For sure! Best advice I can give is make sure the songs are in key and have different soundscapes and general patterns. Finding a song that mostly lives in the high end and playing that overtop of a song that lives more in the mid range will almost always sound better than two songs in the same sound range imo.
Perfect. Keeping the lows on for both while chopping will make sure when each song is playing there’s bass. When playing an actual double you cut the lows on one so there’s no phasing issues and you just pick which song you feel like has the better bass and cut the bass on the other one
It’s really hard to find any information or back story to or on DJ Rectum Chops…. He’s not mainstream and is strictly underground and performs rectum chops daily….
Yep a double is two tracks playing at the same time, while alternating from time to time depending on the track. Usually tracks have fills or variations of the main drop every once and a while or a vocal. When that happens you usually wanna pick one you like more. And a chop is usually just switching between the tracks more consistently like every beat instead of every few bars when a fill happens
@@SlimChanceDubs Cheers mate! 👍 And, what is a Delay Drop? Is that what you meant by playing a fill/variation/vocal on it's own while chopping/doubling?
@@djpatch6754 so a delay drop is just a secondary buildup to the main buildup of the track. But instead of using drums and snares for the buildup it’ll have the main bass sound of the song with no drums underneath it. Some delays are longer than others but usually anywhere from 1-8 bars is typical. I’ll link some examples below. And as far as vocals or fills that’s more to add variation to the double rather than a delay. Since the vocals and fills happen throughout the drop. It’s just an opportunity to give the crowd context to what they’re hearing cuz a lot of people won’t realize it’s a double until they hear a vocal or fill they recognize.

so leave the lows at 12 for chopping doubles, but for playing doubles out i should cut one of the lows, correct?

Please - what's a Chop, and what is a Delay? And, is a Double Drop like Chop, but, sometime you'll let both tracks play together???
