It was a time of great freedom, the looks were amazing, eccentric, the energy was crazy and a lot of optimism for the future. Today things have changed a lot.
I was there. Truly an amazing event. We went over from UK for it and were worrying we wouldn't be able to find any pills....Jesus wasn't a problem. Pills everywhere and top notch! Even got given some acid and speed free from some of the people we met.
@@WONGLER so well said. The parties whether in Netherlands; Belgium or Germany were insane and met some amazing people and had best nights of my life. One way to solve war in Ukraine...air drop a couple of million E and let everyone feel the love!
As a U.S. American who only turned 9 that year, looking back it seems like on your side of the pond, the culture was so massive and influential at the time. Is it just me, as a later raver, seeing it in an idealized way, or wasn't the rave massive in the 90s something revolutionary enough that it had a very real potential to transform the culture of Europe and the UK?
@@sirfizz6518 It has transformed culture in a way, at least musical culture. Electronic music has become accepted in a way that is even too much. Nowadays you here it everywhere, not to mention EDM and its thoroughly commercialized festivals.
💖BERLIN 13.07.1996💖 I was there, just 15 years old and feelings came over me I never known before - the guy at 10:39 shows a lil bit. BTW this music was more than just perfect in that century - for me it was the soundtrack to a new attitude towards life. Thank you kindly Carl Cox, Marusha💕, Westbam🍀, Dr. Motte💖, Moby, Winx, Ravers Nature and of course many many more, you are simply Gods of Sound.😇
After the parade on the highway back to western europe stopping every 20 minutes bc of car crashes, people out of their cars, boosting their car hifi, raving the A2, first cars start moving again, you pass a wrecked car on the field besides the highway, and repeat. The longest stop-and-go ever.
YES...& teilw. noch älter. Aber wir haben immer noch den vibe! Wenn ich die ppl heute sehe.....War auch da!!! Im zarten Alter von 26....Die 1. an der Goldelse! Auf'm Ku'damm war ich auch noch.
I think about 2000 is when ops got involved. It's a testament to the human spirit that so many people can come together to dance and be together with nothing but having a good time in mind. After what happened.
Please take me back to that good old days 🤩

13:43 it’s amazing to see this…back then they didn’t really connect the DJ’s as superstars and focused on the energy of the festival instead.

I find it suspicious how often Eden feels to mention that she did not sleep last night.

back then having a British accent was the coolest thing in the world.
It still is for me. I love when people have a proper british accent.
MTV was amazing back then before it got ruined when they split up and we got the rubbish version with MTV UK.
