Great video. I used to fly the Saab 340 for Crossair in Switzerland, based in Basel. It was such a fantastic airplane. There used to be a company in Aberdeen called Business Air and I visited them several times usually returning one of their 340’s after it had been in BSL for heavy maintenance. Take care, keep fit & healthy. Thanks for bringing back fond memories of this airplane.
I took a flight from Shetland to Aberdeen in this kind of plane. I sat in the first row, right next to the propeller 🙂 This was the smallest plane I've ever travelled. Very comfortable and great fun 😃
aircraft came out one year after I was born I am personally impressed how well this aircraft has remained in 40 years those Saabs are built to last❤ GOT TO FLY ON 340B DEC OF 1997 DHN-MEM VIA CSG TWICE Northwest Airlink SUMMER OF 99 DFW TO XNA 340A AMERICAN EAGLE! NICE LITTLE SWEDE PROPS CHEERS 🥂
ANOTHER purple livery! Awesome! This was on my suggestion list too. Destination suggestions: Can make a video to the Caribbean Islands, Central America, and South America? Like maybe in your 24 hour layover for your Primera Air flight from Newark? 🏖️🏝️ Fly the SHORTEST flight in the world, from Westray to Papa Westray. 50 seconds! Can't wait for the future flights! :D
Hey Branden! Thanks! So, my 24 hr layover I have some big plans for. I'm waiting for JetBlue to release their June schedules, they have a tempting SXM quick turn that I'm keeping an eye on ;) And as for Westray to Papa Westray - well I am in Kirkwall in a few weeks and fingers crossed I'll be taking just that flight - if I can get a seat! Fingers crossed :D
Smart to go from Aberdeen, so that when the plane is flying over Sumburgh (and can't land, because of fog), the plane goes back to Aberdeen.... Where you can catch the ferry.
I like Saab 340, Inflight Video, but I like your Q400 Full Flight videos because the Q400 was my favorite turboprop plane. Some airlines in Canada were still use their Saab 340s like Transwest Air, and Pacific Coastal Airlines. Calm Air has operating their Saab 340s for 18 years before they retired and being replaced by Dornier 328 Jet and ATR 42-300 in 2012.
The Saab 340s are awesome :) I have a few Q400 flights to release soon too, trying to mix it up a little so it doesn't get boring :) Saabs are very rare over here now, only Loganair operate the passenger version regularly in Europe I believe. My last Saab flight was over 11 years ago in New Zealand, Air NZ used to operate lots of them!
depends on which airline, some flights with Flybe can be as little as £30 ($40) with most being about £40-£50 ($53-$67) and other cheap airlines such as Ryanair and EasyJet pricing similar or slightly more whereas with British Airways on the same route they can cost around £190 ($255) if you book 2-3 weeks in advance. These flights seem pretty cheap but when you take the distance flown on them into account compared to similar priced flights in the US they can quite often be a lot less value for your money. However the cheapest way to travel in the UK would be by coach (some bus companies ticket at £5 or less depending on route) but this has the disadvantage of taking 9-10 hours on the test route I used (London/Southampton to Aberdeen). I wouldn't bother with trains for that long a distance as tickets are often more expensive than by air and take 4-5 hours longer depending on route. Hope this helps :)
It all depends on the route and airline. You can fly to Eastern Europe for £11 each way with Ryanair or Wizz Air, but a flight to Scotland at the last minute is £120. Likewise in the US you can fly on certain routes for $50 but others cost hundreds. As Andrew mentions, the distances are a lot longer in the US so that will always make it more expensive. It's all down to competition on the routes - a route with lots of airlines will almost always be cheaper than a more random route with no competition.
aberdeen is my home sorry about the rain but we are pissed off with it as well. lol just out of interest who would you say is your favorate airline to fly with?
Hi Terry, haha last time I went it was beautiful and this time rainy :) I'm back again in a few weeks so hopefully sunny again! Favourite airline so far is Qatar Airways.
Nice video! I have a question :) If I take a long flight(3~12hours) should I change memory cards?? Also Is the camera still shooting when I change the memory card?? Last! Which memory card would you recommend?? I'm ready for my trip to Singapore this December! But I don't have enough information about shooting!! Thank you so much!
Hey, thank you! Depends on the camera. I use GoPro Hero 4 Silver, and a Sandisk MicroSD cards. The 128GB costs around £30 and is good for 9 hours of filming, the 200GB card costs £60 and gets around 13 hours. Always Sandisk Ultra, although I'm sure there are others - I just trust these as I have a lot of them :) Hope this helps!
I should also say - regarding changing the card - if I take a particularly long flight and I have to change the card, I start the internal camera recording first so that it is still filming, then overlay it onto the video at the end - makes for a more seamless video :)
Apparently lots; but I didn't leave the airport as I only had an hour between flights and the rain was horrible! We got a great view on take off though, some stunning beaches.
inflight Video Thank you! Last time you make a lot of videos where there is a flight or arriving from Scotland .I just really like Scotland ; And all your videos are fine . You a brilliant channel . 182 Likes, and yet there are ONLY 7 people supporting Noel on Patreon, and i suspect not to many more on his site {inflightvideo.tv} i think its shamefull, im on a disability pension and i can afford $10 a month, { there is also a $5 a month} You all know how much effort he puts in, so PLEASE consider supporting him, if i was him id put all future flights behind a paywall.
Thank you so much Jeff, and thanks for your support on Patreon! It's an expensive channel (time and money) to keep making the videos and I really appreciate everybody that helps to contribute and keep the channel going. At the moment we're almost covering the costs and are considering putting in a paywall going forward - I don't really want to stop people watching them but we may have no choice :( Thanks again for your awesome support!
The SAAB is one of my favourite planes......lovely shape!
Great video. I used to fly the Saab 340 for Crossair in Switzerland, based in Basel. It was such a fantastic airplane. Amazing video I just love the Saab 340
Thanks Shane! Yep so long since I last flew on one! I have another one at the end of October too :)
Wow, the interior is much more modern and spacious than I was expecting!
you don't miss anything, very well done, i subscribed to you, your full flights are awesome, thanks for all the effort and time in this!
Thank you so much, and thanks for the sub!

