After years of listening to this song I only just now realized it's a whopping 13 minutes long... call me insane, but time legit stops when listening to this.
The crystal evolves the light of time The sword of Asrah, power of fire For life we fight till the end of time For destiny leads us to build our empire Master of energy Nardia we hail For Manillan lords Ice Spirit shall sail For the empire we shall not fail The cycle complete order shall prevail In search of peace In search of freedom The cycle complete The city Manilla The empire in dormant lace The magikal mysteries of the ordonian age The plague of man verses sword of fire The plotted destruction of the Manillan Empire Electrical impulse, fire and knowledge Unite together the gladiator arises The golden death of demonic domain Manilla free the empire rises again In quest of peace In search of freedom The cycle complete The city Manilla The crystal evolves the light of time The sword of Asrah, power of fire For life we fight till the end of time For destiny leads us to build our empire
To me, the music really demonstrates those lyric phases. The "cycle" feels complete when the lengthy guitar section at the end personifies the Empire's risen "gladiator".
I like how this whole album (at least for me) is very reminiscent of Lonesome Crow album by Scorpions. Even the last song Lonesome Crow from that record has a similar heavy-psych vibe, just like The Empire" (which is the last song also and it's lenght is about 13 minutes also. I don't think Manilla Road ever mentioned Scorpions (i heard about Rush, Floyd, Priest) as influence, but i think they know their stuff (especially 70's stuff). And by the way the great song Tree of Life from Voyager is kinda triggering the same energy as Fly to the Rainbow by Scorpions did. Everyone just loves Uli Jon Roth. What a great bands, both of them.
Scorpions of '70 is a monster. Who knows they know - the others go by the wood. Anyway are there too much people who ever hear about Manilla Road? I am really doubt. It's time M-ca put out a "new" sh-y album and "every body" will be happy like the f-ng chicks. But who really cares )))
R.I.P. SIR SHELTON.😥🎸🙏🤘

spacey and romantic af
Words can't describe the awesomeness and majesty of this piece of music.
The crystal evolves the light of time
The sword of Asrah, power of fire
For life we fight till the end of time
For destiny leads us to build our empire
Master of energy Nardia we hail
For Manillan lords Ice Spirit shall sail
For the empire we shall not fail
The cycle complete order shall prevail
In search of peace
In search of freedom
The cycle complete
The city Manilla
The empire in dormant lace
The magikal mysteries of the ordonian age
The plague of man verses sword of fire
The plotted destruction of the Manillan Empire
Electrical impulse, fire and knowledge
Unite together the gladiator arises
The golden death of demonic domain
Manilla free the empire rises again
In quest of peace
In search of freedom
The cycle complete
The city Manilla
The crystal evolves the light of time
The sword of Asrah, power of fire
For life we fight till the end of time
For destiny leads us to build our empire
Thank you

Why did it take so long for this to get the respect it deserved? 40 years of bad publicity and reviews .
Épica ! Brilhante ! Genial !
In quest of peace, In search of freedom, the cycle complete...City Manilla \m/

this reminds me of early UFO, the Phenomenon album, to be more specific. Love it.
very good

Influenced by UFO's "Flying" as well.
did I hear 1:45 correctly? Holy shit that is some guitar work!
Dreamy
This is so cool! Can you belive this band is not bigger? I should have been their manager... ! :)
they aren't big, they're HUGE !!!!! just not mainstream
Not metal yet, but wonderful space rock this one is! Early Hawkwind would be proud! All Hail Manilla Road!
+rodzer Of course it's metal! ;)
Blue Oyster cult is also Metal / Rock / hard rock / space rock.
They did this live as part of 40th live at Jas Rod france. Last song of a long set. Stunning concert. Check it out.
fantastic! will see you on the next tour in germany
Chique demais viajante
Good Heavy progressive rock
*Awesome!*
(And I had to watch a stupid add beforehand for something called "metal" that is _infinitely_ unworthy compared to this …)
Only popular in Europe during the 1980s , USA was too busy posing
Did they get to play shows or tour in Europe then? If not, how sad! How much integrity and dedication Mark and crew must have had.
Yeah kinda early Rush and Nektar.
See you 1st of May in Athens
Fantastic show!!!!!!! \m/
