@@dysexlic3161 that I completely agree with. They are super predatory and I don't think they should exist. But when we call stuff scams were acting like people were tricked when 9/10 they just didn't do any due diligence or somehow don't know that 100% interest is bad which isn't the companies fault.
Scam is obviously not the correct term to use in that sense, but the fact still remains that payday advance loans are EXTREMELY predatory and they prey off the poor who live paycheck to paycheck and strive to suck them into a vicious perpetual cycle of always needing these loans, until they are forced to have one for every single payday. I mean, it says a lot when California had to step in and pass laws that capped the amount of money these places could loan AND charge in interest (basically $300 total, where it's like somewhere around $250 give or take 10 or 20 bux, of actual money you get, and the rest is the fees you owe, so you pay exactly $300 by the due date). Yeah, meaning, these vultures were such scumbags, it made the govt even blush....
Paydays may not technically be scams but they’re still an awful service that preys on poverty
