This is the first plug-in hybrid from Lexus and in F-Sport trim, is one of the nicest cars I've driven this year. Check it out in more detail in my review!

Loved the review, as always Mark! I must point out one error though. In regard to the elatch door opening system inside the car, you only need to press in the lever slightly to open the door. You were pulling the lever out twice which is actually the manual mechanical override in case of a battery discharge or an accident. If I was in the market for an SUV in this class, the NX would be my choice. As you referenced, Lexus overengineer everything which ensures reliability unlike most of its rivals! Keep the reviews coming, I especially love the Japanese car reviews!
Wasn't aware at all Eamonn, that's handy to know. I think that's about the only negative thing I could find and now that's not even true!!

I've had my 450h for about a month and I love it. Here in Canada Lexus is extremely popular...this is my first and unlikely my last as I wave adieu to my German cars.
…..Glad you LOVE this car...........I own the 2022 450h+ F sport..Note the Heads Up display on the windshield W/14” Crystal clear display on both, alone makes the Lexus better........Mine is In Atomic Silver Glows in the Sun Light with Lil" grey metal flake" and same Circut Red interior.. but with Electric battery...Has 306 Horse power 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec (Via Road and track at drag strip!.) This model DOES- NOT have a TURBO...But rather, a Naturally aspirated / Carb...........(important because it is well known that TURBOS stress engines)...simply said: see euro cars shop time!....this car combines the Elec Batt and engine to achieve *89 miles per Gallon in Hybred mode with HIGH torq, And VERY quick out of the hole...Jus' blew the doors off a 735i beemer...albeit for only a block ...( I am no dummy a V* will eventually pass many cars in the long dist. (in all fairness)
......However, who cares the thrill is initial take off and tickets are for high speed & SPEED...Kill's! My car has Red Calipers against Powder coated Gloss spoke Black mags and All red "F" Sport Badges........ FAR better built than euro's (mine built in Japan) sadly, new releases are now being made in Canada! Like USA Union shops...no one gets fired for a hang over and bad work??? maybe)..... However, Lexus is Far more reliable...Far better Re-Sale that Euro beemers or mercedes.......indeed mine has Gone UP in price...Not many cars you can find Like that!... IF YOU CAN FIND ONE ANYWHERE do grab it!......"econ 101".....Has (3) elec. motors gett'n 0 to 60 in 5.6 sec (road and track) HIGH torque QUICK out of Hole!......Never do I use gas..... gett'n 43 miles per 120 Volt charge (real world driving my experience.) and NEVER USE GAS....and almost Silent operation in elec....So do your research......as this is Far better than any European beemer or mercedes that are depreciating the moment you drive off the lot BIG TIME! And are un- reliable offering to say nothing of the GAS HOG unproven G 70, & RDX not worth mentioning. Z Best of the BEST F Sport 450h+ !
FYI, the door handle is electric push to exit. The twice pulling is another way of doing it manually.

Jus' a heads up!......My wife drives the RX 2020 model...Consider putting Michelins on your NX 450h+ F Sport......Far and away EVEN a much smoother ride Much better ride than the HARD Run Flat Bridgestones that come stock. Carry a Batt. quality inflator ( DeWalt 20V MAX Corded/Cordless Air Inflator ) and string tar impregnated rope insert-er and Do-Not wait for AAA.
Don't put normal tires on a car set up for run flats. They ride terribly after as the suspension is set much softer when you have run flats. If you put normal tires on it will be a terribly bouncy ride with normal tires on.
I like how you don't spend too long talking about the looks of the car as obviously we can see it. 👍
I totally agree, I have a Lexus ES and it easily is the best car I have ever had and I have driven VWs and Audi and easily Lexus build beautiful cars. I would love this Lexus NX but it is the price that is putting me off (big time) but I might go the standard Hybrid Lexus NX. Thanks for another down to earth review. PS if you had a choice of this Lexus NX and a ENYAQ Coupé iV the Tesla Y the Hyundai IONIQ 5 and the Genesis GV60 which one would you choose?
How would you differentiate this from the similar Toyota RAV4 PHEV? Is it just fit and finish and NVH? Is it worth the price jump over a RAV4 Thanks Nobby.
The interior handles should be PUSHED (they are electric), the pull is a mechanical backup
Great review. Wife use to have CT200H. I know reviewers slate it but it was ultra reliable, you felt you were sitting in luxury, dash like no other etc. we traded it in for Rav4 and I tell you what, they really hold their own second hand value. We looked at 2nd hand 5yr old Lexus suv but was cheaper to go with new rav4 . We got brilliant trade in value.
I think this is the best colour combination, the dark alloys with the Sonic titanium paint

the door handle, cant you press it with your thumb to open it? isnt the 2 x pull just the emergency mechanical opening?

Interesting review but one other thing I would be interested to know is what it costs to fully charge it?
Multiply whatever you’re paying for electric by 18.1 and it’ll give you a fairly accurate idea!
@@NobbyOnCars I have one (it's a brilliant car). It won't let the traction battery go below about 30% so the most it'll need for a 'full charge' is 15kWh. In town, the 15kWh will take you 50 miles (80km)!

The model Y drives like a horse and cart, suspension is crap. I went Lexus.
You need to push the lever in to open the door. Pulling it twice is to override the safety mechanism. 😉 Great review though
How's the sound system? And any rattles when playing loud bassy music?
I just bought the new NX 450h today can’t wait to get it, drove the garage demo model again today and it’s as good as you have described it, can’t wait to get it next week or so 👏👏💪

Hi mate, I know it's unrelated, but I was curious about 7 seaters. What would be your recommendation on the best out there? We are looking to buy a new 7 seater from between €35,000-50,000. We were looking at cars like the 5008, S-Max, Tarraco, Kodiaq. However, we are unsure what would be best one. Cheers!👍
Throw the Sorento into the mix too and try them all I guess. Tarraco probably has best value but come resale, may not be as strong if that is a factor.

What’s the resale value of Luxus NX?
Yesterday there was a car accident happened in front of my house. A Lexus Nx hit a Subaru SUV perpendicularly to the frame in between two doors. Lexus NX was badly damaged front engine completely fell off. While the Subaru had no noticeable dents with only a door frame rubber that fell off. Lexus was best known for its engine and reliability but kind of disappointed with its durability that is no better than Toyota.
Far FAR too many "UNKNOWN" Variables to lay judgement. i,e angle of impact. where structure was hit / reinforced...speed of each veh,....You sir are not rational! Jus' LQQK'n to hate!

Over €70k for this? I think you could spend it a lot better on a 2 year old Lexus and the savings for fuel for 10 years

@@NobbyOnCars I did... The review is exactly as you describe (apart from the door latches that other people have mentioned) Its the best Lexus I have owned so far... and i've had a few. Fantastic cars.
The front is hideous. They will have to make it smaller with every model, just like BMW is doing with their oversized kidneys.
