No , Anime of the Year is Edgerunners because of multiple reasons.
1. It's about the background details in the settings that make it's world building superior to AOT
2. Writing of individual characters is as good as it gets for a short screen run .
3. The ending, in my opinion is better than AOT , both are dark but Cyberpunk just feels more rooted to the ground and and doesn't strain from focusing on the setting. Meanwhile AOT switched perspectives too fast
Other than this , AOT didn't deserve best director either . Tengen's fight scene was absolutely balls to the walls . That level of action direction is movie quality.
Another reply saying best ending song , yes that I can agree . It should have been either AOT or Call of the Night .

Usui tengen carried Season 2 yes u can argue but the power given to the season was by Uzui , the 3 main leads just took the plot advantage at the last else the legendary animation fight was delivered by Uzui , the goosebumps movements of rengoku showing up as Uzui and how can we miss his 3 wives
