@ They paired Elaine with some decent looking guys. Personality-wise it was more about 50/50 whether she or the guy would then torpedo the relationship (the argument about not using an exclamation point comes to mind).
@ Without writing a massive dissertation, it is infamously known that in studies, women rate 80% of men as "below average" looking. Standards are crazy. Didn't Elaine even briefly date a Kennedy?
Maggie Wheeler is as beautiful as she is talented. I instantly fell in like with her on the original Ellen sitcom, and she was great in Friends, Sienfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm and everything else she has ever appeared in. She really did deserve her own show and I'm surprised that no producer or network was smart enough to realize that.
Considering what we're seeing from the Hollywood moguls that make such decisions, it may be the case that they knew she was way good enough to have her own show but when all is said and done maybe she decided not to sleep with Producer X and Executive Producer Y. That's how it seems to work, a shitty business to work in, because shitty people run it.
you realize that Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Jerry Seinfeld, and Jason Alexander are all Jewish? As are over half the people who created, wrote, directed, and produced this show? and even Kramer's character is referred to multiple times as having a horse face? lmfao
okay sis, first of all, it would appear that you're a fucking idiot. since that's out of the way, go read up on Seinfeld, David, Alexander, Louis-Dreyfus, and the vast majority of the major players in the creation and writing of the show. Larry Charles, Peter Mehlman, Carol Leifer, to name just a few. all Jewish, all of whom self-identify as Jewish, and all of whom have mentioned how their Jewish backgrounds play a major role in their comedy or other work. I'm not "marking" anyone as Jewish who hasn't already identified themselves as Jewish and noted that this part of their personal identity has played a formative role in their careers. also, season 4, episode 14, "The Movie." the gang can't link up at the cinema so they're all describing each other to the clerk at the box office. George specifically asks if he's seen "a guy with a horse face, big teeth, and a pointed nose," referencing Kramer (who, by the way, is based on Kenny Kramer... who is Jewish). know what the fuck you're talking about before you even try calling me wrong you daft antisemitic taint boil.
lmfao look at you splitting hairs like it's your sole calling in life (aside from getting into arguments using multiple UA-cam accounts under different pseudonyms I guess). your words: "I've seen every episode multiple times and I don't remember Kramer being referenced to as having a horse face." I gave you a concrete example of when it happened in an episode and now you want to play semantics games about how one time doesn't count as "multiple times," instead of just admitting you were fuckin wrong. this is the dumbest part of the conversation anyway. if you can't accept when you're wrong and deal with it that's a You issue. also, I'm not Jewish, but I'm happy to report that I'm just as big of a slap in the face to you and your ilk from StormFront - I'm of Prussian German lineage mixed with Black on my mother's side. walking bastardization of the master race! and then I learned German and wrote a thesis on it. go cry some Nazi tears you utterly useless little shit.
We didn't see enough of Elaine talking at length to other women. Brings out a different side of her. Saw plenty of Jerry & George talking to both genders.
I guess you could say that Seinfeld was male-dominated, if you want to nit-pick that. There were plenty of one-off or recurring female characters, though.
They lampshade it a bit later, retconning it with Elaine being a man's woman, but iunno. It would be nice, but that's 90s television for ya. In the very early seasons they were much more down to pull out characters who the main characters were already friends with, not just in relationships with, and it is much more conducive to this sorta thing.
She's decent in this role, didn't like her in Friends...but then again, I didn't like Friends all that much anyway (way below Seinfeld in terms of great shows, IMHO).
IshRona Iqbal - It does seem kind of strange to hear her voice when she isn't Janice lol....but really she only has to put it on a little. If you listen REALLY closely, you can hear a tinge of the "Janice drawl." lol
she's a good looking woman... cynthia I mean. Well, elaine, too, but in this case I was talking about cynthia... and she can act, too. Which makes her double likeable :)
I love how when Elaine tells her that George tried to poison his boss she says it in a cavalier way despite that the fact that it's an absolutely psychopathic thing to do lol
all the people that say seinfield was better than friends... just know that both Maggie and the guy that plays George (Alexander) both were on friends after this show
This was shot in 1992 and the episode is called The Fix Up Jeanice was introduced in Friends in 1994 in the episode "The One with the East German Laundry Detergent" Voila
it's kind of calming hearing her voice like it really is.
+Abigail Dalton right
Abigail Dalton yes after seeing the annoying janice for years
Abigail Dalton I know
Yes lol
Her real voice is cute!
I always thought this actress was one of the cutest, funniest, most underrated actresses of the 1990's. I wish she had been in more things.
dsmj
Same
Janice ruined that for her.
Loved her on friends
I know! I was so excited when I saw her in The Parent Trap!
Dsmj, she,s the best. She's in Seinfeld, X-Files, friends, 3 of the greatest shows of all time.
its so weird not hearing the janice voice haha but she's awesome in this show too
Oh come on!!!!! You mean it's awesome that she did FRIENDS to! God FRIENDS was so lame.
Seinfeld (at least in the first 7 seasons) is ten times funnier and better than Friends ever was.
Why the hate for Friends?
Well its the story that people want from friends cause its the kind of life people want
Maggie Wheeler looks so exotic and attractive when she talks in her real voice, she was so beautiful and speaks so gracefully.
1:26 Listening to Elaine describe George is like listening to most realtors describe a defective house.
Is George a "fixer-upper"? (I guess that's an understatement.)
"It kind of has termites..."
That's my job its not easy

