I recently purchased a 2020 Explorer Platinum and the screen was horizontal (which I prefer). It was a low mileage demo. I traded a 2018 Explorer XLT for it. I loved my XLT, but the rear drive platform on this car provides an exceptional ride.
Nice job. I drove them both too but found the Aviator to be vastly superior to the Ford in every aspect and purchased the Lincoln. Thank you for your review.
@@annecoogan5530 that’s exactly what I am doing my kind sir👍 I’m just saying if I had the cash, this could be a perfect successor to my current explorer if anything were to happen to it, I absolutely love my current explorer and I will drive it till it dies👍 cheers
@@annecoogan5530 It isn't exactly the. same as the last one, the styling could be called evolutionary, not radically different, last model drove like a big Volvo s80, this one is a totally new rwd platform, the 3.0 ecoboost and 10 speed, definitely feel and drive different from the 3.5 with the 6 speed, this is more electronic tech in this, I know the usual " oh its a ipad" screen resolution looks good to me, my complaint about it not being able to enlarge the 360 image on the screen, and the lower model with the smaller screen actually gives a bigger camera image, and the fake would on the console, doesn't even look like wood, big improvement, is having a larger gas tank, last one was tiny for a bigger vehicle, really bad range. Bottom line if someone old Explorer is working fine and their happy with it, sure keep it, but you want something different, this is.
Wow ford interior really stepping it up and your driving installed ipad for the center infotainment wow......Seems like a great suv maybe test drive the ford explorer and compare the ford ecosport see which one is good for the money. Great video.
Why do you keep referencing the Aviator? I know they are built on the same platform but one is specially tuned to be luxury and the other more mainstream. Not fair to keep doing that, Explorer is geared towards a totally different market.
How would this stack up to the palisade as far as 3rd row room. I really don’t want to buy my wife a big suv but I still want the ability to pack in adults for nights out on the town or road trips. Just seems these 3rd row suvs are useless as far as the 3rd row goes.
Traded in a 2018 Explorer XLT for a new Platinum recently - although I love all the features and added power, I wish they would have made the 3rd row roomier. The 3rd row is smaller and seats are less comfortable than the previous generation. I took a 4k mile road trip with five adults and a baby, really made me wish I had gone for an Expedition/Tahoe (or even the Telluride).
An explorer and a Tahoe aren’t in the same class size though. So it’s not exactly a great comparison. Size wise, a Tahoe and an expedition would be an apples to apples comparison.
Can you get the center infotainment system sitting horizontally? I would get annoyed with it standing up so high like it does. Looks like an iPad stuck to the dashboard 😂
I wish while you kept saying you found it interesting the drive felt different between the Explorer and the Aviator, you would have explained WHY you felt it was interesting.
This is a larger SUV than the Aviator with more interior space. And no one will ever do off-roading with an Aviator, but you can do some light off-roading with the Explorer.
You should take some pointers from Raiti's Rides, he's thorough and entertaining. You need to pace yourself way too fast on the talking and video scanning, i got dizzy just looking at your fast pace video and quick jardon. Pace yourself the vehicle not going anywhere.
Ford dealers are happy to sell you a vehicle but they can't currently repair cars due to a Ford parts shortage. Something they don't tell you when you buy a Ford. Ford blames COVID but according to my body shop (a nationwide chain) they have no problem getting parts for GM, Chrysler, Kia's etc. So if you're in a fender bender or a part fails on your Ford, it CAN'T BE FIXED. My 2021 Explorer has been sitting at a body shop for 2 months after we hit a deer and did relatively minor damage on it. Ford has no idea when they will be able to get parts and they refuse to pay for a rental car. They refuse to offer a loaner car. I'm currently in the process of filing a claim in Civil Court. The car may not be a lemon but the Ford product support and customer relations certainly is.
I went to test drive a 2022 Explorer Platinum to replace my 2011 Explorer Limited 4WD. I was VERY displeased by the quality of the 2nd and 3rd row seating surfaces in the new Explorer. But, the lousy sound from the B&O system was a deal breaker for me. I'm confused by the comments from people who say the B&O system is better than the Sony system. That is NOWHERE NEAR the case when comparing the new system to the one in my 2011 Explorer. The 2011 is FAR better than this new one!! The sound quality is not just slightly better with the Sony system, but the difference is incredible. So no, in NO WAY is the Explorer anything at all like an Aviator. The difference is night and day. My wife prefers a sedan anyway, so I'm buying a Continental to replace the Explore. In many other ways the Explorer is very nice. But the seats and sound system are awful. And that comes from a long time Ford guy and stock holder.
It's the exact same engine as the aviator were you using premium fuel. It should put out 400HP AND 400 TQ that's what that engine puts out in the MKZ as long as PREMIUM GAS IS USED. My 3.7L V6 in my MKZ puts out 305HP & 280TQ
Stop they make a better value used 😂. But actually the previous gen Explorer actually held its value well in the $10-15k range for the 2011 onwards Explorer Limited AWD
Always like the Ford Explorer and this one is luxurious and like the captain chairs a lot of space
I have a 2021 Explorer Base Model. It doesn't have all the bells and whistles but still love it.

I just bought the King Ranch version and im in love. Still learning all the features but damn i love the interior.!!!!

Thanks for opening up the sunroof for us
Does the Ford Explorer Platinum takes regular gas
That ford looks so cool!
I don’t like Ford but I’m kind feeling this vehicle 😍

Way bigger third row seating in the Hyundai and kia sisters!
The Ford is so much better than the Korean POS, plus i prefer to keep my money here in the USA instead of giving it to the Commies!!!!

One of the best model of ford family
I like the vehicle but the big screen looks like an after though, not a fan
I will wait for a refresh
Love the explorer
Is that a light tan and chocolate brown interior?
Awesome review ben👍
I am in love with explorer
Excellent review! Thanks
thank you very much ben hardy iwill buy one
Looks good my driveway👍🏾
You do a nice job but the reviews are more so formative and positive rather than including anything critical or constructive for people to consider.
Did you say you can hear more hemorrhoids? Jk happy holidays.

Ben do a 2021 ford explorer platinum vs 2021 chevy Tahoe idk which package u choose maybe its a high country orr idk plz answer for a video
I’ll see what I can do

Ok
You said Aviator about a hundred times! Aviator is from a luxury brand of Ford! So of course a Ford isn't going to sound as good as a aviator? DUH!
$60000+ is hardly a bargain
But you get a free iPad
Never buy new buy wait 2 to 3 years my MKZ was 50k new in 2016 in 2018 25k let the other guy lose the money

Lower trims do have a smaller screen mounted in landscape orientation! Top trim only come as portrait like that which i hate.
What's the different between normal and eco mode can you explain please
More sluggish throttle response and transmission shifting!
throttle respons ... kinda rpm get a bit higher
Very nice ..The price tag 🏷 tho
Price is how much?
Can you review a 2021 chrysler pacifica pinnacle
Yes

If i have chance, i will be imported to sale in Thailand by my company.

Oh the King ranch is new trim added to the explorer side by side to the platinum but with the country - rugged look.
Ford hit a home run with this one!
