It's another way GOOGLE is invasive into our phones. Biggest mistake ever was to pre program GOOGLE into phones. I feel I don't really own or have control of my phone or speech. Socialist/communist GOOGLE controls it. HATE THEM
This is a freaking scandal. I want Google chat removed from my phone, not just disabled, but that demands me removing my whole Google account everywhere!! I never asked for this, I just want my old SMS application back. Just bought Samsung S23 and this thing is bloated with poison. The Google chat client is default, also when RCS is disabled.
@@markcossman200the original is better because it doesn't need to be connected to WiFi or data and if you don't have Internet you don't get the message till later. And won't even beep till is refreshed and connected
How do you use your physical SIM for texting? I already set it up as primary, but it is still using the eSIM to send. On Andriod 6.0 they aren't giving a break down of enabling which sim to use for SMS, Data, & Calls separately. It's bridging all together. So I dont understand why it isn't working.
Same for SMS which is frustrating of course. But, you can setup SMS as a backup. So 99.99% uses RCS which is secure, with chat features and enables high res pics / video .. etc. And in the edge case if there are issues it will retry as SMS.
Sometimes, when I need to send a text message to a person without a smartphone it won't deliver and when I get calls asking for an update on the thing I texted and they haven't gotten my text, it is very annoying
RCS enabled didn't work with app "SMS my GPS" so I bought another app Tasker. Still didn't work. Disabled RCS and both apps worked. Wasted 3-4 hours on this.
I use messages (texting) on my samsung. I don't use google messages. I see the blue dot on contacts and they can see when I have a blue dot. When Iwake up and as soon as I go on my phone, friends instantly text me good morning because the blue dot suddenly shows up by name on their phone, as they tell me. So I find this highly annoying that they can tell when I'm actively on my phone. I want to turn this off. I have no chat feature settings on my phone that says anything about RCS. Ive been looking in my phone for 2 hours. What do I do to turn this off on a Samsung A32?
I think Samsung uses rcs by default which is basically Google messages. I don't think anyone on this guys channel is going to respond to you. You're better off looking for a channel where members actually help each other
I've got a message that keeps coming through every two hours & I've blocked it for spam. Is there anyway to totally stop this please especially if I don't want to come out of RCS chats.
Where are regular sms messages? I turned off rcs and it all still looks the same. I still see my Google profile pic. I want regular Samsung messaging. Nothing linked to Google.
The message will not be sent if you do not have internet. A young relative of mine recently sent a message to say she was ready to be picked up. Her plan has unlimited texts and calls but only 8GB of internet. She uses that 8GB of internet carefully as it is limited and therefore turns data off. It's her data to use as she pleases. After she received an update this feature was turned on without her knowledge. She typed the message and hit send. The message was not sent. She didn't realise this and after 20 minutes she tried to resend the message. Once again this feature blocked her SMS. After an hour of not hearing from her an adult called her phone only for it to be picked up by a very scared and frustred young female. This is why this feature needs to be turned off and shouldn't be turned on by an update.

Im so confused i turned on rcs chat and messages didnt even come till later and keeps telling people im offline like wtf shit is stupid.
