They made the cz97 in 45 so it wouldn't be much of a stretch to give that size frame the "SP01" treatment in 10mm. Give it a threaded barrel and slide optic cuts from factory.

I bought an *FN 510 Tactical 4.7" (15+1 / 22+1).* It is very accurate and reliable. The trigger pull smooths out about one pound after 300 rounds. I have no issues with my 510, so irrespective of other's opinions, I am pleased with it. I trust my FN 510 to be carried concealed. It can be done. I do.

Love my XDM Elite 4.5! I appendix carry it all the time. I took the extended magwell off, put on the 15rd magazine baseplates, and installed a Talon rubber grip.

Bought my Glock 20 SF back in 2014, it has never ever failed me. I use it almost entirely for hog hunting, with Underwood 220 grain hardcast. It hammers hogs.
Glock and Underwood I know I have found my people.

They aren’t Caniks, but I have 2 Turkish made 10mm pistols. A Tisas 1911 D10 and a Girsan MC1911 S Hunter. Love ‘‘em both. A Canik 10 mm would be sweet.
I believe there is a 10 mm Canik out there or a 45 mm Canik I don’t recall but I do remember seeing one on auction online months back for a really hefty price and was imported from turkey

I'm a 10mm fan as well. Carried a Glock 20 on duty in charge of bank robbery investigations with full power Winchester silver tip JHP ammo in a shoulder rig with two spare 15 round magazines. That was in the 1990s. I still use a 10mm for general carry and in the woods where black bear could be encountered. Have a Kimber Camp Guard with night sights, a Springfield XDM4.5" and a Fusion 1911 Commander all 10MM pistols. Generally in a VEDDER IWB holster. Big advocate of the 10mm for personal defense. Enjoy your channel and review of the 10mm pistols.
I have the M&P 4.6 model and it's been flawless with everything I've put threw it. I did change out the mag springs just to avoid any issues.

Same here.... a stiffer captured recoil spring, bog dot sights, mag springs and the Apex trigger - enjoy it more than my M&P Perf Ctr 9mm for sure. One is my woods gun and one for going out in public.
@@William-Bill-Munny Recoil spring has been the biggest complaint I've heard. Purely anecdotal, but my guess from what I've seen online and from talking to people is about a 25% jam rate with M&P. For some, it went away after a couple hundred rounds, many resolved it with replacing the recoil spring. If I were getting it just to carry, I wouldn't sweat it much. But for hiking in bear country with my daughter, that's a gamble I don't want to take. I may still buy it and see if I get lucky and am not one of the lemons.

@@Tyrantresister Poorly worded. To clarify, I was in the market for a 10mm right away for a trip and would have very limited range time with it to determine dependability. If it were going to be an EDC, I'd give it plenty of range time and possibly gamble on getting a lemon or not, as well and testing replacement parts before actually using it as an EDC.
Great video. So many good choices. I’ve never liked striker-fired pistols, I just don’t shoot them well, but the Sig X-10 changed my mind. Close to 1,000 through it, everything from light, fast Underwood to the heavy, cast buffalobore, and standard range ammo, zero misfires. Shoots like a dream!

The Springfield Armory XDM Elite 10mm is a fantastic shooting gun. I have found that you have to make sure the rounds are packed to the back of the mag. If you put a gas pedal on it, it is even better. I will say that it has a girthy grip. It fits my hands very well, but smaller hands may have an issue holding it.

Do they make the 10mm XDm elite in the Compact size? I bought the 45 acp version, and it immediately became my go to Carry gun. Bought a Wright Leather Works holster for it. It is a tack driver inside 20 yards.

I recently purchased the Sig Sauer Legion P220 SAO in 10mm, it has become my primary carry. The fit, finish, ergonomics, everything about it fits my needs perfectly. The mag capacity is a bit limited at 8 rounds but does come with 3 magazines out of the box. I havnt put enough rounds through it yet to give a sufficient reliability report but with the amount I’ve presently shot I’ve had no failures in any way. Very smooth trigger with a bit of take up initially and a super crisp break, im also loving the X ray night sights it’s equipped with.

I personally like Springfield XDM ELITE 10MM and I own the 3.8 compact and the 4.5 barrel and I absolutely love them both.
I carry my 4.5 in a gun fighter chest holster.

