DIY SpaceX Crew Dragon papercraft model (step by step tutorial)
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- I was so excited to watch the SpaceX launch and the docking with the iss over the weekend so I decided to make a small model of the dragon capsule. It was made by axm paper space scale models and they make space themed papercraft so please check out their website (link at the bottom)
Note:
I printed mine at 70% size, so original PDF is bigger.
Pages 3 and 4 are supposed to be printed double sided. I didn't print page 4 so painted the back of the cap parts by hand with gray acrylic paint.
✂️TEMPLATE✂️
The template was made AXM, you can find the template on their website here: axmpaperspacesc...

Let me know if you have any questions
I’m your new subscriber!! 😂 That was excellent. Awesome skills. You made it look simple. Congrats!!
Thank you so much for making it available! You work is amazing!
Can you tell me what glue are you using? What’s the brand?
@@AXMPaperModelsTutorialsandMore It's paper glue made by a craft store that is local to me, don't think its anything special. I actually use white wood glue now and I keep refilling this bottle just because it has a nice nozzle at the end. If you ask me I see zero difference between the paper glue or the white wood glue, they work exactly the same, same consistency...BUT the white wood glue comes in a big tub and its soooo cheap.
Omg I’m so glad I found the website in the description! It has so many falcon 9, crew dragon, and falcon heavy models! Can’t wait for the BFR
BFR CANCELLED, its now Starship Super Heavy
Many moons ago I was working on two scratchbuilt spacecraft models that shared the same Service/Propulsion Module. A truncated cone 102mm x 115mm x 31.5mm high. In order to get a perfectly round cone I made up a cone shaped sleeve from a bearing race. Worked perfectly.
Later on I was starting to build the 1/48th scale Saturn V from Lower Hudson Valley. To get the skin for the first stage round I took chipboard and lined the inside. The secret was to cut the chip board just a little too long so you had to snap it in to place.
Insane talents you have there!
i wish id known about the trick at 0:38. i couldn't figure out how to get it really rounded properly. his instructions also mention glueing some magnets so they 2 will sit together properly but i guess you really dont need them. the cut at 3:38 was also something i didnt see coming! Finally, you make a nice hand model!
I actually made a test one before recording the video as I was lost on some parts as well ^^ I'm really happy you found the video helpful! Thank you! (I didn't have any tiny magnets sadly =/)
The spacex launch was sure a charm to the eyes 🤩 btw great content
Thank you! It really was great to watch the launch and the docking! =)
@@TinyCraftWorld don't forget bout the launcher re-entering 🤟😍
@Syed Arshad She didn’t design it

I just really would like to see the Saturn V rocket on your web side
Thanks! Will do in the future =)
Hey!! Really nice it look pretty beautiful, you should build a lunar module from a guy called “udon factory”. Nice result!! ❤️
I will look into it, thanks for watching!
Very nicely made.
Thank you!
What is the royalty-free song that plays in the background? I keep hearing it on several crafters videos and now it's an earworm.
So the songs are Oceans, Rivers, Canyons by ELPHNT, Badlands by ELPHNT, Your Suggestions by Unicorn Heads =)
Did you use cardstock or normal printer paper? (I'm super new to all this stuff and have heard many different paper "weights" thrown around when it comes to making paper models... Needless to say, I'm quite confused...)
I normally buy printing paper that is labeled at 200gsm or 180gsm. I also used paper that was 180gsm from art stores and it worked fine as well. As long as it is thicker paper it should work fine =)
Tiny Craft World Thanks for the info!
very nice model
Outstanding! Great video!
Thank you!
This is so cool!
Nice job !
wow so good i did it it looks so good on my shelf! =)
That's great!
@@babayada2015 oh cant i gave it away to a friend
Thanks for tamplate
Great model and video, keep them coming.
Thank you!
Is it just a plain a4 sheets of paper?
I did print on A4 yea but I printed it at 70% size (the paper is also thicker 200gsm)
perfect you are talented
I love this! However, I have no clue how the capsule supports work; when I try to use it it just keeps flopping around and doesn’t stay properly. In the end I just didn’t use the supports, but I’m making another one and I would like to know how to do it. Thanks a bunch
Oh do you mean the actual circles where it says capsule support? I added a bunch of glue to the edge and let it dry so it doesn't move about.
@@TinyCraftWorld yeah those bits. Sorry for bad wording, I was asking how you managed to fit in the first place, as when I do it it never sits still and is always angled or bent
same
Hello can you please make the falcon 9 booster?
Also I'm a new subscriber and you craft videos are very clear
Can you tell me what type of glue is that? I need it😅
I just use white wood glue from the hardware store =)
I made this and it took a few days then on Christmas eve last year my cat bit it up :(
Oh no! Bad kitty!
Excelente!!!!! :D
Thanks!
