Good to see Bruyneel back!! 😲
He's the backbone of the show
@@damienadam5997 Agreed
I hope with all my heart that Sir Mark gets his 35th win. Undoubtedly his focus will be maxed out, and the competition will be stronger than ever, but if anyone can - he can.
Regarding a team doing a sweep of the podium at the Tour, the closest I can think to it happening was 1986 where LeMond came first, Hinault second, Hampsten fourth, all riding for La Vie Claire.
Also Astana in the 2009 Tdf with Contador 1st, Armstrong 3rd, and Klodën 5th. They were in a very, very good position to sweep the podium, and likely would have, if not for the late race tactics by Contador. But I don't blame Alberto in the least. Lance was trying to screw Alberto over the entire race and proved that he wasn't to be trusted. If Lance hadn't been such a dick, they could've swept the top three spots.
@@jacquesdemolay5171 Finally! An intelligent comment on a WEDU video
João Almeida Rules🔥🔥🔥
Chris Froome style ride
Love these podcasts. I live for them. 👏👏👏👏
Appreciate you tuning in.
Bruyneel looking very svelte !
Yeah he looks like he's getting faster on the bice
He’s been riding
JB quote: “We all know that the TDF is going to be the Pogacar show”. Brave words indeed! I might think that but would never say it. Cycling has a way of making commentators look foolish😀
It is called Pogi's World 🌍
Don't understand. Can you clarify? Should be the Pogacar show. Hard to dispute. We must be missing something perhaps?
George likes his hotels. Johan looking sharp. Does he have a stylist? His recollection of events is off the charts.
The riders that team UAE Emirates will presents on the TDF ,for sure are one of the best teams who have participated on a 3 weeks race, no doubt about it, however the tour de France is a race where being the best it's not enough to win the GC ,and with a ITT on the last stage with about 35 km with a lot of mountain could be decisive after 3500 km of race ,if between the 4 horseman there's not a significative difference (minutes) ,well that time trial will be more epic than 2020 when POGI snatched his first TDF win !
I think sharing the TdF record would be a good place for Cav to retire. I have a feeling that Jasper the Disaster will be super reckless again too, hate watching that guy sprint.
On paper, Johan is 100 percent correct about Mark Cavendish. But he has the advantage of being, in addition to very smart, absolutely insane at the end of a sprint stage. If he gets his chance, he'll do absolutely anything and everything to take advantage of it. It should be fun to watch.
Cavendish is toast, it's not 2009 he can win in a second rate stage race with little competition but the TdF is not that.
@@JakeJ.-yi1du You're right about that at least on paper. Cavendish has done nothing this year to suggest he can still win a TDF stage. Vingegaard also has done nothing on paper to suggest he is fully recovered and able to win his third TDF as he has not raced at all since his serious injuries. But sporting contests are not won or lost on paper and the improbable sometimes does happen. That is what makes it worth following.
Cav had an equally slow start to the 2021 season yet came away from the TdF with four stage wins and the green jersey. He's tends to do alright when others write him off.😉🍀🤞
I'm only watching the tour for Cav.👍
Cav is smart and still fast, but it will be difficult to beat Phillipsen and especially de Lie. The raw power of that guy is just insane if you look on how he won the belgium championship. He also rides the muur on the big ring and won a sprint with one leg. 😂
Great show. My only suggestion, can we turn down the volume of the opening/ending jingle? Been meaning to ask that since the inception. 🤷🏼♂️
I hope Johan is incorrect about Cav. The competition is definitely really strong and the stage profiles are tough.
he's not
@@kieranbarry8193 Exactly his TdF stage winning days are behind him, George can't see past his friendship to give a truly honest assessment
I understand Johan's reservations about Mark Cavendish's chances of notching up stage win #35 especially looking at results so far this year. However, the same could be said in 2021 when he had an equally slow start to the season but he still went on to win four stages at Le Tour and win his second Maillot Vert. Also, he might not have the best lead-out train, but it's certainly not the worst and if it came to it, there are still not many cyclists better than Cav at surfing the wheels of others. Time will tell. Go Sir Cav!
Called it!😉
Jonas confirmed now. Game on
lol, Lance's big doping buddy Jonathan Vaughters throwing another one of his riders (Piccolo) under the bus and selling him out shows ya how clean cycling is and always has been. (that was sarcasm obviously).