The G20 is probably the most practical 10mm, but the best 10mm I've shot is the SIG P220. Excellent recoil control.
I have the sig 220 hunter in the 10 mm it is a fine fine pistol But I also have the Dan Wesson specialist in the 10 mm I think it’s a little nicer . But it was a lot more expensive to wouldn’t get Reid of either
Glock 29...... recoil spring is two part and smooth. Very accurate for size. Can use 15 round mags with x grip.
My favorite one is the P220 Elite 5" stainless. I saw a used one on Gunbroker going for 3k. I might have to settle for a new P220 Legion 5"

The Rock island double 1911 10mm will give all of them hell. I had mine for a few years and use it for hunt. And never had a jam.

I'm surprised you didn't have a Glock 40 on the table, especially given the purposes you're discussing (being in the woods in bear country). The longer slide reduces recoil and muzzle rise, helping you get back on target faster and the longer barrel should just, ever so slightly, increase velocity helping each round do slightly more damage on a charging bear.
I was going to pick up the S&W until I saw all the people posting about issues. Might pick up a Gen 2 if the issues are resolved. I have the middle and the ultra-compact of the XDM's, and I like them. It's the G 40 I take into the woods though.

Longer slide and barrel also means you have a lot more gun to draw out of a holster in a self defense situation.
@@200130769 this discussion wasn't about "self defense", perse. I keep my G40 strapped to my chest in the woods. It certainly isn't my EDC or anything, and it's not even on my bedside. Those are smaller 10's and a couple of 9's.
G40 is a great 10mm.

I am surprised that the GLOCK 40 gen 4 was not included with the 6 inch barrel and long slide. It is slightly more powerful and has to be more accurate with the longer sight plane.

Very nice! Shot my buddie's about a month ago. Very nice handgun. I like the trigger on my Glock 20 slightly more but the M&P 10mm has way better ergonomics then the Glock 20 no doubt.

Based upon some less than stellar reviews of the M&P 10mm, I added an XDM Elite 10mm to my M&P 10mm. G20 Gen5 is prolly next to add to the mix.

SPRINGFIELD ARMORY 10MM BEST
I have the S&P 10mm 2.0. It's now the middle of March, 2024. I've been practice shooting it for about a year and I NEVER had one malfunction wiith it. I've put at least one-thousand rounds throught it. I use mostly regular target ammo, but occasionaly I've shot some hollowpoint just to test it. My understanding is that S&W has perfected the mags for the newer editions and that seems to have fixed the problem. IMO.
So unbelievably glad I waited, and was rewarded by FN releasing the 510. I EDC appendix carry it with the 15 round in and a 22 for backup. I did get an extra 15, and 22 at my local gunshop so I can have whatever combo I want. I am getting the 545 as well because this gun is just that good.
I'm gonna order my FDE 510 Tac today. Can't hardly wait!
@@brandonmusick77 You will not be disappointed. I just ordered a bunch of holsters from LAS Concealment and Gunfighters Inc. The Sentinel with x300T and the Ronin OWB holsters with drop leg attachments and molle clips are just freaking awesome. I stopped carrying my 510T around town in favor of an AIWB for my 509T with sidecar from LAS. 510T will definitely be my standard woods gun though. Congrats!
I have a pair of tanfoglio witness 10's. Consecutive serial numbers. Love them! I did replace the grips because i found the stock grips slippery.

I have a M&P 2.0 4.625 10mm and love it. Just had to get it quad ported my Mag-Na-Port so that I had all my big bore revolvers and semi-auto 40 caliber and up ported or muzzle brake equipped.

I have the XDM Elite 4.5 and a gen 4 g40. Totally different feel from both, but both are 100% reliable. The Springfield is far better ergonomically but for some reason I shoot the g40 better.
Nice review. I'll stick with my 4.6" M&P. It's been fantastic with no issues. Love my Springfield too. The Gen 5 Glock 20 was horrible...sold it. The FN may be next purchase.
I have a Smith & Wesson 10 mm 2.0 performance center it's an awesome gun I love it never had a problem never had a jam
I've got the M&P 10mm 4.6" barrel and I haven't had any issues with it, I have not ran any underwood or BuffalBore through it yet. I did however have the mounting screws on my red dot shear off mid recoil, but thats not the guns fault tho lol
I have shot underwood and it works great. We have had no problems at all with ours.

