I'm a type 1 diabetic I was 19 years old when I found out, I remember googling side effects and seeing diabetes and my family also not believing me!! This story 100% resonated with me as someone who still struggles to maintain my blood sugars daily I often wonder why me and what the purpose of having it is. My dream is to just educate people on TY1D❤
This story is crazy identical to mine with also being 16 at diagnosis and being in DKA. It is so scary the thought of it being fatal if you hadn't had gone in to the hospital when you did. Thank you for sharing your story Rylee!
My son was recently diagnosed. I was asking the same questions as Rylee. Why, why does have to be my kid? I cried a river for two weeks. So unfair for young kids to have this.
I got diagnosed at the age of 12 and I am now 21. It completely changed me as a person throughout middle school and high school and I developed extreme anxiety and depression. Diabetes has been very hard on me and I still have my days of why me God? I know God does have a plan for me and I know one day I will encourage other people bc this disease does not get talked about enough! I pray that all the Type 1s out there know that this disease doesn’t define who you are! You can do all things through God that strengthens you.
I was 34 With Diagnose Typ 2 Diabetes. I had 155 kg !! My Long time Sugar was 10 . I was Short to die . So i have 60 kg lose and 2 years later the Diabetes was gone… Now for 8 years no Diabetes !And i eat normal With Sugar …one thing !! You Must hold yr wight !!! I have Now 85 kg by 1.80 cm . Thats ok for my body ❤Never give up !!!

I found you when I was 8 and can’t really remember my life before that. Being 15 now and seeing how many people have T1D makes me feel not so alone ❤

I was diagnosed at 45 years old with LADA. So 16 years old is not old for a diagnosis
