- Here is something a little bit different. I always stretch my paper before painting and in this video I'll show you the full process I take from start to finish of preparing my paper to finishing the painting, all in the ASMR style. So just relax, turn up your sound and enjoy the process.

I loved this video, Louise. Also gorgeous painting just like always. I know people say they don’t like it without your explanation, but this was soothing to me to just watch your process and focus only on what you were showing us. I loved watching the paint strokes….also the stretching of the paper is the first I’ve seen of that. I found this one super informative, so I really hope you have more of these. Thank you! ❤️
I have had decades of learning, workshops, classes, and then social media provided at-home tutorials...this video is brilliant - the details, no voice over, real time. Louise, you are a class-act with superlative offerings. Thank you.
Best fly in the wall video ever!!!!!!!!! Absolutely wonderful, being familiar with your methods through your YT tutorials I was able to “follow” along without feeling lost, I did not feel voice over nor music were needed to hold my attention, I was riveted… I will be watching on repeat and would love to see more like this. I can’t imagine the amount of work in planning and editing the video took, I am very grateful. ❤
I wrote a comment but now can’t find it as I wanted to add to it… hmmm… so I shall say it again. Amazing video Louise, I loved ALL of it, the style in which it was shot, the audio, the detail, and the ability to get a full understanding of behind the scenes, like someone else said, it was like being there next to you… ( this is coming from a photographer/videographer, so I know how much work goes into these video)… additionally, I really appreciate you taking a chance with this style of video. I know how you are a perfectionist and I get that, so letting go sometimes is refreshing and good for your SOUL! You be free and dont worry about if someone “unsubs”, they are missing the whole experience… and missing out on you, an incredible artist and an amazing teacher! Keep up the great work… and for those wanting to learn more, join her on patreon, I have and I am having amazing success in only one month… getting ready to sell my own work. I only painted my first watercolor one month ago… everyone can do this if they want to. Desire is the main ingredient. Learn from a great teacher…
I have watched many of your wonderful videos. This is one of my favorites so far. Loved seeing your creative process from beginning to end. Thank you so much for inspiring me in my own watercolor journey. ❤
i especiallly liked this video. I'm surprised at how many details I picked up and how much I could focus on the presentation. Well done!
I have no idea what ASMR means, I saw a macaw and paper prep and clicked. Then I saw who made the video… I said OH ITS LOUISE!!! so stayed and went ahhhhh. How soothing. Loved it!!! so relaxing and funny with Leo chewing on your mic.. $$$?😮 did not miss voice over as I know what you are doing. Did learn about putting that extra masking tape over the washing machine tape… assumed Saral paper and said “ I WANT that kettle! 😂😂” thank you for this interesting style. Now off to boil my own kettle for a second cuppa. ❤
I loved it as well.
Thank you Louise. That really was the most sublime way to experience your painting process ... unaware initially that this was an ASMR video, I just found the time flowed beautifully and the sounds soothing. I missed your voice, of course, but to be in your ordered and quiet space for a while gave me such peace. Sigh😊!
Please do many more of these. So peaceful.
LOL, just had to look up ASMR because I wasn't familiar with it. Then tried to watch the video again and had to shut the sound off! I guess I'm looking for silent films!
😇
How fun! More like this please!
Thank you Louise, I absolutely love this video. Felt as though I was sitting in your studio beside you. Love the ASMR style, love your stretching technique and your amazing painting, and your new hair cut 😊
Wow Louise! I totally appreciated the whole process In preparing and tracing your beautiful Macaw! Your painting is stunning and the colours are so realistic! Your talent is amazing and so lovely! Thank you for sharing. ❤ Helene
This was such a pleasant surprise. What a wonderful experience you have taken us on. At one point I got a little teary eyed. It was just so beautiful❣ Thank you so much.
I found this very relaxing and enjoyed watching the process. Thank you!
Dear Louise, you are excellent artist and excellent teacher. I enyojed in this video and learned much. You show as all process from begining to the end. Thank you !
Wow this is marvelous ✨️ ❤
Great video Louise - wonderful to see your prep process and the beak granulation etc. - fantastic! STUNNING!
I definitely enjoyed seeing your process from start to finish like I was standing in your studio as a budding artist/assistant. I especially appreciate your sharing of how you stretch your watercolor paper before beginning your painting. Gorgeous Macaw 🦜 painting. I did not realize just how big & deep the wells are in your ceramic palette (that I hope to buy later this year) 😊. My goodness that’s wonderful! I love 💕 how much vibrant colors with the hard, soft faded, & lost edges you can achieve. Thanks for sharing this wonderful video because I am learning so much from just watching your process & progress. Have a wonderful weekend Louise!
Loved the start to finish process. What a beautiful result!
