SA’s Voice bill is a ‘dangerous game’ to play before national referendum

- South Australia’s state Indigenous Voice bill is a “dangerous game for them to play” in the lead up to the national referendum for a Voice to Parliament, says Indigenous Leader Warren Mundine.
“It is a dangerous game for them to play because when you’re leading up to the referendum here nationally this could go very sour for them,” he told Sky News host Paul Murray.
“So it’s going to be a lot of work in the background to make sure it doesn’t go sour.”
I bet you won't see Linda walking around out here alone in rural Australia either day or night, or God forbid she would ever live out here. The voice is WRONG! We will all be Voting NO!
"Always was, always will be a problem if we treat people differently based on their race"
How sad Not one Australian flag in site
if they pull this off the aussie flag will be abolished completely
And there is the separation of two types of ppl in australia .. Discrimination at its best
Warren should not have apologised in saying that the pm shed crocodile tears, as that was what they were. Purely emotional blackmail
Albo was slurring his speech so much I reckon he'd been drinking.
This has made my mind up. NO. Stunts like this to get you vote one way or another make me suspicious. Either it's a good idea or it isn't. This is not a good idea.
Albo said from the bottom up, so why didn’t he meet with the aboriginal delegation last week. Contradiction!!
Like I said as an Australian born citizen I feel like we don't matter. So who am I?
Just like here in the US the current government treats native white citizens that have paid taxes for several decades like second class citizens to welfare bum minorities and illegal aliens
You're an invader. Always was, always will be. You should feel guilty and ashamed and just vote yes.
I'm starting to wonder if my husband would like to return to Scotland and take me with him!
@@kellysouter4381 ooo! That would be lovely. Take me lol
So we’re the owners of this land that was stolen. No one was asked to come here in the first place. So you most welcome to leave.
Vote NO
If this is such a great model and it works, why should the Constitution be changed.
It'd be funny if the voice was voted down.
The angliosphere is being destroyed from within its replacement will not be good.
You mean that you can have a voice to parliament without spending millions of dollars on a referendum! How about we see if it works before locking it into the constitution, it's not the Australian people who created the gap, it's the politicians and beurocrats, people who are divided by common sense from the rest of the country,
You certainly can. The difference though with the State and Federal ones, it's in a referendum to the Australian constitution, which requires a vote by the public. You can have it just legislated but the next government could potentially reverse it. The concept for the Federal voice is that this can't be disbanded and can only be improved over time.
States are a bit different and don't require a vote to change the state constitutions.
@@Ritzer168 yeah nah, locking things in before they are tried and tested, is like a fat person joining weight watchers before they go to the cake shop, it's only going to get ugly,
This voice can be removed by the next government, changing the constitution is permanent.
Where are the Australian flags in this mob HUH!
We were all born here and one nation one flag.
It was the early generations of Australians under one flag that went to war, and spent their blood sweat and tears to build Australia and gather all Australian inhabitants under one flag. Without the education and improved life style offered to all Australians because of the foresight of earlier Australian generations, not one Indigenous flag flying individual today would be able to reap the benefits they now enjoy.
How is it going to help us in SA? Please be very specific!
It won't do anything except give the social workers more money for new office furniture.
Before when writing 'SA' people thought it was South Africa and you had to specifically say you are talking about a part of a completely different country with different policies. Now you only have to say it is part of a different country.
@@kellysouter4381 The Aboriginal industrial complex already gets $40b / year. Doesn't help one bit.
So the ppl have not got a say in it, Looks like its already passed and no say in it ..
Why the f... do we have to listen to Linda Scott again??
A change in the constitution is a different story. Best wishes to SA.
More people will going on the Dole in SA. Lol
More will be identifying as indigenous .
I don't think it will even do that. Might be some bashings if the aboriginal community start throwing their weight around.
As I've said, it won't be The Voice, but The Voices plural and every state will have one, along with every local council.
The aboriginal industrial complex rolls on unabated and all on the taxpayer dime.
The government is not that stupid, that anything that's not positive will come to light in South Australia. They will wait until the national vote before anything controversial comes out, so beware vote NO
The current Indigenous agencies are obviously not achieving the level of support necessary / required so they need to review those. Where does all the $ go?
This VOICE is only the curtain in front of the stage, the performance is about to begin! 🤬
SA is the absolute armpit of Australia, and it gets worse every year.
I used to live there.