@@americancitizen748 "kind of... Just KIND OF... "
She landed roles on two of the best shows ever...
Friends isn't one of the best shows ever. It's nowhere near as good as Seinfeld, at least.
@@not-so-smartaleck8987 I guess it depends on what you define is best. Financially, it was up there.
She’s in friends,Seinfeld , everybody loves Raymond and Ellen , a few more i think but I cannot remember now
Queen
Many actors did this. You’ll also see actors from Malcolm in the Middle, Psych, and The Middle on this show.
Maggie is really beautiful and has an excellent voice.
She's so funny, charismatic, and talented. Wonder why she never got a show of her own.
I don't know why she didn't get more episodes on seinfeld, she fits in perfect with the gang
Because she's fucking annoying?
Probably because she's not that funny or charismatic and very unattractive
Allen Quinn I know right, I love her too...she was in Everybody Loves Raymond too...🙂
Allen M. Quinn didn't have enough Weinstein in her.
Funny how her mannerisms are the same, but her voice is so different
Oh God, now that I've heard her ACTUAL voice, I now think she's super hot!!!
She actually is😂
That was a really good performance and a well-developed character. This almost came off as a pilot for a spin-off series.
I love the natural feel of this dialogue.
It's funny how every woman George ever dated was well out of his league.

@@palaceofwisdom9448 Well I guess men should get cracking, amirite
the "leagues" were a lot more murky back in the 90s. Not nearly as rigid as today's tinder era.
This is how her real voice is. It is more peaceful and sounds much nicer.

I wish she had been in it more. She would have fit in well with the rest of the Seinfeld crew. Sort of happily pessimistic.

1:21, that's why, Elaine doesn't suffer fools gladly and most wommana is dumb as fuck
She's like a mix with Fran the Nanny and Amy Winehouse.
Also a bit like Camila Cabello 😂
yup - horsefacedkilla
"Ohhh myy goddd" Love this actress xD
She's decent in this role, didn't like her in Friends...but then again, I didn't like Friends all that much anyway (way below Seinfeld in terms of great shows, IMHO).
Those two women together were excellent! Played off one another perfectly
I've always found Maggie very beautiful.❤