Excellent and exceptional video. I like both styles personally because there are times I want the verbal teaching as well. But this video from start finish, the stretch etc. was very instructional without a word! Just don’t be silent every video deary because I enjoy what you have to say as you paint and I love your sense of humor. Hope you’re doing well! 🇨🇦👏🏻🙏🏻
Lol- thanks Linda. It was just for fun and entertainment. I'm well - thank you. I hope you are too.
Wow, this is very nice. To see everything from scratch and that things comes together. I like the silence; no music, no radio talk.
Thank you very much!
Love the quiet and just watching. Music many times distracts me and I wind up not watching it or I have to turn volume down. Thanks for this video!❤
Beautiful work , love how you set up for painting and also love that you take a break for a cup of tea ❤ ( I find that so important ) 😊
This was great fun, louise. Leo has really grown! Sweet kitty.
Very interesting as always! This must have taken a long time to film and edit. Thank you for all the extra effort you put into making every video for us. You are a great teacher! 🥰 I love seeing all those gorgeous beautiful colors - so refreshing in contrast to our gray winter days here in Michigan, USA. Thank you!
A pleasure Diane. Thank you!
I really appreciated and enjoyed this format of video! Would love to see more of you showing the process from start to finish.
I LOVED IT!! Asmr is not everyones cup of tea and thats ok!! I love your hair too! Thank you for showing us the process in real time 😊
Exquisite as always Louise❤ From America 🇺🇸
Enjoy watching you paint so much Louise. Such a generous artist 💕
Excelent job... Amazing
Thanks for showing the entire process.
I loved this. Thank you for showing us your process for this lovely painting. So informative! Glad to see that cups of tea are absolutely vital too! 😉It felt like being home.
Love the new hairdo, love your enormous studio, love this video, love the kitten assistance (which IS very very hard for kittens and cats to do!). Thank you!
Beautiful Louise as always! 💖💋
Thank you very interesting video, loved the silence, and the cat! Can you tell me the brands of the board and pencil sharpener. How long does that board last?
What a treat!!
This was really nice to see and hear. Thank you for sharing. I loved seeing how you prepare and execute your paintings. ☺☺☺
Very pretty. I especially like how you painted the beak. The blends were gorgeous.
I love this video. I learned something new in every step of the process. I have watched and worked through many, many of your watercolour tutorials, but somehow this one seemed to convey to me so much more. From the paint consistency, to the amount of colour-it was just an amazing Aha video for me. 👏❤
Thank you soooo much for this video. I have a migraine today and just being able to watch this with no sound and at a real-life pace was very soothing. And even though I’ve watched every one of your previous videos (literally!) I still learned from seeing your whole process from beginning to end. Thank you, again.
This was an exceptional video. I much enjoyed watching your process of taping the paper to the gatorboard, stapling, and the making your narrow white border. I was glad to see you cleaning up the smudges left by the saral paper. They have alwzys bugged me and I thoughtI was doing somethinb wrong. I feel that having no voice over made me really vocus on what you were doing and was an asset.
Glad you enjoyed it. Thank you Shirley.
So beautiful! I would love a tutorial on this where you seem to be using a more loose style. I follow you on Patreon also.
It was great watching your process. Little things I have always wondered about. Thank You So Much!
Mesmerising
Loved this
Love it!
Beautiful piece!!!!
Excellent video! 😊
Loved this video! It felt like I was sitting right next to you while you worked. As a Patreon member, I appreciate your guidance there.
Wonderful! Thank you. 💕
Beautiful as always!
were gorgeous.
Not sure if it's of interest to you, but another option for adding a line drawing to your paper is with a pico projector. It is faster, less cumbersome and cleaner than using the graphite transfer method. I knew about it from cookie decorating and use it to now for adding the outline and detail pencil sketch to my paper. I just keep the outlines as jpegs in a folder in my Photos and then it connects wirelessly to my projector (mine's the Kodak version), mounted on an adjustable stand. The stand can be positioned as close or as far to the paper as desired, to get the size of the image you want. It's an investment up front, but well worth it over the long run, I think. Some videos here on UA-cam offer a walk-thru of the process.
Thank you for this awesome video❤
So inspiring thanks
I really enjoyed this video. Thanks for sharing your process.
This is gorgeous ~ so fun to watch your process on the piece ❤️✝️🙏🏻
Just was waiting for your video yesterday...you posted this...thank you😊God bless you
What amazing this video Louise ! Very relaxing! I like it! 🏖
Fabulous to see your process all the way through. Loved the format and by the way, nice haircut ❤
Very enjoyable, TY Louise, it is always fun to watch your process. Kind of like getting lost in the process of doing my own stuff.
Thank you Robert.
Love seeing the process from start to fibish! The whole asmr does nothing for me but i still enjoyed the video tons!
It's interesting to see how you stretch the paper. I've often wondered what, if any, the risk is of removing too much sizing when stretching. Thanks for the soothing video!