I’m one of those that love my 4inch S&W 10mm…I have not experienced any problems what’s so ever and I’ve put everything through it…to me it doesn’t get any better for a duty size carry gun….
Your HILARIOUS! You have come a long way thou.. Good to see. I've got the SA XDM-E, absolutely love it's natural point shooter ability but the grip NEEDS Talon grips. Day & night difference. Got some grip tape on Amazon ( Trazon brand, 80 grit) and added 1/2x 2 inch strips on the slides grip points & that made a huge improvement. Liked that tape so much I made grips for all my other pistols. It's cheap & works well..got the 4 inch by 23 ft roll at a fraction of the cost of the Talons. Cut mostly various sized ovals for front rear grabs & strips for the slide pullbacks. It's for putting on swimming pool ladders non slip footing grips so I'd imagine it's waterproof too. Used a hair dryer to heat em up once on for final stick down just like the Talons. Cut em to shape, peel the backing off, stick em on & heat to super seal. Left the magwell flair on my 4.5 bbl & had to trim down the Talons pre cutout pieces. Wasn't thrilled with the laser etching cutouts on the symbols either. Unecessary & leaves too many snag points. I wrap my forefinger around the front of the trigger guard ( off hand) so I grip taped it too. Made grips for my wife's S&W M&P 40 bear backup. She loves em ESPECIALLY w the B.B. hot bear loads. No jams ever w anything. REALLY likes the grip tape front/rear on the slide too. She's a NATURAL point shooter ( better than I) & I have no doubt she could shoot a bear in the face brain shot easy if she had to. We've had grizzlies come visit us at our fishing holes & never had a problem with them but you know bears. They're ALL crazy & Unpredictable. 😁
I own the Springfield XDM Elite 4.5 inch. It’s my daily carry. Also the woods carry. (I live in northern Colorado and go in the woods a lot for days at a time). It’s my favorite pistol. Was a smith and Wesson guy for a long time. Still love the .40 I have with them, but Springfield made me fall in love with the XDM elite.
I love my Sig X10, it has less recoil than my Glock 22!
I just bought the XDM (Elite) complete with the “Gear Up” package about a month ago for $599 at my local FFL here in Western PA. Detractors have mentioned the large gap in the back of the slide, that somehow one would be inviting dirt to get in there. Personally, I hadn’t even noticed until I saw that particular video a few days ago. I liked the idea of the META trigger, and the XDM’s 16 round capacity, but what I really liked was the price. At $599 I only expected to get the gun, but was pleasantly surprised when I also received a case and 4 more magazines (total of 6). This was a deal maker because invariably, I always buy more magazines to have at least 8, so that when I go to the range I’m not wasting time loading magazines. If these magazines cost around $30 or so, I just saved myself over $120. I watched a few reviews (yours included) which rated the gun favorably, so I “pulled the trigger” so to speak!

Here’s my experience, I have a S&W FDE M&P 40 I love, and an M&P shield 40 I love, so I had a partiality to S&W, glocks have always felt like a 2x4 so I never bothered with them, a couple weeks back I went to a shop that had the Glock 20 5th gen, and a S&W available for test drive, the Glock and S&W both were accurate, the S&W functioned perfect, the Glock felt awesome in the hand, no more 2x4 ergo's. But it jammed on EVERY, SINGLE, ROUND. EVERY SHOT. It was accurate, but refused to cycle. The trainer at the place came out to show me what I was doing wrong, and it jammed every time on him too, regardless of ammo used. So they cleaned it, and it still jammed every shot with the “expert” It also dropped the mag on one shot too. At the encouragement of one of the sales people I bought a FDE Springfield XDM elite without test driving. It is Crazy accurate, I’ve never shot a pistol so well, it’s got a phenomenal trigger, 16 +1 capacity, I love the U rear sight, and it fits my XL hand so well. Hands down its best polymer gun I have for sure. Cycles ammo without a hiccup, the XDM elite is the best you can get. It’s so good I’m looking for aftermarket triggers for my M&P pistols now.

I only have black bear where I live but I carry a Hi-point 10mm in a chest holster when I'm out on our land because we have a ton of them and we see 300-400lb bears every year here. Thanks for the video again Chuke. It was nice to see some of the different 10mm offerings. I have been using the Federal solid core synthetic ammo and it shoots great through the Hi-point. I would love to hear your impression of that ammo if you ever get the chance. Take care. I'm saving up for the Glock 20.

My woods pistol is a Gen 3 Glock 20 with a KKM barrel and stronger recoil spring and titanium firing pin. I carry it in a Kenai chest rig.

I own a M&P 2.0 10mm and it's awesome. Never had a single issue with any ammo I've used and as you said the ergonomics are nearly perfect. I have the Sig 10mm as well and it's close. You can keep your Glocks and FN's... they just don't fit my hands well at all.
I really love the added features standard on the Springfield, especially the fluted mag well opening. And at half thr price of a FN. In addition, with large hands the Springfield Armory XDM is a great shooter. First time out of the box Bulls Eye.
I own the S&W M&P 10- 5.25 inch barrel version and I have to say no malfunctions of any kind ever with any of my hand loads ranging from 155 grain to 200 grain bullets. No issues at all. And using the mag fully loaded. Mounted a red dot sight and it’s a formidable platform IMHO. Let’s face it every manufacturer can have issues with product from time to time. You yourself did the Glock-Sig blow up vid and most people would agree those are really solid manufacturers. It happens.

