Great review! I’m very interested in the Hydronaut and came across your video. Can I ask your reasoning for selling your first Hydronaut with the black dial? I prefer the dial with rectangular indices but want to make sure there are no issues with it before I take the plunge. Thanks. 😁
I should have kept the hydronaut, after I had it serviced it was in great shape. For the cost you can’t beat a hydronaut 89190, triple lock Rolex crown for around 2.5 thousand dollars. Rolex quality for a better price.

I’m becoming a bit obsessive over this watch which is not a good sign. 😂 My watch is ready for collection and it’s exactly the same dial configuration as the one you have featured in this video. Can I ask if you prefer this dial or the baton handed dial that you had previously, and the reasons for your preference having owned both? Thanks again in advance. 👌🏽
@@Thewatchera1 I like the black dial with the rectangular indices a little better . Both watches have the ETA 2824-2 movement which is easily serviceable. The blue dial has Tiger for Tiger Woods , interesting piece of history.
@@inlandwatchreviews5745Thanks for that feedback. I’d forgotten about the “tiger” on your dial. Mine says “Hydronaut”. although everything else is the same. I also prefer the rectangular indices variant but I’ve found it difficult to find these in good condition with box and papers, so I’ll settle for this dial although I do still find the overall package extremely attractive and a great piece of history. It’s probably my favourite dive watch of all time along with the “Peter Blake”Seamaster (Which I love although I don’t think it suits my wrist). 👍🏽
Hi I owned one of these hydronautes some years ago but mine featured a black dial and the case and bracelet where bi metal stainless steel and gold tone it was a beautiful watch and I regret selling it in a specialised watch auction. I brought this watch brand new from the goldsmiths jewellery company here in the UK. When I purchased this Tudor the brand was in poor shape and not advertising so to get a Tudor you went to your authorised Rolex Ad ordered a Tudor catalogue and chose the model you wanted to purchase and the AD would order from Rolex.. (no Internet)..... The watch cost me approx £1300 UK pounds at the time of purchase.... Waiting list??? Absolutely not if I remember the watch took around 7 days to arrive... In those days Tudor went under the radar you had to be interested in watches to even know the brand existed let alone it was a sub brand of Rolex.... You have a great watch there wear with pride because it's not every day your going to meet someone wearing an hydro.. Unlike the modern Tudor catalogue which are common.... My latest dive watch purchase?.... The Eberhard & Co scafograph 300 absolutely brilliant love it another brand that goes under the radar.... Mark from UK 👍

I think a lot of people have been very disappointed that Tudor have not gone with the prince line of watches. The watch you show here is absolutely super I would not personally want any association with Tiger Woods not for any reason that I dislike him but I do not feel the need to have the endorsement of a sportsman or a celebrity, but that is an absolutely fabulous watch.
That's a serious Tudor!!!! Congrats. Love it and would take that over any modern Black Bay any day of the week. Enjoy!

i owned about a dozen hydronauts back in the day. i liked them fine but some had the sloppiest lume jobs that i've seen on any watch brand
Thanks for that info. Was the sloppy lume with a particular dial variant? (Tiger, rectangular/curcular indices) or didn’t it matter?
Hopefully Tudor will revive that model

It’s odd to have Tiger on a watch. But it makes it unique
not all hydronauts were tiger. in fact most weren't
