  • Missy Hyatt on her WWE Talk Show!
    Former WCW, NWA and WWE Performer Missy Hyatt talks about her short lived WWE talk show called "Missy's Manor" that was supposed to be the replacement for the hugely popular "Pipers Pit" segment. Missy says after recording numerous episodes WWE approached her about being a "Federette" ring girl for a while which would lead to an angle with The Honky Tonk Man that would ultimately get her back to doing the talk show however she turned the opportunity down at the advice of her then husband who was booking for a rival company at the time.

    Missy's Manor failed because they tried to launch it right around the same time as Wrestlemania III. All the production people were focused on Wrestlemania and "Manor" just kind of got thrown together without much prep or thought.
    The first problem they had was that they never introduced her to the audience properly. The live audiences at the tapings had no idea who she was and no idea how to react to her. The people who did know her were equally confused because she wasn't acting like the pre-WWF Missy Hyatt.
    The second problem was that the segments were poorly planned and not really thought out.
    After the third taping, they decided to start over and introduce her to the audience through an angle. She didn't trust them and thought she was being demoted and quit.
    Even if she had stayed, there was a basic problem in that they wanted her to be a face and not be Missy Hyatt. I don't think that would have ever worked because she a natural heel.

    Missy Hyatt was in her prime in the WCW in the early 90s.
    If the WWE had that Missy in the Attitude Era and pushed her right, she would have been bigger than Sable.

    • @rlouie05
      @rlouie05 Рік тому +2

      Bigger than Sable? Missy was already into her mid-to-late 30's once the middle fingers, swearing, boobs, and other nearly X-rated stuff happened on RAW, plus she was a known commodity to an extent, unlike Ivory, who was also approaching 40 but was a fresh face and able to wrestle, plus a perfect fit for that Right to Censor stable that should've lasted WAY longer than it did.

    Hot Stuff Eddie Gilbert and Missy Hyatt was too extreme for WWF Eddie Gilbert was ahead of his time

    This story about Eddie and the WWE has changed big time.
    She said before that after meeting with Vince he expressed interest in her but not Gilbert because of Gilbert's size and it caused a major rift between her and Eddie after that because of Gilbert's resentment of her and that situation.

      There's no doubt wwf had no interest in Eddie Gilbert. And WWF genuinely did want to work with Missy but then she took bad advice (from Eddie Gilbert) and the rest is history. Who knows what Missy would have become had she stayed loyal to Wwf. She was a fine talent she just needed to be in the right situation. Her career would of went on a complete different trajectory had she of stayed in wwf. She let nerves get to her and took bad advice plain and simple

    It was 1983 which Eddie Gilbert had his match vs. the Masked Superstar just before the Grand Wizard passed. That was when it was right after the car crash and Superstar did the swinging neckbreaker on the concrete and put him in the hospital.

    She should have been pushed like sable (without the sex appeal since it was pre attitude era) but presented respectably like miss elizabeth but with a voice!! She woulda been great!! But given vinces track record of fucking up careers and gimmicks,i dont blame her for not trusting them or trying to kill herself in the water with the risk of it.

    I'm wondering if Eddie would of had some idea about Missy not making it too well being on her own,& probably eventually not making it and getting let go or quitting. But,with Eddie having the goal in the end of ultimately being a full time booker, even if it was for less money,& I do think him & Kevin Sullivan are good bookers & seem a natural fit for that job so,anyway, so I don't blame Eddie considering that for not wanting to wrestle or manage,,maybe money,&career and marriage wise to take a little more time to discuss & consider options, something like give it a year or etc,& Eddie is an excellent manage & WWF did great with heel managers & most their heel managers couldn't wrestle like Eddie. That & with wanting Missy & realizing they're married so they need to accommodate both to get her,Eddie could probably get paid quite well for managing & maybe wrestle here & there or be in the ring in angles here & there since he was capable in the ring.Give it a year or whatever they decide & plus if he chose to leave then Missy would be settled in & they would know what they wanna do with her & Ed could help sort that out& then if he chose to leave she wouldn't feel so intimidated on her own since he helped her get settled in. Being in a new place & not just any place but around new York & WWF & big stars with big money & you're only 24 especially for a young woman I can see that being intimidating.

      Fair enough. That's a grammatical error I commonly make.I didn't realize it went so long. The point being I guess I thought slightly odd they would part at that time with an opportunity up there. And that he might of anticipated she would feel uncomfortable on her own.