If you need 10mm mags for the EAA, look for 40 S&W mags. All the steel frame base Witness models used the same frame for all calibers offered. 9, 40, 38 super, 45, and 10. Compact frames were just cutoff shorter, so they except the full size or compact mages. Look for 40 S&W Witness mags for something more prevalent and tap the 3 pins of the filler plate out. The feed lips between the 10 and 40 are compatible. You will have a notch leftover in the follower, but it won't affect usage.

I just purchased the fn 510 fde, I really thought this was going to be like my g27 rough and snappy. Nope!! This 510 shoots like 9mm and very accurate. One of my best purchases. Paired it with a tirjicon rmr fde and sure fire 300x a. This looks so sexy. lol

I love my Tanfoglio defiant stock in 10mm mine has the safety so I carry it in single action.. I would choose it over any of those guns tbh.. 14 round capacity runs 100% and I shoot it really good
I have a Glock 40 M.O.S. and love it; also just got a S&W M&P M2.0 Performance Center 10mm with a ported barrel, and it is awesome!
I have a G20C. Both the barrel and slide are ported. Never a malfunction in several years. I have shot three mags of .40S& W without a failure. The biggest problem I have is finding a range holster.

I have tested a Sig P220 elite that shoots like a dream. Big and heavy but it is a real smooth and accurate pistol.
I've never liked the way the Xd feels ergonomically. So I just went Glock 20. Great vid!
I am really glad all these companies have picked up the 10mm. We are a far cry from the 90s where a grand total of 2 pistols were chambered for it.
When I bought my XD-45 service I had been planning on getting the 10 mm. The only thing that made me change my mind and go with the .45 was that every time I would go get ammo for my other guns I would pass around all the other caliber rounds and I rarely saw any 10 mm's. I don't want to be more or less forced to get them online.

You were saying to clean and lube your Glock right out of the box. Glocks come shipped with some copper grease a lapping compound applied where the slide meets the frame that helps break it in.

I have a G20, G29, M&P 2.0, XDm Elite. I fixed the Smith with a 22 lb recoil spring and extra strength mag springs. It is absolutely reliable and fits my hand the best. Fires everything including the 220 gr pills from Buffalo Bore. Love them all.

I also really like my XDM 3.8” 10mm it’s shoots so accurate and the recoil really surprised me being a small lightweight 10 mm I really like the feel a lot more than some of the smaller 9mms I’ve shot that sometimes have that snappiness. Only thing is damn mags are a lil pricey though at $48 ea. I did buy 3 of the 15 round mags and they are great but 50 a mag is kinda ridiculous I think.
I own the xdm elite , love it. Was excited to check out the sig X10, finally found one in the store, and they let me try the trigger reset, and I found it to be garbage. I'll stick with my xdm. If I ever find myself in bear country, I'll probably have my 454 casull with me as well, so no worries..
@@Yamahammer4132010 I looked at one a few days ago and I wasn’t impressed either.I was thinking too as good as the trigger is in the XDM its probably goin to be pretty tough to find anything that is on the same level especially factory! The trigger in this thing blew me away I have a Glock with nice trigger in it and i looked it all over and polished any minor rough spots with a ceramic stone and it’s good but not as good as the xdm. I really don’t think I would have even thought a factory striker fired polymer frame gun could have a trigger like it does

10mm MANIACS FOREVER!!! LOVE 'EM!!! I always have an altered Glock 20 SF within arms reach at all times. I'm still hoping to come across a Tanfoglio all-steel, double stack, SA/DA, full dust cover 10mm...somewhere...someday... That new FN has certainly peaked my interest (though, I could do without the threaded barrel)!
I love my M&P 2.0 10MM! Never had a failure to feed or jamb. Traded in a Glock 40 that I didnt like the ergonomics. Smith nailed the ergonomics with the M&P.
EDIT - FIXED (APEX FRE Extractor) Agree with the M&P10mm. Nothing but issues from mine from DAY ONE. I love M&Ps and own several. It's my overall platform of choice. Seems most folks dont have issues with the 10mm any longer. But I must've gotten a first batch. I know how to work on M&Ps...I've done everything I know, polish this, buff that, replaced springs, mags, you name it. It's been to S&W once. Came back with a new slide. It was much improved after that, but still nowhere near what I'd call reliable. Same thing you described your buddy going thru. Every blue moon, I can get thru an entire magazine without a FTF, FTE, JAM, whatever. I've spent alot of money trying to make it right. And I believe I've given up on it at this point. I have a GLOCK 30 in 45acp, that I have a 10mm conversion barrel/mags for. It is FAR more reliable than my MP10mm. Shame, real shame. I wish I had waited on the FN510...I really like the looks of that, and it's brother the 545. Cheers.

