at the moment zero snow and about 5° celcius. Black Christmas.

It was so cool when the cars were driving and there was flashes all around. It was literally soo cool! 1:03
If there were fairy lights on those little trees out the front it'd look real beautiful as a Christmas card scene at night!
Watching during quarantine waiting for Christmas....
I loved this! And what a beautiful neighborhood!
Всего за 2 дня выпало огромное количество снега, у нас в Сибири снегу столько нет, если быть точнее то всю зиму морозы, но без снега.
Wow, I never realized Virginia got snow like that.

We're looking for a similar pattern this February 2018, wouldn't be surprised if we get 2 feet of snow again
We had 18 inches of snow in the part of WV I live in. The mountains got way more.
I'm Pennsylvania we got a lot too
Pause at 0:36 and pretend the time at the bottom doesn’t exist. It’s looks so pretty. God I love snow!

Geesh... Snowstorm Jonas seemed like it was last week.
i'm watching this during a "snowstorm" and they said it'd be a big blizzard but I only got like 4/5 inches, sad. I live in NY tho
Here in PA, I got 38 inches of snow from that storm. It was insane.
Makes the 9 inches we got a couple of months ago seem tame.
This is amazing
Wish we could get some of that in Georgia
Watching the moon set before the sun quickly rose was surreal.

That's a lot of snow, but lucky you the ground was not frozen. So the snow is melting quite fast. Otherwise fresh snow increases snow layer every day.
BAU It took about two weeks for all of the snow to melt and the big snow mounds that were created from the snowplows lasted the entire winter
This was the storm that had me f***** up! 2 feet of snow! Ridiculous
why does it melt so fast?
General Dude because after it snowed the temperatures go above freezing
I can not understand that people drive so fast on the snow, it's completely unconscious, even suicidal ...
Fantastisch!!!
trying to start a time lapse yt channel any tips
The flash is running around the neighborhood
awesome
Why the hell are people driving in it?
That is kinda pretty and cool
