    Gigantomachy! When Hercules fought alongside with his godly family, and at the side of his father Zeus, and at the same time Zeus was also for the first time fighting alongside his favorite mortal son. Hercules's role in Gigantomachy, was the prelude of Hercules's ascension to godhood.

      @pseudomonas03 Рік тому +9

      @@thalmoragent9344 Hercules is still mortal in Gigantomachy, since the prophecy said that the Olympians could win against the Giants, only with the aid of the most powerful mortal, and that was Hercules. So the events of Gigantomachy are taking place, before Hercules's death, and his ascension to godhood. Also you can see that Hera still hates Hercules here, which confirms that Hercules is still mortal (we know that Hera put an end to her hate towards Hercules, only after his death, and his coming to Olympus, when Hera gave at Hercules, her daughter Eve, as wife).

      @@tyanou2886 Nope. Titanomachy was first before the creation of mankind. It involved Chronus and the other titans (offspring of Gain and Uranos and first ruling deities) against Zeus and his brothers (offsprings of Chronus) with Cyclopses and Hekatonheis (also sons of the premordial deities). In the Gigantomachy which event was much later occured the Gigas (snake legged Giants born from the blood of Oranos) was pitted against the then established Greek Pantheon and a mortal man (Heracles).
      In short the Titanomachy was about who rule the world and the Gigantomachy was about revenge for the imprisoned Titans.

    • @savathunthewitchqueen3858
      @savathunthewitchqueen3858 Рік тому +6

      @@tyanou2886 Titanomachy was the battle between the newly risen Olympians and the Titans, which begun by the only child of Kronos that wasn't swallowed, Zeus. The Olympians tried to basically rebel against their parents, uncles and aunts, to take over the rule of the world. The Olympians were also joined by several Titans like Prometheus, Helios, Selene etc. while several other Titans remained neutral in the war, like Oceanus. The Gigantomachy is a battle between the Olympians, who had already established their rule over the world, against the Gigantes (Giants), a new race of Godlike creatures born by the Goddess Gaia (making them siblings of the Titans), who sought revenge for the fate of her children and wanted to destroy Olympus to establish their rule yet again.

    Imagine Herakles arriving to the combat of the giants and upon the battle he hears thunder roar. He smiles believing his father has come to join him as he watches a bolt of lightning strike down one of the Giants. Before Herakles could turn around to greet his father a objet flew by him with blinding speed. Herakles spins around to see the object land in the palm of a stranger, the object in hand appearing to be quite an enlarged single handheld hammer. The stranger is clearly not Zeus yet wielded the power of thunder. With fiery red hair, a enlarged physic, and a fury in his eyes glaring not at Herakles but the incoming giants approaching the two.

    Wierd that the comics depict the giants as having elemental traits when in traditional statuary they are always depicted as anguipeds. Its Disney's insidious influence creeping in I bet.

    It's also note worthy to point out that Heracles arrows were coated in the Hydra blood which is a powerful deadly poison.
    I also don't think that "took to another land" is a real thing because the mother of the Giants is Gaia, the Earth, and well, she's everywhere. Another land is still Gaia.

      What they mean is that they had to lure them outside their place of birth, which is believed to be Halkidiki (others claim Thrace).
      Also Gaias rage after the battle gave birth to Typhon

    Animation is beautiful but it basically says the gods win the end. Where's the details about the giants themselves.
