Junko Onishi has come a long way and at this point, she is certainly one of the top pianists on the world scene today. She is also a great proponent of "third-stream" music and one of the most exciting players in the new millennium. Her strength is amazing but she can also use a softer touch on the keyboard when called for. She is definitely my pick got artist of the decade so far and I don't think that is going to change anytime soon. Japanese artists are known for their tightness in ensemble playing and Onishi as a part of a rhythm section shows that she has tons of talent in that capacity also as her work as guest artist with Shigeharu Mukai's "J Quintet" bears witness to.

大西順子のトリオの中ではこのメンバーでのトリオが一番好きです。やっと捜しあてました。
この時代の演奏と、このトリオのハーモニーが個人的には一番アグレッシブと感じます。