Mr. George - pls upgrade your sound
If is a gift is free . If it is not free then is not a gift
Come on boys. 118k subscribers, and George's mic is so bad it's challenging to understand him for a foreigner like me. OK he's traveling, whatever, can still buy a 50$ mic that does the job 😅
Agreed. Apologies
Thanx guys for sharing your expertise. I would like to listen less "you know,...i mean ..." Expressions on your participations. It makes them less enyoable. Thank you again.
riccitello would have won l'avenir 2023 if it wasnt for the insane ride from del toro i felt so bad for him lol
wouldn't write off Jonas' chances, as everyone in the media is doing..2x defending champ and Tadej has a history of fading in the hot weather. Yates wasn't even within 10 minutes of Jonas last year. Tadej 7 minutes. Jonas wins imo b.c. he doesn't have to be 100%
johan!
Torstein
Sorry Johan... you always had a blind spot towards Almeida....
In the same sentence Hincapie says (about Cav) there's nobody better in the world, but then he says that he just needs that perfect day. I agree with Johan about Cav, Except I don't think he "deserves" the record. Especially after watching year after year where the sprint stages were catered to Cav and his leadout train. Merckx earned his wins in every discipline under the sun. Cav was towed and slung to the line and the other teams rarely tried any tactics other than out-sprinting him after he already had a head start.
Sorry George but, Cav is only the GOAT of whining.
Why is George always so down on Pogi? Amazing rider, amazing ambassador for the sport, but seems like always looking for a reason for him to lose.
Abiut the performances on the climbs you forgot that the stage was only 40 odd ks . So not really comparablento a tour stage with hard mountains and maybe 150 k ride beforehand
yes, Go POGI. TDF has more to watch, maybe Victor Lafay for a stage win.
Tour de Suisse coverage, no mention of Remco and very little talk of Visma//LOL. How things change in a year.
Remco didn't compete in the Tour de Suisse. He was in the Dauphiné and they already did a show about the Dauphiné just a week before. Why would they bring him up here??
@@Lonigahi953 He was not mentioned in the pre tour part of the show.
With George being such a high roller, flying around in helicopter's, wining and dining like the jetsetter he is, why is there no way for him to get a slightly better recording equipment? Dude's hardly understandable, which is a shame!
correct....its dreadful :(
Missing Lance… whats up?
Yates need to shave.
UAE will put a hurten on the Jumbo/Vesma/Leaseabike this Le Tour. Tadej is in better shape than he's arrived in. I also believe he has a better idea of his power use & calorie consumption necessary to keep that Big Block Engine from over heating. 👍🏻🚵🏾♀️🇸🇮💯
i think this is the perfect year for pogi to do the double because it may put him and jonas on more of an equal footing
UAE "Dominance" is a nice headline... but a bit disingenuous... all you have to do is look at the start lists for the Dauphine` and the Tour de Suisse to get a clearer picture of the "domination"... Bora, Soudal and Visma sent their "A" list TdF riders to the Dauphine`... UAE still had a quality team featuring Ayuso, Politt, Sivakov, Soler and Wellens... and they got waxed... Hell, Matty J and Visma smoked them... and that's with Kruijy and Van Barrle crashing out and Kuss being sick... In the Tour de Suisse, UAE had their "A" list TdF riders up against... who? None of the "Big 3's" "A" listers... So please... let's wait and see how things play out in the Tour BEFORE you anoint UAE the "Best team ever" status... I ain't buying it right now... Talent "on paper" is one thing... but I don't remember ever seeing UAE ever use its' talent all that effectively, tactically speaking, in a Grand Tour setting...
This is the true Big 4 legends : Lance, JB, George and Johan. wtf where is Lance 😅 is JB also a cyclist before? 😂
Lance with Family in France. This is JB, was just an amateur Texas racer for about 15 years
Cavendish does not deserve the record - not after he caused Sagan's disqualification out of the Tour - Sagan was not to blame and would have 8 green jerseys if not for that..
Hahaha, sod off Fred. Utter nonsense!
35 isn't happening. And Johan needs a new stylist; his glasses make him look older, not wiser.
