Halfway through I realized this was a clever ad to sell me cashew processing equipment. Which reminds me, I'm out of cashews and will be going to the store tomorrow for more.
The prominently-displayed 'swastika' that's upsetting some people (in the Comments) has got nothing to do with the darkest hours of WW2. It's an ancient symbol of good fortune and fertility that's been used in the East for at least 10,000 years. It came to Europe centuries before Christianity was invented, and was also popular in Ancient Greece and Rome. It appears a lot in medieval times. The Nazis hijacked the swastika in the 20th century to support their dreams of Aryan racial purity through planned eugenics. Sadly, this abuse of a very old Eastern representation of goodness, harmony and peace has tarnished the symbol in the minds of many people in the West, because our 'world history' books only go back as far as our politicians and national pride will allow. It's embarrassing to realise that there are such huge gaps in people's understanding of what's been happening on this busy little planet over the past hundred or so centuries of human history. Yep, it's a big world out there, y'all.🤭 Make the most of it before we wreck it completely.
All that work, skill, care, time, energy, machinery and money... Then they're chewed for 10 seconds before our guts turn the nuts into poop overnight. Sigh.
Sad to see them clear-cutting the forest to plant cashew trees, and then they spray the crap out of them with pesticides throughout the growing season.
Cashews are absolutely delicious, but I can't afford to buy any nuts these days, not even peanuts. For the price of a small bag of cashews I can get enough simple food to last me a WEEK, so nuts - sadly - are off my menu. [I'm based in the UK.]
Why don't they just clone ( root ) the part of the tree that they want. Instead of grafting ? I would think it would be a lot faster process. Also it would have been nice if you mentioned how long it took from graft to harvest. I'm sure it took at least 8 to 10 years.
Generally grafting is done because each part of the plant supplies desired characteristics. A plant with a strong root stock may produce fewer or inferior nuts and the plant with superior nuts may produce fewer of them due to an inferior root system.
Waaaah! Where do you think farmland began to be farmable land, anywhere on this planet? Man cut a notch in Nature, and took control of it, that's how. If there were 8 billion people trapesing through the jungle looking for wild fruit and nuts, there'd be a hell of a lot of pathways tramped in, in no time.
Great documentary about cashew nut. Well done, should get many likes ❤👏👏👏
Love the logging background soundtrack. Repeating it over and over really enhances the video.
I love these things. No longer concerned about price, they're worth every cent.

Seriously man, cut the background noise 😊
What background noise?
Agree it’s annoying
Yeah, sound engineer on this video failed big-time. I could not continue watching it was so distracting
It’s just about the dumbest sound-over track. It’s like 1970’s porn o asn and panting
Recoded at a logging camp 😂

I agree about the background noise - too much, clashes with the narration.
Interesting to see workers with NO gloves directly before packaging !!!
Thank you. I am always curious about cashews.
Glad you enjoy it.
I love how this has been cobbled together from other content without any shame! Even leaving other people’s copywriter marks in it!

Cashews are graded and sorted by color, size but all we ever see is whole, halves and parts. What does the sorting do?

Farmer is paid so less and customer has to pay so high.
It is middleman, who earn majority of profit.
Is that the swastika on that boiler or oven on whatever machine that is in red?
Are you narrating this video from a carpentry shop? WTF? Lose the handsaw noises.
I saw a video of women picking out cashews BY HAND… looked very tedious and hurt their hands. ???
So that’s why they’re so expensive
Cashew apples are OK, but very astringent They make wine from them in Central America ( not very good )
9:54 the swastika on the boiler is a Buddhist symbol ,!
What happens to the cashew apple?
They make apple juice
Cashew apple wine as well + spirits
Chemicals.
Great.....knock down more jungle to grow more cashew trees..........
Or just go to your neighbors tree, pick up some nuts and plant them.

Was that a comumist sembol on the cooker? Wow.
you mean the "swastika" nazi symbol, it's really a thousand year old Buddhist religious symbol, very common in Thailand and SE Asia
No, i believe it's Indian.
Am I the only one who noticed nazi symbols on the cashew ovens?
🤣🤣

Everything can be expensive if you want it to be

What happens to the poor women who do all this by hand? They looked as tho’ they were whipped into shape. No offense, but???
Cashews expensive? Try pecans!.
Buyers Pls come to Kerala , here it's no value
Seem to be wasting all the fruits.
Not an easy business to crack
This appears to be a very ecologically unfriendly product.
What is the matter with your sound? Is your stomach that upset? See a doctor
You just had to throw in the “climate change” thing!
swaztika?
Read about it before condemning

How do you know
Nah, they are all living, working, feeding and clothing their children, just like anywhere else.
unwatchable.
After watching the destruction of habitat and the use of chemicals, I will not be buying cashews again.
Show me one agri product that doesn't affect the environment. This is called climate WOKEISM.
Hundreds of acres of jungle being torn down for snacks.

You need to change that stupid background audio! It's not even relevant.

Avoid cashews - very high in oxalate.
Why was there a Nazi symbol on the roasting machine?
