I found a drowning ladybird in my garden that i rescued on the day that my macro lens arrived. So after i offered it a small stick to use to climb out of the water and then left it on a plant in the sun to dry. I filmed it while it spread its wings and wiped its face for a while. So i was lucky to have it in one spot for while. Hopefully i ll get a chance again now im more familiar with both camera and the new lens (just an old GH5 with an Olympus 60mm macro), though hopefully not one needing rescuing. I am Animator, but have recently started wildlife photography as a hobby after moving to the country on the south coast, and found your videos, which I wanted to say are inspiring me to try and come up with my own creative set ups like you.

I want to say thanks for making the videos even though you are hurt and can't move around easily. That is my problem. I can't hardly bend at all. Standing is difficult and everything about trying to take photographs is so much harder when you can't bend or move around easily.

love your Macro videos Lee, one thing i do like are your backgrounds and the colours, are doing them in editing or are you using different colour background cards
For my water droplet photography I use cards but for my insects photography I use what ever is around me like grass or leaves 🍃 my friend

Just goes to show Lee whether your going out to photograph a Buffalo or a Beetle a bit of planning beforehand makes all the difference - very nicely composed shots. Hope everything goes well on the health front mate.👍

When using in-camera focus bracketing and stacking, and flash, should I be using electronic or mechanical shutter?
How is it possible for the flash to keep up with the bracketing?

He Lee I did some macro shots of ladybirds last year. It was easy. They didn’t move. Then I saw they were artificial & put on the leaf at the flower shop. Is there hope for me as a macro photographer 😂😂😂 Can’t believe how well you look now compared with last year. So pleased for you. Greetings from Melbourne in lockdown 5.0

Hello, I'm starting my adventure with macro photography and I want to ask you something. I've already learned a lot, and I really like your work and videos. I am photographing the A7 III and I have already ordered the lens: laowa ca-dreamer 100 mm f / 2.8 macro 2: 1. I would like to use Yongnuo YN24EX lamps, but there is nothing to the A7 III at this price. And one more question for the a7 III, which LAOWA lens would you choose?
