Why does my old Government issue just seem like a mushy hamner drop. I'm use to other guns with a sharp sear break and sharp hammer strick. Could part of that be the firing pin spring as well?
Try new wolff xp hammer/mainspring and firing pin spring. Make sure its well lubricated with medium viscosity lube, not any sort of grease. Try a very through detail strip and cleaning really good, may be gunk in there gumming things up. Or get a can of gun scrubber or hornady one shot and blast it out real good
You answered your own question!! Old!! How old? If you know what your doing your gun needs to be taken apart! Besides gum inside your fire control you probably have spurs on the hammer drum and sear disconnectors! Pull the firing pin & extractor and clean out the boards. A 22 cal boar brush works
Thank you for the excellent video! I'm planning to build my own 1911 soon.
Sweet, I just ordered a 10-8 flat trigger for my build, I didnt know what I know now when I put the current trigger in 5+ years ago
Nice. Next trigger polish the back vertically the way the spring and disconnect slide. Every little bit....
Very informative. Excellent video.
Why take material out of the frame and not the trigger shoe?
Where could i purchase the stones used in these videos?

Sounds like a good deep cleaning would maybe go a long way
