  • Dear brothers, today we are going to reflect on a fundamental topic in the Christian life: tithing. In his preaching, Billy Graham invites us to look beyond the act of giving, and to understand the true purpose of tithing, not only as an obligation, but as an expression of our gratitude and obedience to God.
Tithing is a way of recognizing that everything we possess comes from Him, and by tithing, we are not only supporting God's work, but also cultivating an attitude of generosity that reflects His love for us.
Brothers, tithing is not just a financial matter, but a spiritual act that strengthens our faith and brings us closer to God.
Billy Graham reminds us that God does not need our money, but our heart. By tithing, we are affirming our trust in His provision and His faithfulness.
Let us pray that God gives us a generous heart, willing to give not only what we have, but what we are.
May our act of giving always be an expression of love and obedience to His will. Amen.

It's true and there is a charge> to the rich in 1 Timothy 6:17-19 to be generous but not a special percentage. As stated Old Testament tithe was a tax for levite priests care and the poor.

The tithe is a sacrifice to God. It shows our love and trust in Him. It also can be used to further His Kingdom on Earth. However some preachers have used it for manipulation sadly. You need to discern if your church is using it to further the Kingdom or for their own personal gain. If the latter find a church that truly does Kingdom

Old Testament tithing was food offerings, there are no money tithing verses in the New Testament.

Tithing is for the Jewish people as outlined in the Old Testament, in the New Testament it’s free will giving. You cannot out give God.

Giving is truly mater of the heart, not of law but Neglecting one portion of scripture and misrepresenting it is wrong. Reading just a part of scripture wich fits your opinion is wrong. Even you said some good things your final conclision is wrong. Jesus never said: Stop giving the tithe, he said dont forget to do it, continue to do it, dont neglect it. If your heart is truly given to the Lord, you will give more then tithe. If it is not, you will give less.
