Do you know of other sewing or knitting superstitions that I didn't mention? Also, are there any superstitions that you live by!? Let us all know in a comment down below! 👇🏻
You should never gift knives. For the same reason that you don't gift scissors. Your relationship will be cut in half and one of you is going to stab the other in the back. I begged my mom for nice knives for christmas and she refused because of this.
A friend of mine had her own superstition that if she knitted a sweater for a boyfriend they would break up because it had happened a few times already in her past. It think it had more to do with the fear of commitment it probably provoked in the guys than anything!
Yes! I think you’re right if your partner knits you something that takes that much effort as a gift and you are not 100% committed it will definitely evoke some emotions.
"Needles and pins, needles and pins, when a man gets married, his troubles begin". I was told that loosing needles and pins brings troubles to your husband. I was also told that any girl or woman who allows someone to sweep under her feet will not get married. Plus, I was also told that we were to rest on the seventh day (which is Saturday); so, working on Friday night would be working on the eve of Saturday.
Oh.. that makes sense and probably connects to all the other Friday superstitions! 😅 I will have to investigate if me loosing pins and needles makes a difference in my husband life 😜
There's definitely some truth in that superstition. I lost a needle once... and my partner found it in his padded cycling pants! Luckily he found the needle before he put the pants on. 😅

Lottery tickets should only be bought with your own money (nothing of that "I'll pay you later") #Portugal
Interesting! I wonder if that is because of you are gonna bet you gotta bet with your own money?

Haha not surprised this applies to knives too! 😝

Haha… was that the time he banned you from doing any needle work in the bedroom? 😂
What was that cake one? I only serve cake on it's side (it aesthetically pleases me)
“You will never get married” if it drops to the side when serving. I think it’s a Swedish superstition and I can confirm it’s incorrect 😝