Thank you Louise , I love this “watch and learn “ from start to finish and if you’ve watched enough of your videos I can imagine what you’re saying and what colors you used to mix up your black ! The painting turned out beautiful as always ! Keep on keepin on Louise , I’m a huge fan of the way you teach and the way you paint !
Blessings to you from Eastern WA!
Thank you Gretchen.
I think the secret is in the green potion Louise drinks!
😂
Uno dei piu bei video di acquerello che abbia mai visto (e praticamente non guardo altro su you tube !)davvero utile, emozionante istruttivo vederti lavorare a questo variopinto pappagallo, grazie di cuore, Louise, per la tua condivisione❤
Wow...this silence is so meditative...but miss your Golden voice😢
So helpful to see your process. No narration needed! Well, maybe except for Leo’s comment at the end. I have yet to stretch paper. I ordered gator board and the tape and the gator board went missing! I need to order another one! Thank you, Louise!
Loved this video
Thank you Mia!
Love the sound cat. Is it professionally trained or self-taught? 😁😁
Hi Louise! I’m a big fan of yours! Please tell me where I can buy the large flat brush you used in the beginning….it appears to be about 3 inches.
Thank you ! Btw I really enjoyed this video!!!
Lovely! The beak turned out amazing! And... new hairstyle for you, Louise? ✨
💖💖💖💖
Love love love,!
Appreciate watching the video from stretching the paper to the end result. But miss the vocal explanation of the choice of watercolors and the different techniques that you utilize to make your artwork.
Yeab 🤔 Seeing the whole process was interesting but often I was just watching without really understanding what's going on and why.
Btw if you plan on making more of these videos without speech, could you please mention at the beginning that there won't be any talking in the video? I am very sensitive to noises and these ASMR type videos make me feel quite uncomfortable. I'd have preferred to mute the video right away rather than wait and see if there will be commentary 😅
Thanks for the video though, as usual it was an interesting one 😊 The painting, as usual, is also gorgeous.
@@whatever9554the title starts with ASMR
@@cordeeskywalker4074 Some ASMR videos have speech.
@@cordeeskywalker4074I agree. ASMR is in the title. No further explanation is needed.
@@whatever9554 It does say ASMR in the title...
Wow what a relaxing and medative video. Very soothing and also really helped me see your process of stretching paper and the size of you painting. Sometimes it’s hard to tell. Thanks so much x
Die besten Vorbereitungen und Arbeitsbedingungen können nur maximalen Erfolg bringen!!!!the best preparations and working conditions can only give maximum success!!!👏👏❤❤☘☘🍀🍀👏👏❤❤
Thank you Louise for sharing the entire process with us! Really appreciate it! I do have a question though....what board do you use to staple your watercolor paper on? I mean material .....thank you once again!
I had the same question earlier and some replied they believe it is called gator foam board.
🥰👌👍
What does ASMR mean?
This was great and very useful!! Wondering do you have a link to the overhead phone tripod thing? Id love to try filming my painting and sculpting from above. Great asmr video! Perfect as I have flu and all sounds seem to loud.
Looks like she use a MANFROTTO "Magic Arm" tripod
Hi Micky. Thank you. Yes - it's a Manfrotto Magic arm.
What are those gorgeous colours in the beak?
1.The granulating blue
2. The rich brown (a mix of colours?)
Thank you!
i believe its burnt umber and ultramarine, very gorgeous granulating mix.
Thank you for this Louise. But I do have a question . . . why go through such an involved process of preparing the paper if you don't use a great deal of water in your paintings (spraying, runs, etc.). - (I know you don't use cheap paper)
Hi Cathy. Thank you! It takes me about ten minutes or so to stretch a piece of paper. I use a fair amount of water when I paint and I like the paper to remain flat when I work on it. It makes the process of painting so much easier and more enjoyable.
@@LouiseDeMasi Thank you Louise. I really look forward to your tutorials and videos each week. Cheers
1:04 What do you call the board where you stick the watercolor paper?
I believe it’s called gator foam board!
I believe Louise uses a product called gator board. it’s waterproof and very lightweight. They last for years with heavy use.
Thanks so much for the replies!
I miss the vocal explanation. But I appreciate the video, of course, very complete.
Thanks Christine.
That quite a bucket. I need to do that. Does kitty like to make a mess splattering the water around like mine does ?? She would love to dip her paws in that bucket
Question: Do Patreons have access to pdf down-load of the sketch in each tutorial?
Hi Suzy, Yes they do.
Back to my 17 at college........
So informative, but missed your voice while painting. The only voice we heard was your cat’s! lol
🦜🦜🦜
I can't stand ASMR. Gets on my last nerve 😂. See you in your next normal painting.❤
What does ASMR stand for? I don’t have a clue.
@@beece2413 No idea, but it's just making a bunch of sounds, like crunches, taps, etc without talking. It's irritating to some and soothing to others.
@@pjpony1234 thank u.
Can't wait!
