I’d say 15,000-20,000 would be my guess. Edit: Gee, I was wayyy off, clearly my local county fire department is getting ripped off because alone they say it’s around 10,000 for the bunkers alone.
Out of curiosity i checked firefighters gears prices in my country - Poland, and i am shocked. You can get full firefighting gear for around 4k dollars. For this price you get light and heavy jacket, pants, shoes, gloves, whole breathing apparatus with bottle included, flashlight, stillnes and heat sensor and illuminescent helmet (high visibility helmet) with visor. Thermal imaging camera costs around 2k dollars. Keep in mind that prices i am talking about are the highest i was able to find (Not the camera tho. They can be really expensive). Idk why everything is so overpriced in US. Gear like this, which is necessary for you to work should be way cheaper.
In Germany it is a bit more expensive a bit above 5k, the compressed air bottles have to be a certain kind and they have a special thing to sit in which is expensive but holds a long time
Time of the video 1:03 I would like to say around $7,500 for the boots bunker gear flashlight gloves flash hood and at 3:27 before watching the video further $10,000 😮
I would guess like 14000$ ? I do feel like the equipement would be extremely costly to produce due to needing specific materials to be that resistant. Its also pretty "niche" so i the company selling it (if its like private and not publicly owned) would try to make hella money and the research needed to create it at first must have also been expensive.
As a firefighter myself, I know the stuff we wear is extremely expensive, but I don't know the actual cost. Excited to find out! My guess: ~$11000, or ~$12000. Edit: Only a few thousand off, not too bad. Cool video! I didn't factor in the radio, or TIC because I was thinking just PPE. Also, I didn't realize there was such a cost difference between MSA and Scott packs. These G1s we have run just over 5k. Sweet video though!
@N150CZ Volunteer, but with a good department that issues new gear and the newest MSA packs. Part of the additional cost is the extra bottle for the pack, which is accounted in the additional cost with the pack.
Just the turnout gear- coat, pants, boots, helmet, gloves and hood go for about $4500. Add on about 7 grand for a ScottPack and mask. Then add training costs. Not cheap. Worth every damn penny.
Can you charge an SCBA tank from your truck? And is it just air or a specialty gas? Am wondering if you have anything like O2/H2O (hospital), Dry Air (no H2O), Dry O2 (like for aviation emergency bottles), or a special mix (like Trimix for SCUBA).
I'm gonna guess (currently at 0:53 in the video) the total cost of the shown kit is around $10k. This guess is based off of absolutely no information at all. After watching: Hm, wasn't too far off!
I had no idea. But now that I know, I wish I didn't know.
I still remember when that much money was a full year's pay!
Whats the different color gear is there out there
Nice video idea, never seen a video specifically about cost.
Thank ya. I noticed that and figured it would help everyone understand the constant need for fundraising.

2k Happy Easter Alex
A little bit off. Thanks for watching and commenting!! Happy Easter to you as well.

I need it all must buy little at at time.
I might presume, if someone gets caught stealing firemen equipment from a station gets at least 3 years in prison.

15k about. | Well I could have won the set off the Price Is Right with my guess. Was not expecting the tank system to be the bulk of it though.

Thanks for watching I appreciate it!!! Yeah Scott's are expensive
You volunteer or career? I'm a volunteer myself and have been told the bunker gear alone is worth over 5 grand.
