Oooch that’ll be a sore one, had it been forged before but no shims put in the block, just shows you it could be a lottery think your doing good putting hardly any miles on them aswell, sure it’ll be bigger and better than before ones it finish 👍🏼
I mean its been extremely modified so you take a gamble on taking on a car where you have no idea who has fitted the parts etc hence why now looks like he has to replace alot of the work that's been done
Don’t forget. Cars are built to be driven and enjoyed. The car market could fall out at any minute, future “collector car” could be worthless the next day. Might as well enjoy the car and love it.
The broken spring, damper issue and other bits are certainly not from modification. The car having a failed piston and cracked liner - you could put down to some of the mods: however these suffer from Factory. Appreciate your input and time to comment 🙏
@@BDPerformanceWrexham The suspension is not standard is it? No these engines do not usually suffer those failures unless badly modified or consistently run on 95 Ron fuel. Piston and block failure is heat linked, usually ignition or fueling. Things do go wrong, even when you’re not using your car, but the issues with this car are inconsistent with a lack of use I’m afraid.
Yeah I was thinking along the same lines with regards to the actual modified components failing,Blocks doesn't seem as common with the RS but not unheard-of same with S60R, crown damage could also point towards dodgy fuel/ingintion map, choose modifications & specialist carefully, I'm sure BD performance will sort it, feel for him though, big running costs!
They love a cracked liner scare story to keep the pennies rolling in on block mods, good business marketing from them. How many thousands of ST’s & RS’s were made.. how many get cracked liners, I guarantee you it’s less than 1%!
I agree i to have the identical car for the same money paid and had it 6-7 years but i keep it m.o.t... just had timing belt done it gets driven now and then witch i think keeps the car ok.

Mid 40s you want to buy my 22k ultimate green 400bhp Sabre hulk just had full check up and all they could find was abs sensors round the wrong way on the front struts it has big brake conversion k sports and all supporting mods 💚👌
It can happen to any car I’ve just had my sea grey mk2 st die on this week alternator belt snapped and now I’ve lost all compression on my engine so my car showing season is over now 😢
how did this run with a piston like that...??? coil springs break for fun easy change.....at least with the old cossie yb you could rebuild these in the garage......as i had to do from time to time........
Such a unfortunate thing to happen to someone! I’m sure with all the work being done this will be a monster on the road afterwards and in my opinion one of the best examples of a big BHP Mk2 with Low Miles. Hope to see you at the Ford shows Jack, won’t miss you with that Ultimate Green paintwork (Best Colour). I’ve just bought a Fiesta ST Line and thinking of getting it sprayed in that Ultimate Green colour. Good Luck fellow Ford owner. Fella
Good morning, I am writing to you from Spain for a question I have about my 2008 Focus ST. It is to see if you have had any cases and you can help me. I have had a noise in the turbo area for about five weeks as if there were a leak when accelerating that as the area warms up the noise decreases but the noise continues. I changed the downpipe gasket and the sound continues and I don't know what it could be. I hope you can help me. a greeting thanks
Why are so many people destroying these cars with crazy modifications. just leave them as standard and maybe an exhaust system to your liking. If your not happy with the power just buy something else. Any rs that's heavily modded will be trashed and probably by multiple owners. Fully stock will be worth a lot of money down the line and worth holding onto.
Lspi, oil pump pick up getting blocked up, intake valves carbon build up to a walnut blast (blow by) oil viscosity, (cooling and intake) vac pump surge, fueling, is the small turbo suffocating it, as some Americans with the mk3 Focus ST feel more peace of mind running a bigger turbo, answer is becoming never ending with that question at present of a answer
Lots of money, an engine alone will start from £5,000 depending on the specification. For this one it’s more. Then take into account the new turbo kit; these aren’t cheap, nor is the other work. Let’s just say: you could buy a nice car for the repair costs.
you don't know what previous owners driven it like nor do you know who fitted the modifications on the vehicle I would never put that much money into a motor without knowing exactly who and what has been fitted took a gamble in my opinion and seems like he's paying the price for it now
I can hear his bank balance screaming away but its a very nice car so why not put it right 500 plus bhp beast of a motor thats me next car after ive done with me st that one is 280 bhp and its quite nippy eats vauxhalls vrx for breakfast 😅😅
For value yes, for fun absolutely not! Hearing that engine through the standard exhaust is like listening to Louis Armstrong with ear plugs in. Modify, but have it done by someone who know what they're doing (the chap in the video for example 😃)
First comment iv seen with common sense , was a matter of time before something like this happened especially when you don't have a clue who fitted these parts or how it driven prior to purchase
Bye bye any Profit lol... that don't look that great for such a low miler car. Genuinely think the prices of circa 50k plus can't look any better. I'd never pay that money for a mk2 RS lol. Fuck that shit lol. This one doesn't seem to have been that looked after mechanically. Putting it away and taking it out every now and then isn't looking after a car imo lol.
@@jamiew5211 how's that then lol. I have the money in the bank for an RS but I don't need one when I have power and all the things I need on my ST and more. All I'm missing is RS tax and wider arches really lol😜
That’s got to be one of the worst titles for a video 🤦♂️ It’s more like - Use it,keep it serviced, don’t go stupid on the power and you won’t loose it.
Catchy though; it’s hard for UA-cam - you have to get a miserable title for engagement. Couldn’t agree more with your synopsis though and thanks for the comment 🤩

Hoping the next story is a happier one

Can we send poor Jack a selection of pastries or something ?

low mileage but I bet it's been a hard 20,000 miles for the car

Asking for almost double the power will always show weaknesses in a engine best way standard or minimal mods
400bhp the sweet spot anything else over kill in my opinion
They bend rings like that when they crack liners? Previous builder not had enough ring gap for the amount of power it's running? What a shitter
Personally I would of walked away from this car with its past of running 500+bhp