@@Fyrwulf EDIT - Now Fixed WITH APEX FRE Extractor. It didn't matter what I fed it. Could be S&B 180gr or Underwoods Hottest of the Hot, and everything in between. It Jammed constantly. Of note, it would cycle 40 more reliably than 10mm...........On 10mm, The lip of the rim of the case itself was getting hung up on the extractor apparently, as the new extractor has alleviated the choking.
@@J.Wick. exact same thing for me. I used sellier and bellot standard 180 gr fmjs, sig v-crown 180 grains , underwood 150-180s, but the only thing that never caused failure to feeds or extracts were the 60 grain liberty defense hollows for obvious reasons. It couldn’t handle Underwood in any way, shape, or form and i sold it. But i will say the other m&p line up guns such as the 4inch barreled 9mm is very reliable although i sold that too.
@@Lilcrossbow I LOVE M&Ps...I've one in 9, 40, 357s, 45, and 10. Multiple Shields as well. All have been excellent. Especially the 40, and 45s. However, that 10mm...Man that thing has been a pig. Glad it's finally what I'd consider operable. I've got about 500 thru it since the new extractor. I think I've had 3 failures with it? Used to be 3 per magazine, at least. Something like that. Not perfect still, but man, soooooo much improved. I feel your pain lol. I was determined to make that thing work somehow. Every little piece helped a bit, but that FRE was the key. As much $ as I have in it now though, I could have 2 510s probably lol. 🤷🏼 Ive heard of a few 4.6s with similar issues, but the 4 had far more as I understand it. I'm not certain, but I think there was some Extractor mixup at the factory or something. Not to mention how undersprung it was too. Alas, Just glad it's usable now lol.
I know you pur the FN as your top pick but from how you described all pistols it sounds like the XDM Elite is by far the best one.
I think my choices would run between the S&W and the Springfield. Fit and ergonomics are my priorities.
So 3 weeks ago you apologized and came back to Glock as the top choice. I would think the one you do not have on their G40 would be the top choice. I love mine with 507C. The best advise was listning to Chuck and going to a KKM barrel and 22lb. NDZ spring and guide rod. That pistol shoots like butter.
I know I’ll get tomato’s thrown at me…. But, I can’t figure out the hate for Kimber. I have a Custom 2 in 10mm. After a short break in, Wilson Combat magazines ( polishing Kimber mag followers and mag bodies inside) I have nothing but praise for its reliability and accuracy. Liked it so much I bought a Stainless LW in .45. It too is the same as it’s 10mm brother.
I gold mine in Alaska and both my dad and I just bought an M&P 2.0 10mm and an FN510 10mm because of all the wildlife and it was suggested to us. The M&P is definitely top two and FN is number one. I highly recommend getting a 2.0!!
I have a Delta Elite, 2 XDM Elites, 3.8 & 4.5 “. Ruger 3” Wiley Clap revolver and A Glock 21 converted to 10mm. Plus a Hi-point carbine and CMMG Banshee. I love 10mm’s

A 6" hunter-style 1911 really helps 10mm reach its inherent potential & if you're using it for animal defense, it's certainly the way to go

Well I own one Glock and it is a G20 gen 3. That is my main carry in Ak. I prefer DA/SA pistols. Exposed hammer so Glocks usually are not my thing. But I still feel the G20's are the best all around critter with teeth getter.
I love the 1911's a lot. In .45 my top pistol is the FN FNX tacticool which I have set up very well. In Alaska I also believe chest holsters are really the best choice.
I have many firearms and many of them are revolvers I have .357 mags 1 .41 Rem mag, and a couple of .44 mags and 1 S&W .500 which I traded my 8 3/8s for a 4 inch. I just finally found and purchased a snub nose S&W .460 but have not received it yet. Should be in by Monday next week. But even with all the calibers I still choose the Glock G20 because I know what it is capable of doing. And with 15 round mags (standard capacity for all you left wing nuts) which gives you a lot of capacity in easy to carry mags.
I did change barrels and have several for the G20 as it is my main sidearm when trampling through the woods. I have surprised a couple of bears but so far have been lucky and they just were not interested in playing with me.

I've shot all of them but the high point. My favorite one is the tanfoglio P one o also have a p40 rotating barrel that's kicks less than any of them that is a great gun