+sweetlife031 Does she do an accent or something? I don't watch Friends so I've never seen her on it.
0:20 is when Maggie starts to malfunction and go Janice mode
She changed her name and voice to avoid George’s eating habits but still lived in New York where she found Chandler
I love "Janice's" real voice and her on this show, didn't know she was on it until I found this clip. She is so underrated.
Oh My God ...
Chander BINg
Chanandeler Bong
That "I'm going to have to kill her" line was delivered perfectly.
She’s also in Parent Trap! She was one of the counselors at the camp the twins were at
OMG i literally LOVE her voice!!! wow... never thought id say that!
I always thought she was the most attractive girl. That hair,, the look.. just a great package.
Hi Maggie!
Omg her voice is so normally attractive!
Great actress!
She's certainly no Janice in this show
Charlton Nguyen - I know, lol...it's weird hearing her natural voice...cuz you look at her and all you think is: :Oh..my...God....it's Janice!!
Thank god. A mediocre show like Friends can have her. Seinfeld is too good for her, as a recurring, annoying character.
@@not-so-smartaleck8987 wasn't really Mediocre but Okay personal preference is a thing
George just eats the way we would all like to eat in public.
Extremely underrated actress.
Chandler will definitely marry this kind of Maggie, but Monica was the one from the start.
It's weird not hearing Janice voice but her normal voice is so amazing
she's a good looking woman... cynthia I mean. Well, elaine, too, but in this case I was talking about cynthia... and she can act, too. Which makes her double likeable :)
always thought she looked like amy winehouse
This scene makes me hungry all the time
3:21 we’ve seen George like that a few times and it’s always hilarious 😂
Elaine is the real star here. Incredible acting!
Nah, a bit overacted really. Cynthia shines instead.
I can't imagine Janice without the voice and laugh.
man! she's her acting is good!
Amazing! She's so talented!!!
Her voice sends a chill down my spine. 🥶
Maggie is such a talented actress.. iconic if one might say
I love how when Elaine tells her that George tried to poison his boss she says it in a cavalier way despite that the fact that it's an absolutely psychopathic thing to do lol
I'd probably use 'psychotic' in lieu of 'psychopathic'.
She should have had her own show .
Always love Maggie Wheeler as Janice
Janice is so beautiful. Oh. My. God
George tried to poison his boss. Then later he actually poisoned his wife. She died. 😂
2:37 the best part
Man she's been in Seinfeld, FRIENDS and HIMYM
She is such a great actress.
Love how she tries to sell George to here. What a tough sell!
An impossible sale.
Janice was on Seinfeld first? Woah! :o
Christopher Hargreaves They also had the Janice "laugh" (just not by her) on Seinfeld first too. Some girl in season 4.
Rev0UK1 No no no, that was the Elmer Fudd laugh.
liam kirk i dont know...id still say it inspired the janice laugh.
Oh you mean it inspired it. Lol
liam kirk exactly. I look both shows but everyone who's seen both can see how much was taken from seinfeld and used in friends
She's amazing.
all the people that say seinfield was better than friends... just know that both Maggie and the guy that plays George (Alexander) both were on friends after this show
OH MY GOD!
Her voice is beautiful and she looked so pretty ❤❤❤
I kind of just wanna watch a show with these 2 as the main characters
This was shot in 1992 and the episode is called The Fix Up
Jeanice was introduced in Friends in 1994 in the episode "The One with the East German Laundry Detergent"
Voila
Oh myy gawwwd. She's beautiful..
I really like the interactions between her and elaine

It's so weird seeing Janice but hearing a totally different voice come out. 😂

OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHH MYYYYYYYYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODDDD!!!
My favorite episode. She’s so natural
I could almost her the nasaliness
(not a word XD)
Such a great actress
This feels like when Maggie Wheeler is playing Monica
Except no.
I like how in the end elaine just gives up and says yup he is gonna be bald
Brilliant script and acting...
Beautiful lady too. Seen her on King of Queens too!
She was excellent when she occasionally appeared on Everybody Loves Raymond, too.
I guess her voice is not annoying after all!! Lol!! She actually has a pretty nice voice, not to mention the girl can sing!! =)
I love it shows women really chowing down.
Chandler: Janice?
Joey: Nah
Chandler : it's Janice!
"What happened?"
"Acting"
damn Jerry so smooth.
Im not fat im powerful lmao
She has the most beautiful hair! Especially in the first scene in the restaurant.
They should have made her George's wife.
It’s nice to hear her regular voice. I thought we would be getting Janice
OOOOHHHH MYYYYYY GOOOOOOOOD!!!!! IT'S JANICE!!!!
I KNEW THAT VOICE SHE USED AS JANICE WASN'T REAL!
ITS CALLED ACTING
OK, but what about that other one.. The Nanny?!
My face has a lot of character 😂
Soooo....now I've seen Monica (Courteney Cox) on Seinfeld and now Janice (Maggie Wheeler)....What are the odds? lol *laughs* :3
+sweetlife031 "Hellooo, Chandler Bing"
Friends is lame compared to Seinfeld.
Not-so-smart aleck I guess you aren’t so smart aleck FrIEnds is an amazing show!!!
Not-so-smart aleck why are you so salty you stupid prick?
OH. MY. GAWWWDD.
she's hilarious, I like her
Damn both Lanie and Maggie were on POINT in this episode! H-O-T!
These two should do a new show together,it would be great!!!!!!!!!
She's the second woman George dated that looked like Jerry.
The first.
She's into it. "It's the best seat in the house. Right next to the kitchen." And then George immediately blows it. Perfect!
She could have been a side character for elaine like newman is to kramer
"he tried to poison his boss." when you forget a plot point in an episode of Seinfeld and then hear it again completely freed from context.
mad props to George !!
She has also been in a epsiode in how i met your mother
Maggie also appeared as the cheating wife in the legendary episode of Curb your enthusiasm "The Palestinian chicken " 😂😂
She was also on Ellen
Listening to Elaine try to make George Costanza sound like a good catch... yeah, that's gotta be the hardest of hard sells.
i knew my love life was gonna be complicated when I found janice hotter than the 3 main girls
She did the best ever bitter woman performance on Californication