I hope you never quit your channel!
I will keep making videos as long as people like yourself keep watching them :)
Hear hear
Beautiful Livery. Normally I don't care for the flashy paint jobs (like Braniff Airlines did) on aircraft but this one looks nice.
Wow..stamp on that rudder at 1:17:46!
Great video.. I would hate flying in to the Shetlands in bad weather!
I think this was a nice day by Shetland standards, haha! It was a crazy bumpy approach even I felt a little queasy, very windy!
No greater sound than the Saab340
Choppy as usual round the Shetlands coast Inflight.
Great little plane. The UK is so beautiful.

The longest walk , 340 looks great
I flew on a Saab 2000 from Glasgow to Manchester last week, really good aircraft
The Saabs are awesome! I'm doing Inverness to Manchester on an E145 in a few weeks :)
Nice flight. I fast forwarded a bit, was there any turbulence?
Yet another fantastic full-flight video, quite enjoyable. Looks like ABZ's definitely turboprop land. :)
Thank you! Yep no shortage of props at ABZ :) I'll be there again next week - DHC8 and Jetstream 41 :)

Beautiful livery!

Yep the weather is so incredibly changeable at Sumburgh, thankfully we got in and I was able to get straight out on my next flight back to Aberdeen :)
That landing looked rough!
It was very bumpy, not often I get queazy on a flight but this was making me a little nauseous!

Hi Noel,
This video mostly feature and concentrate on cloud. Don't know what the cabin crew serve you. Tea, coffee or any caramel etc?
As it says in the timestamps in the description they give him a snack
Hi, nice clear picture, what camera are you using?
Thanks :) GoPro Hero4 Silver :)
Always raining Aberdeen Ockney and the Shetlands take a rainmac.
As a frequent flyer do you find booking flights in the US between US cities is more expensive then booking flight within the UK?

Fantastic views.

From 10:25 on, quite rough handling of baggage :)
How much is there to see on Shetland?
Apparently lots; but I didn't leave the airport as I only had an hour between flights and the rain was horrible! We got a great view on take off though, some stunning beaches.
Puffins! Lots of puffins! 🤓
Notice how the aircraft starts to get weighed down when people board on the ground
You’re awesome. 👏
Ever been to KHPN?