If this goes through, when China invade I wont be fighting for this country and neither will my sons - let them have it - 20 years after Chinese occupation nobody will even remember the aborigines existed.
I couldn’t agree more. They’ll be running for the bush to live on witchety grubs and good riddance.
The huge difference with the SA "Voice" as compared to the Fed "Voice" is that it will not be locked into the Constitution. That is where the problem really dwells.
What did SA get from Sleezy Albanese to help him to change the Constitution?
He has not changed the constitution, only in SA and this law can be changed
A civil war is not far away in Australia's history. Vote NO
unless you want a civil war.
Pauline Hanson is my Voice!
so many questions, but only one answer - NO
He ambushed us with this. No mandate whatsoever. Peter should start looking at situations vacant for his next job.
Peter Dutton has every right to ask for the fine print. There is a precedent from Labour that must be considered. In 1982 the Whitlam Labour Government established the National Indigenous Conference to develop a treaty between the Aboriginal Nations and Australia. This treaty sought to return sovereignty to Aboriginal peoples. This included original reserves to be acquired by the government and given as freehold to aboriginal peoples. Self-government for each tribal territory. Payment of 5% of GDP per annum for 195 years. The return of Forests and National Parks (already happening) Mineral rights to the land. Tax exemption for 195 years. The reservation of seats in Federal and State parliaments and a number of other cultural issues. There are a bunch of political extremists already involved in this Voice ready to be involved in further development of the Voice. Whitlam is one of Albanese's heros and it would not surprise me that he wants to be one step up on Whitlam. Albanese has not had a good track record in being truthful, so when he says "trust me", "all the detail will be worked out after the referendum", I would be very afraid. If any of this stuff is being considered, he would not want people to know about it.
1:29 so you mean they already have a voice?
Yep
Mr Magoo greek idiot who elected to lead SA labor party snuck a voice into the SA which us as citizens did not get a vote or say
Typical labor government
I’ll be voting NO and that SA fault treat the taxpayers like shit and bring it in before the ref
The indigenous people are the soul owners of Australia , once on the constitution that will be removed and they will have signed there lands and territories over to a contract //
That contract will then be taken over by a foreign entity that will lay claim to ownership of australia //
Think about that very carefully ///
Be nice to Rob Zombie!
If the colonisers of Australia had wanted to recognise the Indigenous peoples of this land they could have when they wrote the Constitution of Australia. They didn’t because they knew that would not make them “ masters in someone else’s land” So it was convenient to ignore and continue with the concept of Terra Nullius or empty land! The plan all along was to keep selling off the land that wasn’t theirs and claim it was State or Federal land or Free hold! Well it worked ! The Indigenous peoples were not recognised as humans till 1960’s that’s when they got to vote. All this talk about Constitution and Rule of Law is foreign to the Indigenous owners! The simple thing for Indigenous peoples to realise is nothing is going to happen from the Libs And Nationals to make them be recognised in that foreign document called the Constitution. Imagine what the Indigenous people are up against in a Referendum in which all other peoples of Australia who migrated here are deciding if the Indigenous people should be recognised as the Original owners of this stolen land! Try colonising Great Britain , or India or New Zealand and telling that to any Indigenous peoples of those lands and see what reception you will get! Need I continue. The Constitution is a racist document to begin with when it was written up the land was just fauna and flora! Nothing much will change even if the Referendum goes through and proof is there for all to see! Nearly 150 years of Colonisation and the Indigenous peoples are still dying from curable diseases. The Indigenous owners of the land have got nothing to show or prove that that they are more than fauna flora unless someone can prove otherwise!
national cabinet in lockstep
Another pie floater? Only in SA aye?
Vote NO people
Labor is a poor excuse for a party representing the majority of SA. I will be voting NO......while I agree with the statement someone will change it....it could also mean Lydia is treating non Aboriginal people differently etc etc. What a foolish act by Labor.
"One of us, one of us."
That’s a NO from me!
Say no to the voice it will divide us permantly
Aaannnnd it is still a No from this Aussie! We have enough division now. Why cloud race in this great country. Nooooo
Legalise the Voice when all the details are not clearly explained? SA may feel happy about that but should not rush into legality t
Im not sure what the vote is about
Increases in taxes.. more money for government.

So why didn’t SA have a referendum ?
Well I’m races No for me , I’m sick of saying thank you for what , my family fought in two wars thank them, it’s my land ,
