- We join this Metro-Cammell 3-car unit railtour at Llanthony in the ex-GWR docks at Gloucester and are then conveyed to the ex-LMS docks at High Orchard. The tour continues along the line from Cheltenham to Honeybourne, where we make a stop, before taking the final section as far as Hatton.

Many thanks
Living in Gloucester long after most of the shown lines have disappeared it was wonderful to see how Gloucester once looked.
Looks like there must have been traffic gridlock for years in the town with all those crossing points.
Fantastic, that is what can be found on old cine film! It all long gone, check out the Bobbies off their beat, keeping order....those days are almost alive....
Thankyou for posting this.
About time the line was reopened from Stratford upon Avon 👍🏻
Fascinating snapshot of the city's goods lines, whose days were numbered even in 1970. The police presence to 'keep order' at Southgate crossing shows how bad traffic congestion had become by then, and which led to council pressure on BR to close the Eastgate-Tuffley loop thus eliminating four crossings.
Must have been road and rail gridlock for years in the centre of the town
of Gloucester, very frustrating.
Quite a faff getting out of Gloucester.
Not sure if you need permission to add this to the Gloucester FB sites but please do. These footages are priceless.👍👍👍
What precisely are you suggesting please?
I’d just wondered if I could post this on one of the Gloucester Bygones Facebook Book Pages?
It was posted on the "Gloucestershire days gone by" FB page in 2021. If you know of other groups that may be interested, please feel free to post the link there as well.
