I have seizures that won't subside even on three types of drug therapy. Valproic acid, Levetiracetam and phenytoin. MRI showed I have hippocampus oedema and hippocampal sclerosis.
Is the sclerosis showed on MRI have dimensions ex. 19 mm and 17 mm or what I am confused as may be they mixed it with tumor or something If you can explain please
I know this is a bit of a random question but if you had epilepsy due to hippocampal sclerosis on one side of the brain and it was controlled with meds, would you notice the effects of the hippocampal sclerosis over time or would the brain adapt and be able to function just as well as it would if the hippocampal sclerosis was removed?
Since 2011 when im suffer from seizures disorder due to pasmatic work after I graduated in high school, sad to say my MRI results mark that I have"👉 Mild left hippocampal attrophy or mesial temporal sclerosis... I have maintenance until now, penobartal, its been almost 12 years, but still my seizures attack me for unknown reasons, that's why I'm not capable for hardwork. According to research if someone are suffering from seizures, even she/he taken anti convulsive drugs in long period of time, but it's not useful tool to heal or to stop from seizures, Medical research suggests only lobectomy is the proper tool to stop his/her seizure, because during operation,Dr.eliminate vein where seizures give signal.. And that's what I pray for🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you

Hi Rashh. Initially anti-epileptic medications are given. If with persistent symptoms, surgery may be considered. Thanks for the question
