for those who asking about ratios of holes. it something to do with wavelengths. it doesn't really depends on diameter. the diameter determine the base note of the reed also the amount of air going through. the diameter of holes also determine the tone. smaller holes farther from other holes give lower tone. bigger holes closer will give the same tone. lower octave holes are farther from each other. the notes are not proportionate to each other so the distances are slightly different. the half notes are made with smaller holes so can be farther. this is to make the flute easier to play so your fingers are not too close to each other. I suggest to make a cardboard flute first than a copy the holes to a bamboo. fine tune it with a tuner app. all the best.

Before to tune Sa you have to tune from Pa, Dha and Ni because tuning will vary depending on its previous hole’s position.
If you tune the Sa first while the Dha and Ni are flat, and Sa will become sharper when you sharpen the previous Pa Dha Ni holes.
